Dreaming in the Rhinoceros Palace in Ancient Rome/Choosing a hotel in Rome

took almost no time or effort, because I had been following Rhinoceros Roma's website and Instagram account for a long time, drawn to their interesting design! (I especially recommend checking out their website—it's incredibly surprising and avant-garde.) Perhaps because of its gallery + apartment format (they call themselves apartments, not a hotel), Rhinoceros's presence on various platforms feels like a series of experimental art projects. The stylish outfits, novel editing, and unique perspectives in their short films are so captivating that you'll want to pause and admire every frame. So, I arrived with incredibly high expectations. ⛪ Rhinoceros Palace is an early 20th-century building located in Velabro, Rome's oldest district. Alda Fendi of the Fendi Foundation commissioned star architect Jean Nouvel to renovate the entire building. Exposed concrete walls, traces of graffiti, and modern glass combine to create this artistic, industrial, and stylish hotel/apartment complex. 🎨 The first floor of Rhinoceros Palace houses a gallery that regularly hosts exhibitions by various contemporary artists, and the top floor is a trendy bar and restaurant (the ancient city scene with the descending gods in my previous post was filmed here). The four floors in between contain guest rooms of varying sizes, all equipped with complete modern kitchens. The hotel is also right next to the city's most famous farmers market, so we bought the freshest ingredients every day and cooked our own meals (which is why, sadly, we didn't eat at any restaurants in Rome). 😘 I highly recommend it, as long as you don't mind the hotel beds resembling hospital beds (perhaps another form of art? But they're quite comfortable anyway). Oh, and their service is also warm and genuine. We chatted with them constantly (both via text and in person! An extrovert's dream).
