4A scenic spot, it is a temple building to commemorate and worship our great thinker, politician, and educator Confucius. Its existing scale, architectural level, and preservation are only second to Qufu Confucius Temple and Beijing Confucius Temple. 1⃣️Zhusi Yuanyuan Square (Pictures 2, 3-4): 'Zhusi' refers to the two rivers 'Zhu Shui' and 'Si Shui' in Confucius' hometown, and 'Zhusi Yuanyuan' means the long history of Confucianism. 2⃣️Lingxing Gate (Picture 7): A rare architectural form in the country, four middle columns penetrate the ridge and protrude more than two meters above the roof. The column is covered with a Yuan Dynasty Panlong blue and white porcelain cover made by Jianshui ancient kiln. The meaning originates from the saying of Zhu Xi, a great scholar of the Song Dynasty, 'Confucian truth can communicate with heaven, it is omnipotent and omnipotent.' 3⃣️Apricot Altar (Pictures 17-18): The original building was destroyed, and this building was built in 2000. In the middle stands a 'Confucius Saint Xian Song Picture' stele from the Ming Dynasty Tianshun period. The inscription is the 'Praise of Confucius' by Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty, with a total of forty-eight characters. The first forty characters are Emperor Gaozong's praise of Confucius, and the last eight characters are a call for subjects to respect Confucius. This stele was originally given to Quzhou Confucius Temple in Zhejiang by Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty. After the Yuan Dynasty destroyed the Southern Song Dynasty, this stele moved to Jianshui with the name of the original capital 'Lin'an' and was passed down to Jianshui Confucius Temple. 4⃣️Predecessor Temple (Pictures 9, 10-12): The three big characters were written by Wang Wenzhi, a calligrapher, when he took office as the prefect of Lin'an. On the front of the main hall, there are 22 carved flower screen doors, which are very lifelike and exquisite. The two stone dragons embracing the pillars on both sides of the hall are even more unique. They are carved from a whole huge stone using a combination of relief and through-carving techniques.
