My husband and I only spent one night here after moving to a more centrally located hotel in the downtown in the beautiful old district. We cannot say that the district that this hotel is located in is ideal for exploring Porto, unless of course you okay with using Ubers, taxis, metro, etc. It is located in a rather dark and questionable area. It is also about a 40 minute walk to downtown from this hotel. However, the staff here are very friendly, the breakfast was great and the room, although a bit on the small side was more than adequate.

The bed was very comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well, the breakfast was copious and the service very friendly. If I have a quibble, it's that floors weren't cleaned in my room, and that the restaurant menu wasn't extensive. Since the hotel is a bit far from the centre it would have been good to have wider choices in the menu, especially to do with Portuguese food. But a very good hotel overall.

Cerquita de la estación de tren y bus de Campanha, pero a un paseo largo de la zona turística, aunque a un pasito en metro. Buena atención del responsable, la habitación bastante bien, baño gigante y hasta una terrazita. Destaca la zona común, donde se ofrece té y café durante todo el día así como fruta y croissants, frutos secos y hasta vino de Oporto, posibilidad de cocinar y de relaj**** en una terraza. A la mañana, uno se preprara su desayuno, se dispone de el frigorífico donde hay tipos de leche, jamón, queso, mantequilla.. nutella, cereales, muy completo la verdad.. bastante bien este alojamiento, recomendable!

Very unusual setting and a nice stay as part of an Odysseys tour. The public spaces for the hotel, in the classic palace building, are gorgeous. The sleeping rooms, and corridors, not so much... The breakfast rooms are stunning and the food offered had excellent options and was delicious. We had a group dinner in the hotel and the service and food was great. The grounds are lovely and worth a stroll, and it has great views of the river. The downside is the sleeping rooms are in the adjacent building that was a factory or warehouse. The room was large with a very comfortable bed and good furniture and the bathroom was well fitted out, had good storage and a makeup mirror. The bathtub had high sides and might be challenging for some people to get in and out for a shower. The issue I had with the room was the décor and lighting. It was DARK. The walls and ceiling were all painted in a dark ochre, with a ginger carpet. The bath had small dark brown tiles. The lighting was all small halogens. With one window, it really felt dark, even during the day. The halls in the sleeping room building were also REALLY dark, with some artifacts in display cases. It felt darker than even a museum exhibit of rare books!! Again, the sleeping room was very comfortable and clean; the lighting just was just so dim...
