The most tranquil part of Erhai Lake

Erhai Lake is one of the calmest and most beautiful spots in Yunnan, so it’s no wonder it’s such a huge tourist attraction. But the crowds of people can often make your visit more stressful than calming. So why not visit a quieter Erhai viewing spot? I’d recommend the tranquility of Chongyi Village! This spot features plenty of viewing platforms, giving you unobstructed views of Erhai, and tall rows of trees rising from the water. The views are particularly beautiful in the autumn, when the tree’s colours turn to bright reds and oranges! There’s a wide path tracing the lake’s edge, and plenty of benches, making your lakeside walk as easy as possible so you can just enjoy the views. I’d suggest also walking through the village itself (but be respectful of the local residents!). The old architecture and fields of farmland feel like you’ve stepped into a window of tranquility! #asiatrip
