When we checked out, we raised the issue once more. The front desk assistant manager, a woman named Junko, handled our complaint very seriously. Her English was excellent. I insisted that the cameras be checked immediately. When we returned from dinner, she confirmed it was a drunk Japanese guest. Regardless of whether that's true or not, I appreciated her positive attitude. Everyone knows Japanese people enjoy drinking, and I just wanted to bring this to the hotel's attention, hoping they'll take incidents involving intoxicated guests trying to open random doors seriously to prevent them from happening again!

First off, the hotel's location is superb. It's a five-minute walk from JR Kannai Station, thirty seconds from a subway station, and about eight minutes from Bashamichi Station, making it incredibly convenient whether you're exploring Yokohama or heading into Tokyo. For shopping, there are two or three convenience stores nearby, and a shopping street just across the road, so buying anything is a breeze. Car rental is also very convenient, with a Toyota Rent a Car service point within a five-minute walk, and plenty of affordable parking lots around. As for cleanliness and facilities, it's pretty standard for a business hotel. They still clean every three days, and you have to leave your trash bin outside your door before you go out, which is a minor inconvenience. The most inconvenient aspect of the service is that you have to go to the front desk to get towels and bath towels yourself, which leads to a significant difference in service quality. One older gentleman provided excellent service; he always asked how many I needed and packed the towels nicely in a bag. However, the younger staff I encountered lacked this awareness. They seemed a bit impatient with foreign guests and didn't bag the towels, making me carry them by hand. This is definitely an area that needs significant improvement.

I have to say, this hotel completely exceeded my expectations. Before booking, I had so many worries because I'd read quite a few reviews from other travelers and was really concerned about strange smells. I'm very sensitive to odors. However, upon checking in, whether it was in the public areas, the front desk, or the room itself, there were absolutely no weird smells. On top of that, the environment, facilities, size, and breakfast were all excellent. The location is incredibly convenient. The hotel is right outside the New South Exit of Sakuragicho JR Station, and there's also a subway exit nearby, making getting around super easy. Breakfast is also very extensive, served in the first-floor restaurant until 10:00 AM. The hotel's amenities are fantastic too – Dyson air purifier and a Dyson hairdryer, which were a pleasure to use. Initially, I had booked a double room with a queen bed, but then the hotel messaged me to say that only the super single room offered a view of the Ferris wheel, so I quickly changed my reservation. The night view and daytime scenery upon check-in were absolutely perfect. Finally, the room size was quite comfortable, and they provided a free bottle of mineral water daily. Oh, and on the 3rd-floor lobby, there's complimentary coffee, various facial masks, toiletries, and tea bags to choose from, which is very nice. The only minor issue, which is why I'm deducting a point, is that the cleaning staff moved my pajamas from the toilet lid to the folding luggage rack. I have no idea what happened or what they were thinking. Everything else was superb, and the value for money is outstanding.

I was traveling alone and stayed here for two nights. Initially, I was worried about the location and safety if I went home late at night, but after staying there, I realized the area is mostly residential with many working people; there were even people walking around at 10:40 pm! The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly to foreign tourists! I heard from nearby restaurants that this inn has been around for decades and has always had a great reputation 👍 The rooms are traditional Japanese style, which I recommend for those who want to experience a Japanese-style room. There's also an artificial carbonated spring, which I found very helpful for travelers who walk a lot all day! Finally, this is an inn I highly recommend. Temperature in the room is terrible. There’s big note saying that temperature is central controlled and front desk will adjust for us. Unlike other capsule hotels where you only have a bed size area to yourself, Hare-Tabi allows you with a bit storage/ leg room next to the bed! Not to mention about their free sauna service included in your package ! It provides the best relaxation before/after a day of exploration around Yokohama China town. If you can find the East Exit 1, checking into the hotel is super convenient. Unfortunately, my sense of direction isn't great, and I ended up exiting from the regular East Exit. The location is excellent for shopping and dining, and public transport is easily accessible. Despite being right next to the station, it's surprisingly quiet, and there's a convenience store connected to the hotel. It's really great value for money.

At the breakfast buffet, while I was away from my seat, another family tried to leave, and a tall male employee apparently said to my child in a voice loud enough for them to hear, ”Aren't you going to clean up?” It's a self-service buffet, but not a self-clean-up system, so it's unclear who he was talking to, but first of all, that kind of language is unacceptable. That's what my bright child said. My husband relayed what my child said to Cathy, and she apologized profusely. Indeed, that tall man was also inconsiderate and got in the way when I was filling my plate. I'm doing them a favor by using the self-service system, so at least he should be more discreet. Don't get cocky. I took the time to write this down, even though it's not helpful in any way.

I stayed here because I was attending a Live concert in Bandori. Most hotels near Yokohama were booked, so I ended up staying in Shin-Yokohama. The transportation here is quite convenient, but JR trains between Shin-Yokohama and Yokohama are infrequent. The Live concert was at K-Arena, and taking the subway was more expensive than JR. The hotel is quite close if you exit from the JR station. If you're taking the subway and have a lot of luggage, you can exit from exit 9, which has an elevator to ground level. The hotel room was quite spacious; I stayed in a twin room. The front desk staff spoke good English, so communication was easy. I think there were also staff who spoke Chinese, as I encountered some in the second-floor restaurant. You need to swipe your card to enter the elevator on the first floor, and remember to take your room key with you when you leave the room. The room was as shown in the pictures. There was a desk with power outlets and charging ports, and also one by the bedside. Opening the window was a bit tricky as it had two locks; both needed to be unlocked to push it open slightly for ventilation. Initially, with the window closed, the room was as hot as summer in winter. It got better after opening the window for ventilation. The room had a private toilet and a separate washbasin. There was a bathtub, and the water pressure was strong, so it filled quickly. Soaking in the tub after the Live concert was very comfortable. The length of the bathtub was a bit cramped for someone 1.8 meters tall, but it was usable. The hotel Wi-Fi was available but the speed was quite average; I hope they can improve it. There were too few washing machines at the hotel, only two on the second floor, but they were inexpensive. When I returned in the evening, they were often occupied, so I had to wait. If clothes are left in the washing machine for too long, they will be taken by the front desk for safekeeping. There was also a public laundry room nearby, but I didn't go, assuming the prices wouldn't be as good as the hotel's. The hotel has sofas on the first floor where you can sit, but the common area seemed small, not as big as Toyoko Inn (like the one in Ikebukuro; there's also a Toyoko Inn next to this hotel, but I don't know its situation). There wasn't much space to eat bento boxes. The second-floor restaurant is only open for breakfast and requires payment. There's a water dispenser and ice machine next to the washing machines on the second floor. The room has a kettle, tea bags, and coffee sachets. Disposable toothbrushes and facial cleansers can be picked up from a cabinet in the lobby on the first floor; they are not directly placed in the room, which is something to note. Overall, this hotel is quite similar to most business hotels in China (like Hanting or Home Inn), but the rooms are slightly smaller. Considering the price, location, and cost of living in Japan, it's actually pretty good, especially for two people. The only drawback is the extremely limited number of washing machines. A budget hotel I stayed at in Osaka had six washing machines and dryers, so having only two here is definitely insufficient. I hope they can add more in the future.

I stayed on a Friday. The hotel's parking lot was empty even before 7 PM. Parking costs 1,500 yen until the next day's parking time (7 PM the following day in my case), so you can relax and enjoy sightseeing and shopping (I had an errand to run and left the next morning...). The free breakfast was neither particularly good nor bad. When I went around 8:15 AM, it seemed to be the peak time and it was almost full. It started to empty out after 8:30 AM, so that time is recommended. There used to be a sponge-like item for washing your body in the bath when I stayed there last time (about six months ago), but it's not there now. When I asked at the front desk, they said they don't have them and that I should use the face towel in my room. If you need one, I recommend bringing your own.
