The main attractions of Daocheng Yading include the three sacred mountains of Xianuoduoji, Yangmaiyong, and Xianuoduoji, as well as Pearl Lake, Milk Lake, and Wuse Lake. Daocheng Yading, formerly known as "Daoba," is a transliteration of the Tibetan language, meaning "a place where the valley mouth is wide." During the Tang Dynasty, Daocheng was under the rule of the Tubo Dynasty, and later the Bailang Kingdom was destroyed by Songtsen Gampo of Tubo, an event that profoundly influenced the cultural and historical development of Daocheng.
