It looked like an officetel studio. It was nice having three elevators, and there was a laundry room and a convenience store on the first floor. There was also a market within a 5-minute walk, so it was convenient to buy groceries for dinner. The room looked clean at first glance, but there was a lot of dust here and there, the wallpaper was old, and the bathroom slippers were made of some kind of acupressure plastic. I suggest you replace them with decent ones from Daiso... I stayed there for the value for money considering it was a holiday, but I don't think I'll go back next time!

They were clean, the bed was comfortable enough for a decent night's sleep, and the amenities were exactly what you’d expect for the price point. If I were rating based on the physical space alone, this would be a solid, middle-of-the-road experience. The Service However, the customer service was nonexistent. From the moment I checked in, it felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff. The front desk was cold and unresponsive, and trying to get assistance with a simple request felt like pulling teeth. There was a total lack of energy or ”hospitality” in the hospitality—no smiles, no proactive help, and a general vibe of indifference that really soured the stay. It’s a shame, because a little bit of effort from the team could have easily turned this into a positive review.

I took an Uber from the bus terminal and was dropped off at Building C because I just typed the hotel name — it happened to be the first building we passed, and I didn’t know that it wasn’t the main one. Building C has no reception, so I went up to Level 4 (if I remember correctly) for the kiosk check-in. It was a bit laggy, but I managed to complete the process and was assigned a room in Building A. I’m not sure if all rooms with the Ondol (heated-floor) type are in that building. I had to walk to Building A with my two suitcases, which took around 5-7 minutes — not too bad, but it felt a bit of a hassle after a long trip. The location, however, was really good. If you love catching the sunrise, you can simply wake up early and walk for about 2 minutes to the beach. I also booked an Uber ride to Seoraksan National Park for a 5 a.m. hike, which cost ₩17,500. The room was quite spacious, especially for a solo traveler. The only downside was that there’s no bidet or smart toilet. You might also want to bring your own large towel, as they only provide small ones, and no toothbrush kits — although there’s a vending machine on the first floor for toiletries and slippers if you need extras. The heating floor worked perfectly, and the room was very clean. It’s well-equipped with cooking and dining utensils, a built-in electric stove, a washing machine, and a large fridge — ideal for longer stays. There are also plenty of convenience stores, coffee shops, and restaurants on the first floor, and several attractions are within walking distance. Overall, it’s a great place to stay — comfortable, clean, and convenient for both short and long visits in Sokcho.

I'd known about Maremons Hotel through YouTube since the pandemic, hearing it was a decent hotel in Sokcho with clean bedding and formal service. I especially wanted to visit because it had a sauna. So, I finally came for an early summer vacation. The Ocean View Suite room was spacious and lovely. The unobstructed ocean view from the hillside was definitely the highlight. At 3 PM check-in time, a lot of guests were waiting in the lobby. About 5 minutes before 3, everyone rushed to the check-in desk, forming a line that felt more like a market than a formal hotel lobby. It would be better if they implemented a number ticketing system or allowed early check-in if rooms were ready, as the first impression was quite chaotic. There were two male staff members at the check-in desk, and their service seemed very slow, which was a bit frustrating. The room's cleanliness was relatively good, and the outdoor balcony was also clean. The TV was an outdated model and needs an upgrade in the future. The coffee maker was clean, but the teacups were so old and discolored that I was reluctant to use them for coffee. The male staff member at the B1 sauna facilities was incredibly friendly, which I appreciated, and the facilities themselves were well-maintained. If I get the chance, I'd love to visit again. I recommend it.

3인 가족과 강아지와 같이 디녀왔습니다. 무인이라서 좋고 출입현관 비번은 앱이나 메세지로 받을 수 있습니다. 교통은 속초IC 근처라 서울에서 가기에 괜찮아요. 근처에 차로 15분 거리에 속초해수욕장이 있는데 성수기라 주차할 곳이 없어 다른 해수욕장에 갔네요. 차로 10-15분이면 속초 시장 먹자촌 병원 근처에 있어서 좋네요. 펜션에 수영장도 쾌적한데 산 속이라 물이 차갑기 때문에 해가 쨍쨍 뜰때 이용하면 좋을 듯 싶네요. 그래도 어린 아이들은 활달하게 어른들에 비해 수영장에서 잘 놀아요. 수영장에 온수를 조금 공급해주시면 부족할 게 없겠네요. 방에 벌레도 없고 침구 등 매우 청결하고 푹신해요. 여분의 침구 및 수건도 넉넉하구요. 주방에는 큰 냉장고 전자렌지 커피포트 냄비 후라이팬 접시 컵 등 비치되어 있고 수저는 사람들 입에 대서 그런지 플라스틱만 있으니 수저는 가져가는 것이 좋아요. 창 밖에 울산바위가 보여 경치 좋네요. 혹시나 벌레 못 들어오게 창문은 닫는 것이 좋겠습니다. 너무 잘 쉬다 왔네요. 다음에 또 방문해도 좋을 거 같아요. 서울 오니 속초보다 엄청 덥네요.

The view is great. It feels a bit dated, but it offers good value for money for a large family. The elevator is very crowded and difficult to take, and even though the parking lot is huge, there are so many cars that there is nowhere to park. Nevertheless, the market is close (10 minutes by car) and you can see the lake, so we had a good rest. Although it is located in Chase, since it is a different establishment, the contactless check-in made it feel more convenient.

In the middle of winter, we were given a room with a broken boiler, so the whole family was nervous and had to move to another room. The complacent response and attitude of the employees during that process was truly absurd. It's not that they were unfriendly, but it was strange that the staff gave us a room with a broken boiler and told us to wait no matter how many times we said it was cold, leaving us there for hours before finally moving us to another room.

I spent three nights at this hotel located not far from the entrance to Seorak National Park. So let's start at the beginning by stating that this was one of the main criteria that guided my choice and helped me narrow down the wide range of hotels in Sokcho. I wanted to be within easy reach of the reserve since I'm a hiking enthusiast. A word of advice, though: take a taxi, which will likely drop you off below the parking area. This way, you'll be sure to arrive well warmed up before your trekking session. But I'm getting further away from the hotel... A second element, logically related to the above, if, like me, you were looking for a quiet and peaceful place to rest after your workout, you've found it. A true haven of peace... perfect for a good night's sleep, except in exceptional circumstances, since the first night I had a serious snorer, and since the walls aren't very thick... I won't draw you a picture. Breakfast is available by informing reception the night before. For the price, don't miss out. Room cleaning is also available, just request it in the lobby. The rooms are remarkably clean, although not very spacious. But the hotel offers almost all the usual amenities one would expect in addition to the room amenities: toiletries, free 5G internet access, bottled water, French coffee pods (be careful, there's a catch) and green tea... Unfortunately, when it came time to extend my stay by one night to rest in the dry - the weather is very bad in Korea right now - reservations were fully booked due to Chuseok - Korean Thanksgiving - a major family reunion event where ancestors are honored... needless to say, this is also the most difficult time to find accommodation and, of course, the most expensive for us as guests. Prices easily double. Keep this in mind if you come to Korea, and especially if possible, book in advance during the fall holidays. Unfortunately, shortly after booking elsewhere, a room became available... There are convenience stores and hop house restaurants in front and back. I chose the beach right in front of me. The room I chose has a mini swimming pool, so it's private. You have to know that the swimming pool will be operated from June !!! It was great to relax with a day's fatigue while spaing! It's close to the city and the street, so it didn't exceed 25 minutes anywhere! It's perfect to go to Yeonggeumjeong next door, watch the sunrise, and walk! went Sokcho for the best sunrise view and this hotel is 100% the best location to view the sunrise. less than 3min walk to Seorak Sunrise Park. there's water purifier at reception counter at level 1 with cold and hot water. there's staff sitting at reception counter 24/7, need to call cab to get to Sokcho express bus terminal and staff was very helpful, they only speak korean so for no korean speakers, make sure you have google translator ready. only soap and small towel provided. heater on bed. definitely need to take cab from hotel to Sokcho fishery port or central market or from express bus terminal to the hotel.

We really enjoyed staying in this hostel !! A spacious room, comfortable beds, comfortable shower ! ! They provided 3 towels per person, toothbrushes, even a urine. The polite staff, James speaks English excellently - gave us a tourist map and told us what places to visit in Sokcho. Near a bus stop, on which you can take buses to Soraxana. For breakfast in the hostel there are coffee, tea, bread and toasters, milk, chips. We came only for 1 night but were able to take a great rest and if we still come to Sokcho, we will definitely stop at James again !! Thank you for a great rest

Would 100% recommend. The hotel is located close to the bus terminal (2-minute walk) so it is easy to reach from Seoul. Sokcho beach is within walking distance of the hotel, and there are also plenty of good restaurants nearby. The room definitely lived up to our expectations. Check-in and check-out are done through a machine, but it’s very easy to use. The rooms are equipped with everything we needed and the view of the mountains are definitely a plus. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Sokcho.
