This resort has the potential to be good as it looks well, has a decent pool area and the rooms are well proportioned. There is just something missing in the fine detail of running a resort. Breakfast was decent but we found dinners disappointing, particularly the risotto which was delivered cold and then seemingly microwaved when we pointed this out. We attended a Sao Joao pool celebration which was a bit disappointing, it supposedly started at 12.30 but decorations were still going up at 1pm. Most disappointing was when we arrived very early due to a night train arriving four hours early but we’re not offered as much as a glass of water and when we asked if our bags could be stored whilst we purchased breakfast we were told no and just to eat poolside. Saying that most other staff we dealt with were friendly.

Breakfast was superb. Chef prepares food in front of you. Pool, villa and overall property is clean and neat. Towels are replaced everyday. Friendly owner and staff. 24*7 security person at the property, cameras are in place. Centrally located. Most of the sights are at a distance of 40-45 mins away on two-wheeler.

I have never stayed in such a filthy hotel in my life. We found black mould in all the rooms on the walls and particularly in the bathrooms. the refrigerators were un-usable with contamination. When the hotel management was asked to clean the rooms they made a half hearted attempt to clean the rooms. We had to show the staff how to clean and even then the rooms were only just habitable. The swimming pool had serious safety issues that were highlighted to the management and then ignored by them. The whole site is running with rats. I don't recommend anyone staying at this hotel ever. and I would also recommend that any pictures of hotel rooms on their web are carefully examined as the pictures of the ”Martins Comfort” hotel are completely misleading. I gave the Jasminn a 5* review last time and it had got even better for our second visit! Little touches here and there that make a difference, and some bigger touches like revamping the bathrooms to give the overall impression of a quality hotel. It seems that the Jasminn is catching on with several of our fellow guests back for their second or more visits and it's hardly surprising. I think the hotel is perfect for my wants and I'll be back again too! What's the attraction? The staff...attentive and very welcoming and friendly. The rooms large and spacious and everything spotlessly clean. The location...a quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle. Not for those that want dozens of shops, bars and restaurants at close hand. The beach... a regular shuttle will get you down to a fairly pristine beach where you can walk for miles on golden sands perhaps stop at a beach shack for a beer as you go. Lots of lifeguards on duty too so choose where to swim and don't ignore the red flags. Food.... the hotel's restaurant is excellent and so too are a couple of other eating places within easy walking distance but take a torch to make sure you are seen in the dark. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Spent most of it either by the pool or walking on the beach. The two swimming pools are well maintained and this year there were more sun umbrellas available too. It was never a problem getting a sun bed and most folk seem to head to the beach for the day. Will my wife and I be back? Most definitely! We can't wait!
