When in Europe, visiting Freud's former residence is a must. He was born in Freiberg, Moravia, in the Austrian Empire, and was Jewish. He later studied at the University of Vienna Medical School and obtained a doctorate in medicine. His former residence is located in Vienna, Austria, where he lived for 47 years. In 1938, he fled to the UK due to his Jewish identity, and died in 1939 at the age of 83. He underwent more than 30 surgeries for oral cancer, and suffered from physical pain and the shadow of war. More than 10 years ago, "The Interpretation of Dreams," "Introduction to Psychoanalysis," and "Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality" became the introductory works for many people to learn psychology, and they have been fascinated by it ever since. Although Freud's theory that everything is driven by sexual instincts is controversial, and I personally think that his patriarchal consciousness (paternal authority) that cannot be surpassed led to his separation from his peers, which is his limitation. But there is no doubt that Freud was the pioneer and guide in exploring the human spiritual world (psychoanalysis), which is highly admired by future generations.
