Check-in at 3 PM, but we were kept waiting indefinitely – incredibly inefficient. Each time we asked, they'd say they'd call us when the room was ready. This practice for a five-star hotel is absolutely ridiculous. I really appreciate Trip.com's proactive communication; they were far more helpful than the hotel itself. While staff offered welcome drinks in the waiting area, the lobby was stiflingly hot, feeling like it only had fans, and never cooled down. The room was dated, with a noisy air conditioner, and nowhere to hang clothes to dry. The sink water had an odd smell, and the disposable shower head turned yellow after just five minutes of use. From then on, we used filtered water from the shower for washing our faces and brushing our teeth. The hotel beach was unusable; the sand was rough and hurt our feet. The restaurant food was expensive and unappetizing. Breakfast offered a variety of dishes, but over half of them were curries or similar, which I can't even imagine tasting. Even toasting bread was a struggle; one cycle wasn't crispy enough, but two cycles burned it (even on the lowest setting). Avoid the seafood congee; it's too fishy. The room was very damp; towels wouldn't dry after a shower. The front desk exchanged laundry tokens; it was 30 RMB per wash/dry load. For drying, the left machine only had a 40-minute cycle with no time selection, which wasn't enough for a larger load of clothes. Other staff members were very friendly, but honestly, if you're looking for a beach experience, you'd be much better off at a place in Bali.

The overall experience at Hard Rock Hotel Penang was great. My girlfriend had a hotel massage, and she found the techniques professional and comfortable. There was also a discount at the time, making it excellent value for money. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes and tasted delicious. The hotel pool is spacious and perfect for kids, with direct access to the beach. The beach itself is large; although the sea water isn't the cleanest, it's great for taking photos. The room design is trendy and distinctive. The only minor downside is that parts of the hotel are currently undergoing renovation. There was no noise, but construction areas occasionally appeared in photos. Overall, it's still highly recommended.

I highly recommend this hotel! We stayed as a family of four (two adults, two children) in a Rasa twin-bed suite with breakfast included for two, and there were several things we absolutely loved: 1. The beds were large enough to be pushed together, making it very comfortable even without an extra bed. 2. Breakfast was free for the children, and both afternoon tea and the lounge bar were enjoyed by all four of us. We didn't dine at the executive restaurant; the buffet breakfast area offers a very pleasant dining experience right by the sea. 3. The location is also very convenient. It's at the northernmost end of the main beach area, but it's only about a 15-minute walk to the restaurant with the firework show. You can also take the shuttle bus to Shangri-La and walk from there to save some energy. 4. There are many dining options. The Long Garden food court has a lively atmosphere, and for other restaurants, I'd recommend checking reviews. 5. The natural environment is impeccable, perfect for relaxation and enjoyment. The Rasa wing also has an exclusive pool for guests aged 16 and above. If you have children, the pool at Shangri-La is a bit more fun. The only minor drawback was that the air conditioning blew directly on us, which slightly affected our sleep. Regarding concerns about it being an older property, it's generally very well-maintained, and the hygiene conditions were excellent. Overall, a very comfortable stay.

Everything is so great, the room, kids club, pool, breakfast. Eventho I only took the deluxe king lower floor, it is still absolutely nice. Room is so spacious, it is just that the toilet is a bit small. All the facilities are top notch, really suitable for family travelling with kids. Breakfast has alot of choices. I will definitely come back and stay at higher floor and maybe for longer stay.

The hotel has a swimming pool. It was very humid, and even with the AC on, there was still water on the walls. For under 500, it's pretty good value for money. The area across the street is lively, with a Domino's Pizza just a short walk away and local fried rice shops. There's a bus stop downstairs, though buses are infrequent. A taxi to the city center costs around 80 RMB. It's not far from the Spice Garden, about a 4-minute taxi ride for 7 RMB.

The room has two bedrooms and one living room. The sofa in the living room can be used as a bed. It can accommodate up to 6 people. The landlord will inform you of the accommodation details by email, and you can call the housekeeper on the same day. She will arrange check-in and parking at the door, and take you to the room to introduce the details. A deposit of 100RM is required for each key and access card. You need to swipe the card to enter the building and enter and exit the beach. The security is very good. The room has complete tableware, and you can cook simple meals. There is also an oven. There is a washing machine, but no dryer. Summer clothes will dry in a short time. There are many hangers, and you should bring your own laundry detergent. There are no extra towels for the swimming pool and beach downstairs. The sand on the beach at the door is slightly rough. It will be finer and less crowded after passing the long embankment to the west. There are basically no shells to pick up on the beach. The night market along the street is very lively, and it is like an empty city during the day.

Super clean, spacious, and very close to Ferringhi Beach. The house can accommodate up to 12 people, but we only had 5 pax, so there was plenty of space for us. The karaoke set was a nice bonus, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very attentive, efficient, and helpful throughout our stay. The house also had good cooking facilities, although Penang has so much good food that we didn’t really get to use them much! 😂 There is also a convenience store nearby, which was very convenient. The shower pressure was not very strong, but it was still acceptable. The only drawback was that there is no washing machine, but there is a laundry place about 1 km away, so it was still manageable. The location is great if you enjoy staying near the beach. It is especially suitable for tourists who drive. However, if you want to go to George Town, it takes around 25 minutes by car. Batu Ferringhi also has fewer food options compared to town. Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Highly recommended for families or larger groups who want a spacious place near the beach!

Spent one night at this hotel for a business trip, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was for the price. The parking area is spacious and free, with valet parking available from RM30 per night. The hotel has a modern design and is equipped with a Face ID-like entry system, which adds a nice touch of technology. All the room switches are touchscreen as well. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, making it easy to get a good night’s sleep. I also really loved the bathroom design, especially the electronically operated toilet seat very much like the ones you’d find in Japan. Stayed here again after my previous visit in 2024. There have been some improvements since then, especially the swimming pool, which has been upgraded and looks nice. However, the cleanliness of the pool water still needs improvement. From the surface it looks clean and blue, but underneath, the water and pool area look quite dirty. The room was good overall, but the pillow was quite hard for my liking. The air-conditioning is centralized, and the room was still quite warm even when I set it to high. The café is currently closed for renovation and has been moved/replaced with a temporary café on the 1st floor. Hopefully, the renovation will bring further improvements, and I’m looking forward to seeing the completed changes on my next visit. Overall, it was a decent stay, but there are still a few areas that could be improved, especially the pool cleanliness and air-conditioning.

Spacious room, desk for work space is good and comfortable. Suitable for business traveler like me. But i dont like the room at level 3, when they are doing construction work at 4.30am, very noisy and I can’t sleep properly. Mattress and bed, pillows very comfortable. But the most important, they cant maintain cleanliness level up to the standard. When at morning i went out for breakfast i found the rubbish front of my door. My room was at the end of the row. Maybe other guests just use my front door as their dumpster. But what shocked me most, when i went out from my room. There was house keeper there, but when i talked to him about cleaning the rubbish he just said to me wait for office instructions. Really unbelievable! No urgency to clear the rubbish and their housekeeper standard of cleanliness really bad!

I only stayed one day in Ipoh as a stopover. This hotel isn't in the city center, and it's not particularly close to the train station either. However, there are some other small shops within the same building, which makes for a decent collection. The environment is pretty good; it has an industrial design, but it doesn't look run-down. The room was small, but it matched the price. The first room we were given had a connecting door to the next room, so we asked to switch, and the front desk lady cheerfully changed it for us. There's a gym with treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, and some strength training equipment. Not many people seemed to use the gym, but the environment was nice and air-conditioned. I worked out for an hour and felt great afterwards.

The hotel isn't too far or too close to the train station; you can see it. But if it's a hot day and you're carrying luggage, just grab a taxi – it's only a few bucks. The two young gentlemen in the ground floor lobby provided excellent service. They always proactively opened the door for us and were very polite. The guy who checked me in was also great; he let me get my room half an hour early. The lobby on the 18th floor has a very comfortable atmosphere. The room was also very good. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs. During the day, it's very close to 'San Na Street' (likely a local reference, perhaps a specific shopping area or street name); just be careful crossing the road. All the shops close very early and are often shut. There's absolutely nothing around at night. I didn't even know where to go to get a taxi! Better just go to bed early.

This was my second stay here, and I still love the spacious room. Everything was perfect overall. 🤩 This time, we were a little unlucky because the room suddenly had a blackout in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. The next morning, after we called the service counter, the staff came to check and found that an electrical wire had burned out. They kindly offered to let us change rooms several times, but since we were checking out soon, it was fine for us to stay. The staff also apologized sincerely during check-out. Despite this small issue, I would definitely stay here again because the location is excellent, very close to tourist attractions and the highway.👍
