2025 is finally here and things are finally starting to look better for travel, whether it be domestically or internationally. Most of us have been travelling less the last few years which is why it's so important to make 2025 the year to get back into it.


What's better than a three day weekend? A four day weekend. And what if we told you that you could be taking at least 10 of them this year and still have annual leave left over?

To help you make the most of your 2025 public holidays, we’ve put together a handy quick-reference long weekend guide for where you should be taking annual leave to maximise the time you have off and take more of those ultra-long weekends.


January Public Holidays 2025


Public Holiday: New Year's Day Holiday (Wed, 1 January)
Long weekend: Wednesday, 1 January – Sunday, 5 January
Tip: Take 2 day annual leave on Thursday 2nd January and Wednesday 3rd to get five days off work


Public Holiday: Australia Day (Monday, 27 January)
Long weekend: Saturday, 25 January – Monday, 27 January
