Asim9It was fun to see the town via the river cruise. Most of the boat is covered, which is helpful on hot days. Recommend sitting by the window so you can get a view both ways. One side of the boat saw a huge monitor lizard on their side (not in the water).This cruise is highly recommended for anyone visiting Melaka. The cruise makes a 40-min round trip up the Melaka River and best time is at sunset. The downside is that you will have to wait a bit for them to have enough numbers to start the ride even though they say the ride is every 10minutes which is not exactly true. The total ride time is 7mins. It's air conditioned so it's quite a comfortable ride and it's not very scary even for people who have heights. Admission is free, but be prepared to climb stairs to reach the top, making it less accessible for strollers.Once at the top, you are greeted with a stunning view of the ruins of a former Portuguese cathedral, which has since been taken over by the Dutch.
