The hotel looks beautiful and is… unless you get the dud room! The room we were given has a view and entrance right onto the main driveway of the hotel rather than the beautiful courtyard that is advertised. It is also right next to the service area and the laundry trolley rattles all day. Also they was a sewage- like stench in our room. My guess would be this accommodation block used to be a horse Stable and has been renovated. We came from New Zealand and booked for 3 nights many months in advance after looking at Trip advisor reviews. The hotel receptionist actually agreed that our room is substandard! However they were fully booked and could not offer a solution. To make it worse the male receptionist was not sympathetic and was very rude to me when I calmly and politely explained the situation! Honestly because I this I would not recommend booking unless you could guarantee a better room. However on a more positive note the breakfast Buffet was superb.

Hotel was selected by Trafalgar as part of a northern France tour. Room satisfactory and was able to sleep well. There is not enough lifts so had to go down with stairs or wait a while but used lift to go up. Water is provided in the corridors where you can fill up your water bottle from the dispenser at the end of the corridor. Breakfast which is a buffet was satisfactory. Hotel is somewhat distant from the nearest convenience store or bar. There is a pool at the hotel which appeared popular given the warm days experienced. Staff were polite and courteous.

Excellent experience. Hotel is beautiful, clean, great location, fantastic service. We were in room 41, which is a 3 unit(?) building separate from the main hotel building. Our room was quiet and spacious. The bed and linens all top quality. Big shower with rainforest shower head, great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We did not opt for the breakfast, it was a short walk into town. Ample parking, which is secured at night, very safe. I would highly recommend staying here, we liked everything about this hotel.

Pas d’intimité pour la douche car on sort directement dans la chambre Pas possible si on loge avec un adolescent Petit déjeuner bon à un tarif très raisonnable . Mention spéciale pour la Vache Qui Rit ! Problème : forte odeur de cigarette dans le hall d’entrée A noter pour sortir avec l’ascenseur il faut appuyer sur le 1 et non le 0. J’ai beaucoup tourné avant de comprendre. Une étiquette avec mention « sortie/ Exit «  dans l’ascenseur serait la bienvenue.

This is a really lovely hotel - all the windows and doors were open when we stayed during hot weather so the place was light and airy. The staff are really helpful and welcoming. Our room looked out onto the terrace and garden area where guests can have a drink and or something to eat. The breakfast offered a lot of choices and was very good quality. If you have never been to Amboise before it is a beautiful place with plenty to see and do but there is very little in the way of public transport and we struggled to get a taxi back to the train station. Depending on how quickly you walk the hotel is about a 25 minute walk into the centre which is beautiful.

We stayed here for a Loire Valley cruise extension with AMA waterways. The hotel looks just like the pictures and the staff was very friendly. The beds are comfy, the bathroom was huge. Breakfast was more than adequate. We had a group meal the first night and the food was so good that everyone on our tour booked the restaurant for the following night. The restaurant meal moved slowly but it was delicious - we were there 2.5 hours for our 3 course tasting meal - which was really 5 courses because they add in an initial appetizer and an after dessert tray. We didn't use the pool but the pool area looks nice.

The ibis Amboise hotel is located in the heart of the Loire Valley's castles and vineyards. Easily accessible from the A10 and A85 highways, the hotel is located 2.5 miles from the downtown area. The hotel has air conditioning and no elevator. We have a brand-new bar and restaurant serving Italian dishes, as well as free and enclosed parking. WiFi is free throughout the hotel for our guests.
