Le Méridien Melbourne (Medium value for money) 6. Hilton Adelaide (Medium value for money) 7. The Langham Melbourne (Lower value for money) 8. Citadines on Bourke Melbourne (Best value for money) 9. Meriton Suites Waterloo, Sydney (High value for money) 10. Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel, Melbourne (Lower value for money) 11. The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne (Worst value for money) The Park Hyatt Melbourne stood out as having the best service among all 11 hotels. We arrived around 5:00 PM and were informed our room wasn't quite ready, requiring a 10-15 minute wait. Before I could even react, the front desk staff immediately offered complimentary breakfast for the next day as an apology, along with a voucher for two drinks at the lobby bar while we waited. Of course, we happily accepted! The hotel's location is a little outside the very center, situated behind Parliament House and right next to St. Patrick's Cathedral, which you can see from the rooms. Fitzroy Gardens, home to Cook's Cottage, is also within walking distance and worth a visit. I was very impressed with the hotel's amenities. The room even had a three-prong power outlet, a feature I didn't find in any other hotel. The 'old money' decor gave it a grounded and understated elegance. Breakfast was excellent and very extensive, with freshly made Western pastries that were incredibly delicious. I heard their flat white is even better than those from popular specialty coffee shops. The heated pool was long and narrow, feeling like it was definitely more than 25 meters. There's also a tennis court available for A$50 an hour, though you need to bring your own racket.

Overall, the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and quick to meet our needs. A special thanks to Anna and a Chinese male front desk staff member who helped us with our special requests. The restaurant staff also provided very attentive service. We booked a premium room and were given a high-floor corner twin room. It was spacious and very comfortable, with a complimentary mini-bar. The bed was on the softer side, the kind you sink into, but the pillows were great for sleeping! The room and bathroom were generally clean. The toiletries were an Australian brand, nice and fragrant. Do note that the mini-bar wasn't refilled during our multi-night stay. Downsides: 1. The wear and tear on the carpet was really hard to ignore, with some dark, sticky stains. 2. It wasn't a smart TV, but an older model with traditional channels. The breakfast was delicious. Although the menu was the same for two consecutive days and the selection wasn't extensive, it was refined. Each person received one complimentary espresso, and you could also order omelets/fried eggs separately. However, the coffee quality was a bit hit-or-miss. The hotel facilities include a gym and a rooftop bar with a dress code. The location is very close to Rundle Mall, and it's convenient to walk to the Art Gallery, Library, and Exchange Coffee. You can take the tram directly to Glenelg, and an Uber to the airport only took about 20 minutes. The only drawback is that the surrounding area is quite messy, and there are many Indigenous Australians (Aboriginal people) on the streets. First-time visitors to Australia should be cautious. In terms of value for money, I definitely recommend it!

The receptionist didn't check who I was and didn't disclose the hotel room number when I told her that my partner has already checked in and I had paid for the hotel room. They don't provide a spare key when 2 adults are staying in 1 room. The amenities were decent however they need to have their signs laminated for DO NOT DISTURB or for HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE as I couldn't put the sign on the door knob because it's made out of cardboard. I could hear mobile notification noises from the room next door throughout the early morning which is annoying, there should be a sign about that. Other than that, the amenities were functional and easy to use, the bed was comfortable for me to sleep in after 20 hour flight and easy to get to. The check out reception were great.

This is a great location and i enjoyed my stay albeit a couple of niggles. The shape of the room meant the TV was so far away from the bed. It seemed positioned perfectly to watch TV from the bath, but id rather have a comfortable viewing from the bed. It also meant two of us squeezed on to one side of the b Bed to be able to see the TV. The mattress was also uncomfortable and clearly needs replacing. It sloped one side and had a big bump in the centre. Overall a good hotel but I wouldn't stay in that specific room again.

The location is excellent, right in the city center. Everything is within easy reach. Parking is available nearby until 10 a.m. The kitchen is fully equipped, making it perfect for a family trip. The bedding is comfortable and soundproofed. I slept until noon on my first day. The hotel also has a historic cottage, which you need to contact the front desk to unlock. After the tour, you just need to close the door. The hotel also provides toothbrushes, so if you forget, you can ask the front desk for them. They also provide laundry detergent, which is rare in Australia; most hotels cost 3 Australian dollars. Occasionally, the official website offers a lower price than OTAs, and you can choose to order wine, late check-out, or early check-in. Consider the trade-offs.

It has a Rose Bagels restaurant on the Ground floor accessible from the lobby which is highly regarded and was taken over by new owners during our stay in November 2025. Entrance to the hotel is from Bentham street which has a few on street parking spots which are great if you can get them for free overnight parking. The apartments are spacious with a full kitchen, living/dining areas and laundry facilities. The first apartment we stayed at also had a separate study area which was great for getting some work done.

Great place to stay in town I had a one bedroomed apartment and it was fabulous. The room was spacious, fully equipped , and a great shower, and the bed was fabulous. The sheets and towels were of good quality, and I slept like a baby! The laundry was a brilliant addition, as was the servicing of the apartment. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. I really appreciated being able to store my luggage, too The only downside could be the location , as it is on a very noisy main street (Hindley St is full of food places, and there was a busy bar directly opposite the entrance). It didn't really bother me, but I could see it affecting families. All in all, I think it was fabulous value, and I would recommend it .

The hotel itself was fantastic—clean, comfortable, and the staff were friendly and professional. I really enjoyed my stay inside the property. However, the surrounding area was quite noisy on the weekend nights. There were many drunk people around, shouting and making a lot of noise, which affected the overall experience, especially when trying to rest. If you’re planning to stay here, I’d recommend requesting a quieter room or being prepared for some weekend nightlife noise.

As the cheapest non-dorm room available in central Adelaide, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel has history and character. The staff were very friendly and helpful; the food was good and the range of beer was great. The room was a bit basic, but hey, it’s a place to get your head down for the night. The washrooms are shared, but no hotel from that period will have en-suites. The water ran hot in the showers, just if you’re tall like me, be prepared to contort if you want to get under the stream of water to wash your hair!!

No car park attached to hotel, have to drive to car park yourself or pay $55 for a chauffeur to drive it. Room service menu was fancy stuff from the downstairs restaurant. Nothing simple. Not even room service breakfast available. On the note of the restaurant downstairs this is where the “buffet” breakfast was and I use that term loosely. Shocking variety. Even have to do our own coffees right in a tiny corner of the the room. One coffee at a time while the line gets bigger. We have to get a special order for eggs because the scrambled eggs are just mush. At least the toaster worked. And the space fits maybe 20 which is fine for a B&B but not for a 16 floor hotel. We had to have breakfast at 8 to avoid the crowds waiting at 9 and later. In the room itself (we had a suite), there were light switches EVERYWHERE. And they were all so confusing as you couldn’t see what they said. Then the one in the bathroom you had to walk in and close the door to access it. No fan ventilation for showers. Bath mats being so thin gets immediately soaked after one shower. No face washers. Bench was too low for a bathroom. Hand towels way too low. The size of the bathroom was nice though and the shower pressure was good. TV remote didn’t work properly, could not find all amenities like coffee, tea, fridge even etc. No nice hotel guide folder to help us out. The “desk” was the tv cabinet when there was plenty of space in the lounge area to have a desk. Then we had a balcony with no chairs or table to sit at (can easily have some out there and bolt them down for safety). The temperature stuff don’t even get me started. Uncomfy beds and flat pillows. I ended up sleeping on the lounger as it was more comfortable. I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. Wasn’t horrible but wasn’t great. The staff were nice though which was a nice change

We loved our stay at the Rydges hotel,the ambience, the service, the service providers and the entire crew were lovely.Being a first time in Adelide, the visit was made superb by the amazing experience we got from the hotel. Their rooms are clean, amenities are excellent, rooms are spacious, views are scenic and it is cvonveniently located to any major plae you would like to visit. I loved how generous their compliments are, including the fridge with merchandise that would be essential in the middle of the night or so! It was also fairly priced and we loved our spa and pool sessions. If you need to relax and unwind in a well hosted environment in Adelide, do'nt hesitate to make a booking. We checked into HotelMotel late in the evening and picked up the keys from the reception at Hotel Alba next door. It was a short walk to the motel. The group operates 3 hotels that are adjacent to each other including the Terrace Hotel on South Terrace which is the southern border of Adelaide City. The hotel has rooms on 2 floors surrounding a central carpark on 3 sides. Parking is free for HotelMotel guest whereas guests have to pay extra for secure parking at the other 2 hotels. HotelMotel has been recently renovated and won some awards for its upgrade. There are no lifts and bags need to be carried up a flight of stairs if your room is on the upper floor. The surroundings were very quiet which enabled us to have a good sleep. The room was comfortable and the bathroom modern. We would stay again on our next trip to Adelaide. There are not many options for places to eat late at night except for the Pulteney Pokies place around the corner which had friendly and helpful staff.

We are a family of 5 and we booked 3 rooms for 3 nights. The hotel did not give us rooms on the same floor. They said they had no idea that we were traveling together as I did not tell them we were traveling together. I answered the reservation of the 3 rooms was made under ONE booking, does it tell you we are traveling together or I was just booking the other 2 rooms for strangers .....The receptionist was speechless then, but nothing she could do as the hotel was fully booked she said. We showed up after the check in time of 2pm, but one of the rooms was not cleaned up yet and hence not ready, the other room had AC problem and also not ready. We spent 30 minutes in the reception trying to check in.... The room was noisy, after midnight bid noise came from the main door and toilet area basically every hour, waking us up in the middle of the night a few times. First I thought it was someone banging at the door, or a cleaner cleaning in the lift lobby. I opened the door but found nobody. The noise was consistent for the whole 3 nights. Other than the above, the hotel is well located and the price is reasonable. The staff at the reception are basically nice and helpful.
