【位置】 喜洲镇往海舌方向，出镇走不远就到，稻田里远远看到一处黄色围墙的院子，很是显眼。 【环境】 古色古香、精致大气的门头，一看就是有年代的老宅子，门口有当年林登夫妇收购、修复此建筑的说明。 【服务】 每天下午13-17点可以免费参观酒店一楼一进的院子，店员的英语很流利，店内住客外籍也多。 【房屋设施】 房子确实是有历史的宅子，不过个人认为在大理、洱海这一片，并不算特别出色，房间也不算特别豪华舒适。 房价位于大理第一，个人认为性价比不高，完全就是个名气，大理有特色的客栈多了去了，大家自己选择吧。 历史： 此院落，可以说是白族建筑师跟杨品相老先生智慧的结晶，是白族建筑之精品，从设计到施工都浸透着原主人的心血，他亲自设计、亲临施工现场指挥，精益求精，充分发挥了他的聪明才智。1948年落成至今已六十余年，依然十分坚固。原大理市政府将其定为市文物保护单位，1987年省政府定为省级文物保护单位，并于2001年6月被国务院列为国家级文物保护单户。 老院落原主人杨品相及兄弟杨民相，曾担任喜洲商帮 &ldquo;鸿兴源&rdquo;经理。从事进出口贸易，在抗日战争期间，首创开通印度经西藏至云南的贸易通道，对抗日战争时期保障大后方的物资供应，和抗日战争时期云南经济的发展都做出贡献。 喜林苑英文叫Linden Centre, 由来自美国的林登夫妇一手创办的。林登夫妇曾经在亚洲游历了二十多年，80年代初期就作为留学生第一次到过中国，之后又作为外企驻华高管和顾问，后来会美国开办自己的艺术画廊。 他们一直梦想着可以开辟一条通往探索，学习和分享中国历史文化的道路，故在美国开办多年艺术画廊后，再次返回中国，开始了他们漫长而艰苦的中国文化研究与学习之旅。他们花了四年时间走遍中国的大江南北，去过很多有着丰富历史文化的地方，最终因热爱云南少数民族地区的民风习俗与历史文化，便决定定居在云南大理的一个古镇&mdash;喜洲。 林登夫妇于2004年考察了喜洲古镇之后，就想把把杨家大院作为他们的文化会所。通过两年时间与当地政府以及文化部门进行不断谈判沟通后，说服他们有能力对该院落进行保护并妥善修复，最终他们的努力和真诚终于换来了当地政府的信任与支持。 同时也跟当地各级政府领导花费了大量的时间与资金对整个院落进行了研究和修复，多年的梦想通过他们不断的努力最终于2008年4月以一个&ldquo;喜林苑&rdquo;呈现在世人面前，并真正的开始了他们的&ldquo;文化之旅&rdquo;。
