After reading other reviews, they were all overwhelmingly positive. Having stayed in numerous hotels, the ANA InterContinental Beppu definitely ranks in my top three. First, let's talk about transportation: Beppu Station is quite small. Remember to exit from the West Exit (this was told to us by the hotel shuttle driver; apparently, many international guests wait for a long time at the East Exit only to find out it's the West Exit). The hotel is about a twenty-minute drive away. Next, the service: What was really surprising is that more than half of the hotel staff are non-Japanese. Every single foreign staff member spoke excellent Japanese, with perfect mastery of honorifics. Finally, the room facilities: The onsen (hot spring bath) is small but beautiful. The infinity pool isn't very deep, making it suitable for children. It was still a bit chilly in March, but luckily, there's a warm pool nearby where you can soak for a while. The restaurant offers great value for money. Children aged 6-12 get half price, which is around 2,700 yen. In the evening, there's an all-you-can-drink option for adults at 5,000 yen, including sparkling wine, house wine, shochu, and beer.

This trip exceeded my expectations and was very satisfying. The room was incredibly spacious and clean, with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering beautiful natural views. The private hot spring in the room was also a major highlight. Even though it was pouring rain, the staff were all incredibly polite and welcoming. Dinner was abundant and delicious. For breakfast, you have to go to a sister hotel in the same group next door, but the selection was excellent. The only thing to note is that it might be a bit inconvenient if you don't have a car, but you can take bus route 50 directly from Beppu Station.

An excellent experience! The beautiful environment offers stunning sunset and stargazing views, making it perfect for large families. Although it's a bit far out, the resort facilities provide everything you need, and there's enough to do on-site to keep you occupied all day. The included breakfast and dinner were plentiful, and the location is conveniently close to Kyushu Zoo and Yufuin, so you can easily add them to your itinerary.

Celebrated 520 (May 20th) by booking a more upscale meal that day, and the experience was great ❤️. The location is fantastic! It's a 5-minute walk to Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), so we went straight there after breakfast when it was less crowded. Regarding service, I have to say: it was the rainy season, and there were many staff members standing at the entrance, but they only bowed. It felt awkward watching adults and children run into the hotel in the rain to check in, and checking out involved carrying our own luggage in the rain too.

Facilities: The decor and amenities are really good, with a lot of character. There's even an open-air bath upstairs. Hygiene: Very good, spotless, though it felt a little cramped. Environment: Fantastic, an unbeatable sea view, just a bit far from Beppu Station. Service: Good, responsive and enthusiastic. The dinner and breakfast included (one-night, two-meal plan) were delicious, although some of the staff were a bit older and not all spoke English well.

There were also plenty of places to explore nearby in the evening, all within walking distance. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time.

Good but a bit ******. I have Japanese citizenship despite being of Caucasian ethnicity. The front desk employee asked me to submit a foreign resident ID without even confirming my nationality. Furthermore, Japanese citizens are not required to submit any ID. It was rude and concerning, as there are many non ethnically Japanese citizens in Japan. Other than that, the hotel was ok, nothing extraordinarily good though. Thanks for the service.

Very pleased with our one night stay at Beppu Daiiti Hotel. It was a short 5-minute walk to the Beppu Station. So convenient. Room was very clean and tidy and of a decent size. The staff at the counter were all so courteous and very helpful. Asked them about a private onsen where we could go and they recommended one and phoned to help us make reservations. Also gave us good info about Beppu Hells and the transportation we could take. If coming back to Beppu, we’ll surely book at this hotel again.

The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station. It was raining on the day we arrived, so we took a taxi which cost around 50 HKD. We had a fantastic sea-view room. Although the facilities were a bit old, they were very well maintained. The breakfast was abundant and also served in a restaurant with an amazing sea view. A truly great experience.

This four-star hotel's rooftop pool is even better than the five-star InterContinental's. I'd even say it feels better than Singapore's Marina Bay Sands, because the MBS rooftop pool sells sightseeing tickets, so there are too many tourists, which diminishes the experience no matter how well-designed it is. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options and even includes sparkling wine, which is a rare find in hotel breakfasts.

It was a great stay for us. Parking was available on the premises. The hotel was within walking distance of a large Don Quixote and a nice department store (Tokiwa). There are also some eateries nearby. We found the room clean and spacious by Japanese standards. Honestly, for what we paid, we were not expecting much, so this hotel did handily exceed our expectations. The toilet was quite small, so someone larger than the average-sized Japanese person might find it difficult to navigate.

The service was warm and attentive, and the location was convenient – less than a 10-minute walk from the station. There's also a bus stop right outside for buses to Yufuin. Although the hotel is a bit old, it's clean and tidy. The complimentary afternoon tea and desserts were especially delicious. The indoor and outdoor onsens were very comfortable. Overall, I had a great experience.

Our stay at Suginoi Resort was wonderful and very memorable. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a beautiful view that made the stay even more relaxing. The facilities were excellent, especially the onsen and family-friendly amenities. The dinner buffet had a wide variety of choices and everything was fresh and delicious, making it one of the highlights of our stay. Location was convenient and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Staff were friendly, polite, and attentive throughout our stay. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely love to visit again ♨️✨

The stay was decent overall, but there is definitely room for improvement. While the general experience was okay, the room cleanliness wasn't up to par—specifically, there was an unpleasant odor coming from the cups and the bathroom. Additionally, the door leading from the balcony to the hot spring room couldn't be securely locked, which was a bit concerning. With better housekeeping and maintenance, this would be a much better place to stay.

The hotel location is very good, right next to Baichi Hell and Hai Hell, and you can walk to the sights; but it is a little far from JR station, the bus is rickety for half an hour, and the fare is expensive, watching the fare rise all the way, Seeing my heart pounding. The Japanese-style room was booked, including one breakfast and one dinner. After two days of stay, the dinner was Hell steamed and rich beef, and the breakfast was a Japanese-style set meal. On the side, there are buffet meals. When I went to dinner, I helped to make the bed, tatami was super comfortable, the room was very quiet, and I could see the sea. There are two indoor and outdoor hot springs, and there are not many people in the hot springs. There is a private soup next to it, and there is also a free lees mask. The iron wheel 2 station is right next to the hotel, and it is convenient to get to Yufuin. The hotel staff was very enthusiastic. On the first day, a Chinese guy came to the reception and took them all the way to the room. They also introduced various facilities. The Japanese girl who received the reception was very nice. The smile from the heart was very warm. All in all, a great hotel.
