The facilities are amazing and the onsen was super clean the food was great as it can be! I would totally go back. I just hope they have options for travelers with dogs. Where they have beautiful garden to walk around and if dog was allowed the stay would be more efficient and comfortable. Amazing place!

The hotel is not close to Dogo Onsen street and you will need to drive or get a taxi if you want to go there. There are no restaurants or shops nearby the hotel. There is a walk nearby the hotel you can take which offers nice scenery in the woods. The hotel looks a bit dated particularly the bedrooms and the corridors. I asked for a quiet room facing the mountain instead of one facing a busy road and had to pay an additional 2200 yen. The hotel has a number of onsens and I like the outdoor ones best. The buffet dinner and breakfast offer good selection and I particularly like the dinner which offered nice teppanyaki beef and sushi. The hotel reception staff spoke very little English and the hotel did not reply to an email I sent them asking for transportation information to get to the hotel. There are buses near the hotel which go to Matsuyama and Imabari but they run infrequently.

This hotel is located on the top of a mountain and was designed by Tadao Ando. There are seven rooms in total, one per floor, including the new building and the main building. Because we arrived late today, the hotel left four staff members to serve us. They had been emailing us to inquire about the arrival time and whether we had food allergies. They were very caring and meticulous. We booked a semi-open-air hot spring forest room. The room is large, but the decoration style is very Andou style. The room has a private bath but it is not open-air, two bathrooms, and a mini bar with various drinks. The Ehime orange juice is very delicious. The whole hotel is Andou Tadao's gallery. The main features are spaciousness, natural light, concrete, and basement. It is a mini version of Chichu Gallery in Naoshima.

The room is large and expensive. It has a private hot spring ♨️ and complete facilities. It is a 3-minute walk from the main building of Dogo Onsen. It is especially suitable for getting up early to take pictures of the empty main hotel. The hot spring of the main hotel is open very late and there are more people than during the day. Much less. After soaking in Senri Chihiro's prototype building oil house (Dogo Onsen Main Building), you can also soak in a private hot spring when you return to the hotel. The hotel's hot spring water comes from the same water source as Dogo's. The reservation included breakfast and dinner. The beef in the set meal was delicious, and the other dishes were quite satisfactory. The price was due to the large room and private hot spring.

Excellent! The location is fantastic, right on Ookaido Street, meaning you can shop comfortably protected from both sun and rain. The onsen (hot spring bath) on the upper floor was exceptionally clean and delightful. They also offer free laundry washing, with drying available for 100 yen. Step right outside, and you'll find the tram station and a bustling food street. Virtually all of Matsuyama's highly recommended restaurants are within easy walking distance. Cannot recommend enough!

I stayed here as part of my Tokyo Love Story pilgrimage. The facilities, hygiene, and environment were all absolutely perfect, truly impeccable. The only issue was that when I booked, it showed no breakfast included, but the reservation slip provided by the front desk indicated breakfast. I returned the breakfast voucher to the front desk and asked them to double-check, as 3000 yen isn't a small amount. The front desk said they would verify and call my room, but I never heard back, even until check-out. For a hotel of this caliber, I really think this is unacceptable, especially since this was the part I was most looking forward to in Matsuyama. However, despite this minor flaw, the rest of my experience was absolutely perfect.

They treat Western guests with far more enthusiasm. When checking in alongside Western guests, the front desk staff only escorted them to their floor, completely ignoring Asian guests like me. It's 2026, and this kind of preferential treatment for Westerners is so out of touch and frankly, a bit embarrassing. On top of that, the duvet cover was torn. Is the hotel really struggling that much? 😓 I'm staying here for three nights purely because I can't be bothered to switch hotels. Matsuyama Castle is quite nice, though. As an established hotel in Matsuyama, I'd hope for a bit more class and professionalism. Also, the room is a bit cramped; it's difficult to open a 30-inch suitcase.

This really is the legendary couples' hotel, definitely not suitable for those with small children (you know what I mean!). But seriously, this is the biggest room I've ever stayed in in Japan!!! The room was so big we could open both our suitcases without them getting in the way. The bed was definitely a king-size. They also offer breakfast and free parking. All in all, for me, there are no downsides!!! I loved everything about it. I would definitely stay again.

Good location. The hotel locates near Matsuyama City Tram Station where is also the terminal station of airport bus. Matsuyama port is just 20 minutes train ride away. One may walk up to the Matsuyama Castle from the hotel within 40 minutes. The castle tram station and the Okaido shopping area are also within walking distance. Staff were friendly with satisfactory services and amenities. However it was always crowded at breakfast time. Be reminded it's Matsuyama City Station but not the JR Matsuyama Station (JR).

You can think of this hotel as a 'plus' version of a domestic Orange Hotel Crystal. The decor is that of a five-star hotel, but the price is that of a business hotel. The renovations were clearly done with great care, and the breakfast across all their locations maintains a consistent standard. They all feature a free rooftop hot spring bath with a view. I've stayed at various Candeo hotels in different locations, and overall, the bathroom facilities at the Ehime branch feel a bit old; I suspect it's an older hotel that was renovated without updating the bathrooms. In winter, since the windows don't open for ventilation, a lot of condensation builds up. At night, when there's a lot of condensation, it drips down the walls, leading to mold in those areas. This results in a musty smell when you first enter the room. It must also be quite a hassle for the cleaning staff to deal with the condensation in every room daily. What I disliked most was the lack of a duvet cover; a single sheet separates you from the duvet. I've only encountered this at the Ehime and Kagoshima branches, perhaps it's a local custom… there's nothing much one can do about it. Everything else was great.

The hotel's exterior and interior are both very traditional Japanese style. Upon reaching your floor, you need to take off your shoes and put them in a locker. There are geta (wooden clogs) under the lockers for you to wear when going out, which is convenient for soaking in the hot springs. Although the hotel doesn't have its own hot spring, visiting Dogo is all about soaking in the Dogo Onsen Honkan and Asuka no Yu, so it's not a big issue. Just remember to buy discount vouchers at the front desk first! Finally, the mandarin orange juice tap in the lobby, the all-you-can-use Imabari towels, and the breakfast buffet are precisely why I booked this hotel! 😆

Because it was a last-minute trip, location was my top priority. It's right next to Dogo Onsen, making it a great location for strolling through the shopping district at night. We stayed in a tatami room for four, and aside from the initially unpleasant tatami smell, everything was fine. The large windows provided a beautiful view. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and I was very satisfied. They had a variety of dishes made with Matsuyama ingredients, and the restaurant was comfortable. The staff were all friendly. The onsen was fantastic. The water was incredibly clean. It was convenient to use, and the view from the open-air bath was amazing. Having a Korean staff member made everything convenient.

Hotel has some distance from the main Dogo mall but it has shuttle bus running every 10 mins from 3-10. Hotel itself is very clean and most of the staff were so friendly and carried traditional Japanese good manner. My room is Japanese style and I love it. The breakfast was ok but the dinner was abundant, delicious and presented nicely. The staff named Itsuki Deguchi who took care my check in and dining service did a good job worthy to receive compliments. Onsen was clean and very nice. Will stay again next time

初めての松山・道後温泉で地理的にも初めてでしたので夜到着して行こうとしたら場所がわからないしサーチしても 道後温泉とは全く別の地域を表示するので到着時大きな障害となりました。　初めての場所で道後温泉にはいるのが 目的で近場を選んだつもりが到着に全く別の場所が表示された時にはかなりパニックになりましたが、どうごやに電話で 連絡をしたら大変に親切に対応してもらい、パニックも落ち着き無事にいけましたし大変にお世話になりました。 このどうごやは趣のある隠し宿で、立地もよく道後温泉から歩いて５分くらいの場所にあり便利な立地にあります。 家族ずれ（特に小さい子供連れ）は絶対ご推奨しません。　 松山にまた行く時は、　どうごやに宿泊します（次回は迷子にならずに行けます）その時はよろしくお願いします。 宿のご主人にお世話になったのに、夜到着で早朝出発したのでお礼を申しあがれなくて、申し訳ありませんでした。

We went on a family trip. It was my first time at an onsen ryokan (hot spring inn) and my first time in a tatami room, and it was quite spacious and comfortable. Of course, it was an old building with traditional tatami rooms, so there were some shortcomings, but even these were all worth it. Our family was able to fully experience the Japanese atmosphere, which made it even better. The friendly and detailed guidance from check-in was wonderful. At check-out, we needed to reserve a taxi, and when I couldn't get through to the driver, they connected for me, and helped me make the reservation. The facilities were varied, so it was a great experience with the kids! Thank you!

As a Japanese hot spring travel enthusiast, I have lived in a dozen hot spring hotels of large and small sizes, such as Hakone, Hakone, Sanchao, Yunxian and other local characteristics. There is no exaggeration to say that this 8,000 generations is the most comfortable one I have ever lived in. He is different from other old and old hot spring hotels. I booked a room with private soup. The whole hotel from the entrance to the room, from the facilities to the service, gives people a super 5-star luxury. This is what I have never experienced in a hot spring hotel, even if it rains heavily the next morning. It didn't affect my mood. The hotel is very large and about 3/4 minutes away from the Dogo Onsen Main Building. It's about 10 minutes away from Dogo Station, so it's convenient to go shopping at the hot spring street! The hotel's one-stop, two-dinner meal is a buffet style, and the food quality is good! The service from the staff was also very good. It was raining when we first arrived at the hotel. The staff immediately arranged umbrella covers when they saw it! Very attentive! The hotel's hot springs are okay, but it's a pity that men's and women's baths are not exchanged in the morning and evening. So you can only soak in the same pool. Overall, I highly recommend everyone to stay here!

It's old, but it seems to have been renovated and kept clean. I stayed for two nights and they didn't clean it - there was no explanation in the lobby. They said there was a M size yukata, but when I went in, it was L size.. One side of the closet was full of unused blankets. There was ice water and an electric kettle full of water for tea, but I wondered if I could drink it..there was no explanation. Most of it was clean, and the bathroom and breakfast were okay, but the service was a little lacking. I guess there was no staff who spoke English, so they only explained the very basics in the manual, which was disappointing. It's good value for money and the location is good.

I arrived earlier than check-in time, but the two men at the reception desk were kind enough to let me check in in advance and store my luggage for me. The location was close to Matsuyama Castle and Dogo Onsen, and it was easy to get around by tram, so it was very convenient. I was alone, but I had a comfortable semi-double room. The breakfast was thoughtful, with vinegar drinks and curry.

I stayed here on a solo trip. I felt that the rooms were very clean, compared to other local business hotels. The bath, toilet and sink were also very clean! The hotel is also located right in front of the JR station and the tram stop. The photo was taken from the hotel looking at Matsuyama Station. Dogo Onsen, Okaido and Matsuyama Castle are all easily accessible from the tram stop right in front of the hotel. Bicycles were available for free rental.

Breakfast is separate (there may be plans for busy periods). There are two options available in December 2025, each priced at 800 yen. Advance reservations are required. Breakfast is served on the 7th floor with a great view. There is a slight tram noise in the morning, but it's not too noticeable. For those who like to go back and forth between the hotel and the hotel frequently, you can keep your key until check-out, which is convenient. The price is just right for those who prefer a small private room over a capsule hotel. The smoking room was cheaper, so I booked that. As a non-smoker, the smell bothered me a little when I first entered the room, but I got used to it after a while. Since it's a business hotel, the bathroom is small, so if you want a large bath, there's a hot spring nearby, so it's fine. Personally, I preferred this over Dogo Onsen.

Being right next to Okaido, it was incredibly convenient to get around Matsuyama. Especially with the rail pass, I could ride the tram for free. I was very satisfied with the hotel, and the room was spacious and comfortable for a solo traveler. Please note that the bathroom and toilet are separate, and the TV is wall-mounted, so no HDMI connection is available.

It was about a 10 minute walk to Okaido. I took the tram to Dogo Onsen and it was easy to find and convenient. The hotel staff were very kind. There were ample amenities and I didn't have any problems, and if I stayed multiple nights I got a free mineral water server. It was great. I'll definitely use it again when I go to Dogo Onsen.

這個民宿的空間很大！廚房洗衣機設施樣樣齊全！我們買了愛媛黑毛A5和牛回來煮！那個油花簡直美出太空！人生第一次吃牛肉的感覺！可能是我淺薄了吧…但真的非常好吃好吃好吃！民宿位置比較偏，來回路程比較遠，但還是能步行的距離，離主要的景區也不太算遠吧，比較我們有運動的習慣！松山城真的非常壯觀！風景超美！松山的鯛魚飯真的太驚艷我了，連續2天都在吃！道後温泉區是遊客區，商業街繁多，商業太濃厚了我不喜歡，反而那個免費泡腳的非常舒服，泡了兩回，第一回發現泡完的腳居然非常光滑！接着回來又泡一頓！哇哇哇！連腳死皮角質層都給泡軟化掉，平時在國內老塗護膚品都不行還需要掛掉死皮，在那裡神奇的被泡消失掉…這是什麼神仙水啊？？？我由於生理期所以沒有在道後温泉泡温泉，泡了腳！非常完美的旅程！

The hotel was conveniently located with easy access from the station. There was a direct tram to Dogo Onsen departing at 6:10 AM from the tram station near the hotel, which was perfect for a morning bath. The room was a bit compact for two people, but spacious enough for just sleeping. Also, amenities (shampoo, hangers, etc.) were available for loan in the lobby on the first floor, which was very convenient and helpful.

距離道後温泉本館非常近的日式温泉旅館，停車場就在旅館旁，大約可停4輛車，入住後仍需要用現金付款温泉税與停車費，請提前準備好，古色古香的氛圍很好，每晚11點前可以使用温泉，由於是小旅館所以每次僅限一人使用温泉，是近乎私湯的體驗。洗手間是共用的需要注意，且房間內沒有電視機，能接受以上兩點的話應該是道後温泉區性價比最高的温泉酒店了，非常值得推薦。

It's located in the area beyond the train tracks from Dogo Onsen Station. I wouldn't recommend going by car as it's a residential area with narrow roads. The lighting is dim overall, but the price is reasonable so perhaps that can't be helped. I also thought it would be a good idea to rent an entire bunk room when booking.

The hotel is conveniently located at the foot of Matsuyama Castle Park. From the hotel, a convenient mountain path (walk left for a few hundred meters, then turn left again) offers a direct, pleasant 20-minute uphill walk to Matsuyama Castle, sparing you the ropeway trip. To reach the hotel from JR Matsuyama Station, take the Iyo Railway Loop Line (tram) from the front of the station (to your left after exiting) for 7 stops and alight at Shimizu-cho Station. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the station, across the street from the platform, and you can clearly see Matsuyama Castle Park from there. While the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, they are clean and well-maintained. A great perk is the complimentary hot spring bath (onsen) available in the evening. Please note, the onsen is not in the annex building; guests need to exit the hotel and walk a short distance (a few dozen meters) to the right to the main building to access it. After a day of traveling, soaking in the hot spring is definitely a rewarding experience. Breakfast is not included with the stay, but vouchers can be purchased at the front desk for 1000 JPY per person. Like the onsen, breakfast is served in the main building. It's a Japanese-style breakfast with a decent variety and offers good value for the price.

If you're a foreigner you might have some troubles communicating but the staffs will do their best so no worries. The hotel is a bit on the old side but overall still great. If you bring a car then parking is next to the hotel at 900 yen per night.

It was really quiet when I was there, but everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is toast with jam and instant noodles. The location is very convenient as well it's close to the train station, you can check in at the restaurant on the first level. They don't speak English but have a written instruction.

The 6-person room was spacious enough. It was my first time staying in a hostel with large floor-to-ceiling windows. The location was great, and making my own bed made me feel more at ease. Free coffee and tea bags were provided. The owner was very friendly and patiently explained details to every guest. He spoke fluent English. I suggest repairing the staircase.

I booked a 3-person (4-person) room with a mattress, and it was nice that the room was spacious enough and had a separate space to organize my suitcases. There was an induction stove and kettle, so I was able to make tea or simply eat cup ramen. The room was very clean and the blanket was thick. If you are traveling as a family of three, I would definitely recommend this room. There is a large supermarket a 3-minute walk away, so it is easy to shop and there are many convenience foods. It's an 8-minute walk from downtown Dogo Onsen, but it's closer than it looks on the map. It is a distance that you can easily walk to the hot springs late at night. If your goal is a hot spring, I highly recommend it. I traveled all on foot, and it takes about 20 minutes to walk to Matsuyama Castle Cable and about 30 minutes to Okaido. The downside was that there were no staff fluent in English, but it wasn't a big problem. He was kind and made an effort to explain the room well in a mix of English, Japanese, and Korean. thanked! I want to visit again next time^^

Very close to Songshan City, the next door seems to be a karaoke, but no one sings at 11:30 in the evening. The room setting is old. If you live in the last room like us, because it is directly connected to the total sewer, the smell of the sewer in the bathroom will come up and it will be stinky. Although the corners of the sheets are slightly yellowed, it is old and caused by the fact that they are all very clean. The grandmother who cleaned the room, the grandfather at the front desk, this seems to be a family operation. Very friendly, I hope you don't be too harsh with the elderly.

It was good I booked it as a Japanese room. It was a tatami floor and spacious, so the front door - ＞ room with a small table and quilt in the middle - ＞ Main room I relaxed in a pretty large space like this Just a ventilator? The air fan was so loud that I didn't know where to honey, but it was good except that. The washbasin/bathroom/toilet are all separated We have a lot of quilt for additional people. It's a low floor, but you can see the sunset in the neighborhood view. The big bath was also moderately good
