Dalian Lake is the park's landmark landscape and one of the largest "pearls" on the "blue pearl chain" of the demonstration zone. In December, the "water forest" by Dalian Lake in the park enters its most beautiful season of the year. Pond cypress is often referred to as a "living fossil plant". In Qingxi Country Park, pond cypress trees start to change color around November every year, with their green leaves turning bronze.
