To be honest, Luoyang International completely exceeded my expectations. It truly deserves its five-star rating, from the service to the hardware facilities. I'm so glad I decided to upgrade to an executive room upon arrival; the experience was absolutely fantastic. Every single staff member at the lounge was incredibly kind! I honestly found the lounge food to be delicious! Happy hour consists of a self-serve buffet and à la carte main courses. That hot and sour Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles, in particular, was amazing!!! So, so good! I ate it two days in a row. However, I did find the afternoon tea mini cakes to be a bit average and not quite to my taste. Cocktail hour in the evening was also a big hit. The bartender, Ethan, was exceptionally friendly and kind! His name is Ethan, and he's really a wonderful person! The cocktails he made were perfectly to my liking. He even mentioned he taught himself how to make Mojitos, haha! And he kept saying he wasn't confident in his bartending skills! But I thought they were delicious! Truly, really delicious!!! No exaggeration, seriously. Every single staff member in the lounge was absolutely wonderful! I've had such a fantastic time these past few days! If I had to mention any downsides: Firstly, the fried food issue. The fried items at breakfast were soggy. I tried the hash browns again on the second day, and I wondered why they seemed so crispy – turns out they were completely dried out! And the whole batch in that warmer was dry. I think the hotel's heat lamps could use some adjustment; it felt like there was no heat under them whenever I went to get food, which might affect how fried items are kept. This was also an issue with the fried items in the lounge – very soggy. Secondly, the hotel doormen. I feel like this was a bit hit-or-miss. On our first day, when we arrived, there was a doorman at the entrance, and we were the only car there, but he was on his phone. He was a young man with glasses. I'm not sure if he was dealing with work or something else. We had to call out to him when we couldn't manage our luggage anymore before he came to help us. The second night we returned to the hotel, there was no one to greet the car or assist. However, on our checkout day and the young man who helped us change rooms were both exceptionally good! He seemed to be an intern and was incredibly proactive and diligent in everything he did! Many thanks to this young man! I regret not catching his name. The cleaning lady was also excellent. Thank you to every staff member at the hotel! I will definitely choose this hotel again! The service truly impressed me! Especially every staff member in the lounge! A big shout-out to the lounge team! Thank you all! I had a wonderful time in the lounge these past few nights!

This hotel was the best choice for our May Day trip to Luoyang! It's right in the heart of the old town, making it convenient to go anywhere. The attentive service was incredibly satisfying! This is truly the 'Pang Dong Lai' (a well-known, high-quality department store) of high-end hotels – the experience was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend all hotels across the country learn from and emulate this one! First off, they offer free pick-up and drop-off from the station! Even if the driver was temporarily unavailable, the hotel would help arrange a taxi and cover the cost. These little details really won me over! The room was super spacious, bright, and didn't feel cramped. The bedding was thoughtfully chosen, and you could even select your own pillow to suit different sleeping preferences – I relaxed instantly as soon as I lay down! Although the facilities are a little old, it didn't affect the experience at all. It was clean, tidy, and well-maintained, with great attention to detail. Any minor flaws were completely negligible. The breakfast was truly eye-opening, a proper Luoyang food feast! Authentic beef soup was available to our heart's content, and all local specialty snacks were covered. They even had fresh salmon of good quality. It was a perfect blend of Chinese and Western cuisine, offering incredible value for money – you could spend hours just enjoying breakfast! During our stay, we could also order complimentary snacks, pastries, and drinks. They provided warm hospitality and food throughout the day, so we could eat to our heart's content without even leaving the hotel! The staff were gentle and patient, always responsive, and we felt completely pampered throughout our stay. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Luoyang! I sincerely recommend it!

Cleanliness: Very clean, felt safe using everything! Environment: Good. The fifth floor has a beautiful terrace with nice views! However, I saw flies in the buffet restaurant every day, which probably needs to be addressed. Service: The hotel service was truly excellent! From check-in to check-out, from the welcome amenities to the farewell fruit, it really added to the experience. A big shout-out to the housekeeping staff! However, a small suggestion: it would be helpful to have an attendant in the self-service laundry room to assist guests. This would not only improve machine utilization but also make it more convenient for guests. Facilities: All pretty good. The only downsides were the breakfast coffee machine – no milk in the milk coffee… and the toilet in the room often got clogged. At first, I thought it was due to toilet paper, but it clogged even without it, so it's probably just old. The design of the bathroom door also allows water to spill out when showering, so you might step into a puddle if you're not careful… Overall, it was a decent stay, but as a five-star hotel, there's still room for improvement!

This stay at the Friendship Hotel definitely deserves a good review. The front desk service was thoughtful, warm, and attentive, offering tea and towels. Check-in was efficient and swift, and my needs were promptly met. A special shout-out to Guo Xiaodan at the front desk, who was genuinely warm, friendly, and professional. She patiently recommended local delicacies and nearby tourist attractions, which I really appreciated. The hotel environment is quiet and elegant, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the bedding is comfortable and cozy. The ventilation and lighting are good, and the location is convenient for getting around, with a subway station right outside. The complimentary late-night noodle soup was a unique touch. Overall, I am extremely satisfied; my stay experience was fantastic! I look forward to visiting Luoyang again. I haven't tried on Hanfu yet, so I definitely will next time!

Where should I begin. The hotel is fantastic. When you arrive you are greeted by friendly staff and a cup of tea while finishing check-in. The room was amazing overlooking the lake. The room was huge and had a great shower and bath with great views. The stay included breakfast that had a huge variety of food and drinks. With your stay you can use the next door fitness and 50 meters swimming pool and the sauna, hot bath and showers. I would recommend staying at this hotel when staying in Luoyang!

I stayed at the Huayang International Hotel in April 2017 when I came to Luoyang to see the peonies, and I was very impressed: excellent service, and the food on the second floor was fantastic (especially the braised carp, it was so delicious)... So when I returned to Luoyang, I chose the Huayang International Hotel again. Time has passed, and I can understand that the door frames in the room show some wear and tear. The receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and asked me to select 21 kinds of fruit (complimentary from the hotel), saying they would be delivered to my room in 40 minutes. I carefully made my selections, but to my surprise, a plate of fruit arrived less than 5 minutes after I got to my room. After unwrapping it and counting carefully, if you count each small tomato as one type, there were only about 12 varieties – nowhere near 21. I hadn't even checked 'pear,' so it seemed like this fruit was already prepared beforehand. I mentioned it to the front desk when I went out, and when I returned to my room before dinner, another plate was delivered, making it 21 varieties. However, aside from the bananas and small tomatoes, which were acceptable, the apples and nectarines tasted terrible – sour and astringent. I took one bite and had to throw them away, which was a waste and a shame. I suggest the hotel avoids playing number games and instead focuses on providing a few genuinely good-tasting fruits. Is that so hard? The room's cleanliness was excellent. For dinner, I wanted to order the braised Yellow River carp on the second floor, but I was told it needed to be reserved in advance and that all the carp were 4-5 jin (2-2.5 kg). There were only two of us; could we possibly finish a 4-5 jin fish? The next evening, I had a braised Yellow River carp, about 2 jin, at a small restaurant near Yingtiangate. Around 4 PM on my second day, a lovely staff member delivered a hand-drawn map of Luoyang's attractions. It showed the hotel's thoughtfulness, but wasn't it a bit late to deliver? The breakfast was quite abundant; the scallion pancakes were fragrant and tasty, but the beef pancakes were just average. The complimentary shuttle service to the high-speed train station was a thoughtful touch.

Several friends highly recommended we stay here if we were visiting Longmen Grottoes. I'm glad I listened to their advice, because their taste is excellent! The hotel is located on East Mountain, facing the Longmen Grottoes on West Mountain across the river. You can even see some of the grottoes from the rooftop terrace of Building 5. The hotel is right next to Xiangshan Temple and surrounds Bai Garden, offering beautiful scenery at every turn. The service is also excellent. You can book an electric shuttle at the front desk to take you to the East Gate of the Grottoes, then walk or take another shuttle to the Northwest Gate ticket office. After exploring the Grottoes and Bai Garden, it's just a short walk back to the hotel. The room type we booked even included a free send-off service to the station, which was very convenient. While the decor might be a little dated, the facilities are complete. It's clean and hygienic, with welcome fruit and complimentary snacks and drinks. The breakfast offers a wide variety of dishes, all rich and delicious, though the coffee was really not good, haha. We had lunch in the banquet hall, using a BOGO deal from Ctrip for two people, and the portion sizes were incredibly generous and tasty! Upon check-in, we received a voucher for the tea room on the upper floor's terrace. Enjoying tea and a book there was incredibly pleasant! The lady working at the tea room provided amazing service. Overall, I highly recommend it!

This hotel is excellent, truly deserving its place on this year's Black Pearl Guide. It's perfectly located right outside the main entrance of the Longmen Grottoes, just a few minutes' walk to the scenic area, and very convenient for reaching the high-speed train station or the city center. The surrounding area features Longmen Ancient Street, offering plenty of dining and shopping options. The hotel itself has a fantastic design, making it very photogenic. What's even better is the attractive price – the value for money is outstanding; I doubt you'll find a better deal on the entire Black Pearl list.

I came to Luoyang specifically for the peony blossom season, which is peak tourist season here. Hotel prices are higher, especially for those close to the core attractions in the Old Town, where the increase is even more significant. I ended up choosing this Holiday Inn near the Municipal Government in Luoyang's new district, and the experience was very good. The location is excellent. The subway station is right downstairs, making it super convenient to get to Luoyang's main peony viewing spots and other attractions. Since there are so many tourists right now, parking and traffic around the Old Town and flower viewing areas are a nightmare, so the subway is definitely the best option. Even though we drove, we parked the car in the hotel's underground parking, which was also very convenient. There are plenty of dining options near the hotel. While it might not have as many trendy, '网红' (internet-famous) restaurants as the Old Town, many places in the new district offer good value for money. Breakfast was standard for a Holiday Inn, but a nice touch was the upgraded coffee beans, which are the same as Luckin Coffee's and taste great. Everything else also met the usual Holiday Inn standards.

The room was great, and the front desk staff even helped upgrade our room type. It was a shame I didn't get admitted to China University of Mining and Technology back in 2019, especially since they had the alumni association sign right at the hotel entrance, haha. From the hotel's rooftop, you can enjoy a beer and the breeze while admiring Mingtang, Tiantang, and Yingtianmen. The breakfast was also plentiful, especially with lots of *huladong* (spicy soup) and beef. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

Before coming have added them in WECHAT which they have provided all the information needed. Excellent service from the reception especially the lady Ms 孙 she is awesome and have full knowledge about the Longmen grotto. She has explained every details like which bus to take which station to stop so that you don't walk the longer way. She even explained the sequence of walking so that you will not missed the important part. Very very patience lady.

Pleasantly surprised! The price was about 60% of what the Friendship Hotel next door charged, maybe I got some kind of discount. They offer free shuttle service to the airport and high-speed rail station, and if the shuttle is full, they'll reimburse your taxi fare. I booked a room with queenside bed, bathroom, sink, shower AND bathtub but I was also shown two family rooms that have multiple beds and even living rooms. They were also super affordable. The hotel has no restaurant so you cannot have breakfast there. However - plenty of restaurants are within a 5 minute radius. There is also a supermarket and a couple convenience stores within 3 minute radius. The rooms and public areas are kept pretty clean. However - the various areas are in different states. The reception looks like it could need a renovation yesterday. The hallways leading to the rooms look pretty new while some of the rooms (e.g. family rooms) look pretty fresh while my room looked like it is close to being in need of a bathroom renovation. However - it was clean and still in good enough shape and in terms of pricing it was an absolute bargain. I paid way more for much worse in places like Shantou or Paris. Would I stay there again? If price levels remain the same I would absolutely stay there again. Very nice staff.

The hotel should pay attention to service quality and ensure that room amenities are complete before check-in, instead of just half-full bottles, making guests feel like they were trying to get something for nothing. The hotel room didn't have an exhaust fan (only buttons, no machine), so the towels smelled of cigarette smoke from the previous guest, and after using the toilet, you could only open the window to air it out.
