Belgrade Fortress

avatar
Tandi1984
The city is loud and bustling. Busy roads, busy streets and busy shops. This is like an oasis of calm that separates the bustle from the rivers. The fortress is well maintained and beautiful, with so many directions to choose for a walk afterwards. I chose to walk along the rivers whilst marvelling at the fortress on the hill. it’s easy to imagine why this place was chosen as an overwatch, very little can get in or out undetected.

The Temple of Saint Sava

amazing so beautiful and worth to spend a few hours exploring.i like the fact candle burning is done outside hence preserving paintings. The tiling and mosaic work is just outstanding.

Chinese Cultural Center

The stone monument of three Chinese journalists who died in front of the site of the former Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia, we came here to hang the heroes who slept in a foreign country, don't forget shame! The new "China Cultural Center" building on the site reflects the rise of the Chinese.

【Knez Mihailova Street】 Knez Mihailova Street Knez Mihailova Street is connected to the Karamegdan Castle at one end and the Republic Square (Trg Republika) at the other end. It is the most central commercial street in Belgrade, just like the Champs Elysees in Paris. If you choose to stay, staying near here is the best choice. There are some alternative street performers during the day, and the surrounding bars will be very lively after the shops close at night. The street consists of a large number of buildings from the reign of the Obrenovic and Karajolyević dynasties. The street is about 700 meters long and connects Kalemegdan to other parts of the city. The performances of street singers add to the overall atmosphere of the walk. There are many cafes and restaurants on this street, serving traditional Serbian food. The crowd is densest in the evening.

National Museum of Serbia

The museum exhibition is very well organized. On the ground floor you can see different archeological items found over centuries, as well as coins and banknotes used in Serbia throughout history. The first floor has art from different periods(permanent exhibition), and the last floor is where the temporary exhibitions are situated. The cheaper ticket is 300 dinars, and the entrance is free.on Sundays. The staff is welcoming amd helpful. Taking photos is allowed, but you need to leave your coat, umbrella, backpack, etc. in the wardrobe.
