Pingding Ancient Canal

Pingding Ancient Canal is a beautiful place with a circular trail perfect for hiking. Due to the sound of flowing water and the shade of tall trees along the way, it is a popular summer resort. The Pingding Ancient Canal was built in the 15th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty and has a long history. It is listed as a cultural asset of Taipei City. The beginner-level circular trail includes the Pingding Ancient Canal Trail and the Daqitou Trail, with a total length of about 2.3 kilometers, taking about an hour to complete a loop. There are two main trailheads, both accessible by bus: the Zhishan Road trailhead and the end of Lane 95, Pingjing Street. The stone steps from Tianwozi Bridge to Taoziji Bridge are the steepest part of the entire route, with an up-down-up pattern that most people can complete. On holidays, there are many hikers here, and there is also a path leading directly to the Neishuangxi riverside, attracting many visitors who come to play in the water. It is a great place and highly recommended.
