Spring has sprung, and it's the perfect time to go hiking! The plum blossoms at Mount Heming in Dayi County are in full bloom, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene. Don't hesitate, come now, or you'll have to wait another year! Travel Guide Navigate directly to "Mount Heming Taoist Temple." Starting from the Chengdu-Wenchuan-Qionglai Expressway entrance in Chengdu, the entire journey is a little over 60 km, about a 1-hour drive. You can park your car at the entrance of the Taoist Temple and start your hike up the mountain from the small path on the right. Hiking Tips The mountain path is entirely stone-paved and can be challenging, so please be careful. When you encounter a fork in the road, choose the path with stones to continue your ascent. The initial section is the steepest and most difficult part of the climb. However, once you persevere and reach the top, the vast sea of flowers will make it all worthwhile. This steep section is about 1.5 km. Don't underestimate it; it can be quite a workout for those who don't exercise regularly! Sightseeing Guide After reaching the first sea of flowers, don't stop! Continue climbing for another two or three hundred meters to reach the "Paragliding Park." If you're feeling adventurous, try paragliding and enjoy a bird's-eye view of the beautiful spring scenery. The "Paragliding Park" is located at the top of the mountain. There's a road there. Walk a few hundred meters to the left along the road, and you'll encounter an even larger sea of flowers – the "Daping Forest Pan Park." The facilities here are well-equipped, with farmhouses offering meals and drinks. If you don't want to endure the strenuous climb or have limited mobility, navigate directly to "Daping Paragliding Park" and drive directly to the top of the mountain to enjoy the flowers. Estimated Trip Duration The entire round-trip hike takes about 3–4 hours. Our phones showed a distance of nearly 8 km, but it's not actually that far. We took many detours while digging wild onions and picking Houttuynia cordata on the hillside. If you're just hiking and enjoying the flowers, the entire round trip should be a little over 6 km. Equipment and Environmental Protection Reminder The mountain roads are uneven. Wearing comfortable athletic shoes and bringing trekking poles can make your hike easier. Please protect the environment and do not leave any trash on the mountain, so we can all keep this beautiful spring scenery pristine.
