Don't Miss the Boat Trip to Toya Lake

Many people who visit Toya Lake choose to take a boat trip around the lake. Midway through the trip, you'll have the option to disembark at Nakajima Island. Most people or tour groups opt to continue the return journey, but if you choose to disembark, a refreshing walk through the forest will be an unforgettable experience. At the entrance, the staff will register your name and phone number and give you a pass to ensure you leave before the evening ends. I chose to walk the Akamatsu and Circuit Trails, which can be completed in about an hour and a half. Along the way, you can enjoy a relaxing forest bath and a beautiful view of distant volcanoes. When I returned to the entrance, I encountered a Japanese hiking group of more than 30 people, which made me realize how popular island hiking is among the Japanese.
