Merdeka Square is surrounded by many buildings of historical value, including the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the Royal Selangor Club, the National Museum of History, the Anglican St. Mary's Cathedral, etc. Each of these buildings has its own characteristics. , integrating a variety of architectural styles.
At the southern end of the square stands the world's tallest flagpole, 100 meters high. The national flag flutters in the wind, making it one of the must-visit attractions for tourists.
