Hubei 4-Day, 3-Night Self-Driving Tour: Embark on a Diverse Jingchu Journey!

🚗Hubei is a charming province. Here, you can encounter profound history, experience the magnificence of nature, appreciate cultural heritage, and indulge in tempting cuisine. So, we spent a 4-day, 3-night short holiday exploring three cities by car! 🏮Day 1: Arrive in Yichang, visit the Three Gorges Family in the morning and the Three Gorges Dam in the afternoon! 📍Three Gorges Family: Pass by the Gezhouba Dam (you must have read about it in your school days) and check in at the Three Travelers' Cave in Xiling Gorge. Take a boat to Longjin Stream, admire the stilt houses, enjoy Tujia folk song and dance performances, experience the folk customs of the gorges, and explore the ancient stone steps of the Bawanzhai and the wedding ceremony performance by the stream! 💰The Three Gorges Family is divided into Water Family, Mountain Family, Stream Family, and Today Family. The entrance ticket is CNY 210 per person, including admission, ferry, and shuttle bus. 📍Three Gorges Dam: After entering the scenic area, you need to transfer to a sightseeing bus (CNY 35 per person) to visit Tanziling, the 185 Viewing Platform, and the Cofferdam Monument. These three different locations offer a bird's-eye view, a level view, and a bottom-up view of the Three Gorges Dam! 📍Tanziling: Overlooking the entire Three Gorges Dam, it is the best place to view the dam. 📍185 Viewing Platform: At the same height as the top of the dam, you can experience the magnificence of the dam up close. The sunset over the dam is absolutely stunning! 📍Cofferdam Monument: Learn about the construction process of the Three Gorges Project. 🛎You need a pass to enter the Three Gorges Dam scenic area. You can apply for it in advance on the WeChat mini-program or on site. 🍲In the evening, we chose the local Heizi Restaurant to enjoy some fish! 🏮Day 2: Enjoy the riverside scenery of Yichang in the morning, and arrive in Jingzhou at noon (ancient city wall, Jingzhou Museum, Guan Yu Shrine) 📍First, have some rice noodles at Huangjiatang, then climb the Binyang Tower. The city wall is well-preserved, overlooking the moat and the old city, allowing you to experience the profound history and ancient charm of "Iron Jingzhou". (approx. 2 hrs) 📍Jingzhou Museum: The museum has a rich collection, including Chu cultural relics and the remains of the Chariot and Horse Pit. Learn about the construction techniques of the ancient city wall, the stories of its restoration throughout the dynasties, and its cultural journey. (approx. 1.5 hrs) 📍Guan Yu Shrine: Highlights Guan Yu's spirit of loyalty, righteousness, benevolence, and courage. Learn about the culture of the Three Kingdoms period and the life story of Guan Yu. (approx. 1 hr) 🍲In the evening, head to Hubu Alley in Wuhan for a bowl of hot dry noodles! 🏮Day 3: Hubei Provincial Museum in the morning, Yellow Crane Tower in the afternoon, and the night view of Jiangtan Park in the evening! 📍Hubei Provincial Museum: As seen on National Treasure, this museum houses national-level cultural relics, including the Sword of Goujian, the Marquis Yi of Zeng Chime Bells, and the Liangzhuang King Collection. 🛎Make sure to book in advance! (It is recommended to spend 3-4 hrs here, as the saying goes, "three parts looking, seven parts listening") 📍Yellow Crane Tower: The landmark building of Wuhan! Remember the line "My old friend says farewell to the west at the Yellow Crane Tower, amidst fireworks in the third month, heading down to Yangzhou"? Climb the tower and enjoy the distant view of the Yangtze River Bridge! (Book in advance to avoid queues, allow 2-3 hrs) 🍲Hubu Alley or Jiqing Street Night Market, try various Wuhan duck dishes! 📍Jiangtan Park: A good place for a post-meal stroll, enjoy the scenery of the Yangtze River, and walk along the riverbank. There is also a light show on both sides of the Yangtze River (7-9 pm). 🏮Day 4: East Lake Park in the morning, Wuhan University in the afternoon! 📍East Lake Park: Take a boat trip, stroll along the lake, or rent a shared bike to experience the tranquility of the "city's green heart". Climb the Chutian Tower for a panoramic view of East Lake, with Moshan Mountain on the opposite bank. (2-3 hrs) 📍Wuhan University: Check in at the rebuilt archway (2013), and enjoy the cherry blossoms in March!
