Experience Marriott in Shanghai, stay in a suite at Four Points by Sheraton Shanghai, Daning for just a few hundred yuan Hotel room: I was upgraded to a suite, which was standard business style. The living room was large, but the furniture looked a bit old. The bedroom was also spacious, with large corner windows, but the view wasn't great. The bathroom was too small, with a shared shower and bathtub, and not much space. It was the smallest bathroom I've seen recently. In comparison, the corner room at Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel also had a strange bathroom that was as big as the room. Dining: Breakfast was average, but filling. The hand-grabbed pancake was limited and served from a small cart. The hot noodle bar didn't look appetizing, so I didn't order it. However, I might have been spoiled by the food at Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel, which had freshly squeezed juice, eggs benedict, and hand-grabbed pancakes every day. Here, I just had a bite. Other: The welcome fruit was average, with apples, pears, tangerines, and oranges. Since Four Points doesn't have a lounge, I was given a drink voucher for the lobby bar. The options were limited, mostly just soda water, Coke, and Sprite, which are standard in Marriott lounges. Special note: The location downstairs was nice, with lots of shops. Business travelers won't have to worry about the location on weekends. Summary: If there's a low-price promotion or high-value points offer, you can stay here, but don't expect too much. You get what you pay for.
