Hotel 3-Star di Upper Austria, Austria

The room was great, very clean, and comfortable. The location right by the lake district offers a beautiful view; you can see the lake as soon as you open the window. The surrounding boat dock and train station are also very close, which is super convenient. Since it's a self-check-in hotel, there might have been a miscommunication between the hotel and Trip.com, as the guest didn't receive the check-in password. However, the owner was very patient in resolving the issue and even upgraded my room for free, which was incredibly helpful.

Die Lage direkt am Hauptplatz ist ideal, hier ist alles fußläufig erreichbar und die Straßenbahn hält vor der Türe. Das Design des Motel one, wie überall einmalig und schön; dass man einer Alleinreisenden Frau aber erst mal ein dunkles Loch mit Fenster zu einem 2qm ”Licht”-Schacht anbietet ist fast schon sexistisch. Mein Bruder bekam vor einiger Zeit, auch alleinreisend, sofort ein schönes Zimmer zum Hauptplatz. Lästig auch, dass die Zimmerkarte schon eine halbe Stunde vor Checkout time gesperrt ist und das Zimmermädchen drängelnd klopft, obwohl das ”Nicht stören Schild” an der Tür hängt.

My room was clean, bright, and had an amazing view of the mountains — waking up felt like a postcard moment every morning. The staff were warm and welcoming, always ready to help with tips for activities or transport. Breakfast was really good too — fresh, hearty, and exactly what you need before a day of exploring. Location-wise, it’s great if you want easy access to hiking spots, nature, and those breathtaking Austrian landscapes. Everything felt simple, relaxing, and stress-free, which is exactly what a mountain getaway should be. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Dachstein — comfortable, friendly, and surrounded by unbeatable scenery. 🇦🇹🤍🌲

Sehr sauber, super Service der Mitarbeiter. Einzig die Zusatzkosten für das Parken könnten den ein oder anderen stören.

This hotel is at the end of the lake. The hotel serves a really tasty buffet lunch for 15.90 Euros. It includes, salad, soup, probably 3 or 4 meat dishes and  dessert. I was there 10 minutes before a huge group , maybe 50 in all arrived and I had to hurry myself to get my food because it would be a long wait. When I was eating people can’t squeeze by each other but I only ate there once and  since it will rain that afternoon I didn’t waste any time. I have to say the staff was ok. A lady checked me in quite efficiently. I paid the occupancy tax and I got the key. When I arrrived at 11:45 am, there was no one in the small reception office. A waitress was really serving diners. There is a man who worked at the deli /sausage shop next to it to help out. I have to say the staff there in general wasn’t that welcoming. I wish they had been more pleasant and show a little smile and happiness in their work. It seemed like she was there because she had no other choice.   The room is 12 at the end of a long hallway. There is a big window. The room is small but I was fine with it. No complaint. The other thing is I wish they put a table lamp on the small desk. Otherwise, the room has enough shelf space for me. The morning buffet is excellent. It offered some tomatoes, small baby coins , cucumbers, many different of rolls, several varieties of ham , salami, egg, sausages, yogures, juice, cereal.  The coffee is made with coffee beans and it was excellent. The breakfast is the best. The small village has practically nothing. There is another hotel 10 to 15 minutes that serve dinner. Another town Bad Goisern is 2.4 miles to the north accessible by train or by bus where there is a Hofer ( Aldi in the U S ) and other supermarkets and restaurants. If you don’t have a car, you have to be prepared something or pay to eat at the one and only restaurant that I knew. On the other hand, this hotel has a microwave oven and one water kettle in case you have instant noodles. The bakery a few steps is expensive. I had a coffee and a sweet roll for 8 Euros.  The hotel is a few steps from a trail that takes you down 6 miles to Obertraun . The trail is in good condition and a large distance is by the lake. You can find the trail in Alltrails. There is a restaurant called Seecafé Obertraun that you can rest to have a sandwich , coffee or a beer. The sitting is by the lake and there is a clean restroom . The waitress and waiter were both friendly.  If I have to do it again, I would take a bus to Hallstatt from there . I think the bus number is 542 to 544. It should be cheaper than the ferry which is a rip off . 12 Euros for a 25 minutes ride. Bus is cheaper . The ferry is a fraud and it shouldn’t charge that much. I didn’t know there is a bus connection from there. All in all, this hotel is quite decent. The hotel doesn’t serve dinner but the buffet lunch is quite adequate. If you eat at 2:00 pm ( I think it closes at 2:30 pm ), you won’t need to dinner. Aside from the not so welcoming one out of 3 staff members, price is unbeatable. I notice that the price doesn’t change if you book early or late and doesn’t use dynamic pricing which I hate. If there is availability, you pay the same price which is more than fair. I read that one guest complaInts about the smell from the kitchen and the meat market next to it. It isn’t really an issue. There is a door on the second floor leading down to the kitchen and meat market. Someone closed the door in the morning. Some people just was so nitpicking when they are angry which is not justifiable. I believe the owner offers a decent , clean room for a very fair price as Hallstatt is really touristy and this hotel is a much better option that staying in Hallstatt and pay overpriced food and lodging with every shop sells souvenirs. If you are in the area, this hotel is an excellent choice.

We enjoyed our stay at Landhotel Post in Ebensee at Traunsee! The location is dreamy – directly on the lake and at the same time in the charming place, perfect for excursions to the beautiful region. Our room was very comfortable, clean and lovely furnished so we immediately felt well. We can recommend the hotel fully!
