This hotel is amazing for all the following reasons: 1. We were always made to feel welcome by all the friendly, helpful staff. 2. The location is quiet at night which is perfect for families or couples wanting a quiet break. It's right on the beach with plenty of sunbeds on either side of the river. You are more likely to find vacant sunbeds on the left side of the river (across the bridge) as long as you don't mind the local geese roaming about (we found them to be quite inquisitive and comical). If you wish to swim in the sea we would advise you swim on the right side (across the other side of the pier from the river) as there are freezing cold pockets of water from the river which mingle with the much warmer sea water. 3. The hotel was very clean. Our room was cleaned daily and all the communal areas were spotless. 4. The food was pretty tasty, some may say it's repetitive and not terribly exciting but they do vary some of the meat and fish and there are a few local dishes thrown in so you can be adventurous or as safe as you like. The breakfast was also very tasty and there were salads, cakes and sandwiches as well as limitless ice creams available all day. 5. The all inclusive drinks were limited to about 7 different cocktails, self service beer on tap, local wines, local spirits and mixers and standard teas and coffees. I wish that we had upgraded to all inclusive plus for the full choice of deluxe cocktails and hot drinks but by the time we realised the difference it was too late for the 30 Euros each deal. We were told that a single day's upgrade would amount to approximately half the whole weekly cost so decided with a heavy heart not to bother. We feel that the staff could have made more effort to sell this upgrade to us on day one by offering one free complimentary upgraded drink so we could see the difference and make an informed choice. 6. The entertainment was lively and engaging, there was plenty for little kids to do including a bubble party, multiple play areas, nightly kids disco/entertainment. There was also live music and dancing for the adults later. The games room had a pinball machine, table tennis (no charge) and a pool table for 2 euros per game. The pool table wasn't exactly flat but it was fine for a fun non-competitive game or 2! 7. The pools were kept clean and we both had a very enjoyable treatment at the spa. We paid for a facial and neck, scalp and shoulder massage but ended up also having a free foot massage, sauna and jacuzzi thrown in which made it a very reasonably priced pamper day!! The therapist was very professional, knowledgeable and skilled in her work. We chose a sea view room and didn't regret it! It was lovely to open the curtains every morning to be greeted by the sea view and sound of waves crashing in. We used the balcony every day to play games and take in the wonderful view out across the pool, bar area, river, pier and beaches! Because we upgraded we also got local wines, water, fruit b
