Because of the Home Improvement Programme, my daughter & I decided to stay here. We enjoyed our stay. Getting halal food was not an issue for us. Going to the Sultan Mosque was just a walk away. Amenities in the hotel are good except that there is no bidet spray available in the toilet. A special mention to one of the cleaners, Mr Raihan, he did a good job in maintaining the cleanliness of the room. He provided me with my requests for extra floor towels, toilet papers, etc. I managed to see him during his cleaning duty before my check out and thanked him. Overall my stay together with my daughter had been a pleasant one. Will definitely recommend the Serviced Suite to friends.

It's right above the MRT station, and there's a small door on B3 that leads directly to Bugis MRT – super convenient! 🐝 If I come back, I'd definitely book the Andaz again. ☺️☺️☺️

The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and great lighting, and the facilities were complete and well-maintained. Plus, there were four complimentary bottles of water in the room. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Singapore!

First time staying at Pan Pacific 3D2N stay was pleasant. As we book connecting room , and have to wait a bit longer for our other room to be ready the reception display their best professionalism to accommodate. The room was spacious, mini fridge filled with drinks and chocolate reserve for guests for quick snack. Like the motorized curtains. The amenities like coffee machine come in handy for a good coffee. Our high floor panoramic city view room, we did manage to catch a glimpse of the Singapore flyer, marina bay sands from outside our room which is a breath taking view. Hope we get to book marina view next time.The pool was big and my kids enjoy relaxing and swimming. The foot reflexology treatment was relaxing and comforting. Overall I'm delighted with my staycation from the moment we arrive, we were welcome and greeted by the bell attendant, front reception, even check out was smooth and till our departure the hotel staff hospitality has treated us well. On side note if room service food/halal breakfast spread is available would be added advantage for Muslim guests. 👍👍

Farhan handled both our check-in and check-out, and he was absolutely fantastic! 👍 We originally booked twin rooms, but none were available next to each other. He went out of his way to arrange connecting king rooms for us and even added an extra bed to each room for free. The room size was perfect, and they all had balconies. The kids also loved the pool. The hotel is within walking distance of nearby attractions, and there's a large hypermarket right across the street. The location is truly excellent! It's ideal for families traveling with children. Our experience upon arrival was completely different from what we'd read in some negative reviews. A comfortable stay is the best antidote to the exhaustion of traveling with kids.

Pros: Helpful and accommodating staff. Cons: Old facilities, low value for money, exterior and corridor noise, plumbing odors. Review: We had a very mixed experience at this hotel and ultimately felt the value for money was quite low given the condition of the property. We were initially assigned a room on the 2nd floor, and it had several issues. The view faced the parking lot, which meant we were woken up at 7:00 AM ish by the noise of trucks. The room's soundproofing was also poor—whenever people spoke in the corridor, we could hear their conversations. To top it off, the facilities and pipes are very old, causing a persistent, highly unpleasant sewage smell to come from the toilet. However, the saving grace of this hotel is its staff. After we raised our concerns about the noise, the condition, and the odor, the front desk team was very nice and understanding. They managed to transfer us to a room on a higher floor, facing street view, which was a significant improvement and much quieter. While we greatly appreciated the excellent customer service and the quick room change, the overall building is in desperate need of an upgrade and better insulation. If you choose to stay here, I highly recommend requesting a room on a higher floor away from the parking lot right at check-in.

This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars. If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds. The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block. I misplaced something and when I called, they immediately knew which room I was in and what I had lost, which shows excellent coordination between the front desk and housekeeping. Thumbs up for that!

This was my second visit to Singapore, and my first stay was truly awful, so I was very cautious when booking this time around. Thankfully, my second experience was fantastic! The requests I made on Trip.com were all fulfilled to my complete satisfaction, which was great. Regarding the service: When I checked in, there wasn't a Chinese-speaking staff member, but my broken English was enough to get by (a special note: I refused to pay the security deposit with a credit card and asked if I could pay in cash instead. The front desk didn't even charge me a deposit, which was very reasonable of them!). About breakfast: It was quite good. At least my mom and my child really enjoyed it 🥳. As for housekeeping: The cleaning and room tidying services were all very comfortable and pleasant. I won't be including hotel photos as they all feature my family. Thank you for this second experience; it didn't disappoint at all. I'm so grateful! 🥹

In the evening, we headed to the Long Bar for a hand-shaken Singapore Sling. So many people visit for this, it's truly become a cultural icon of Singapore 🥂. 🍒🍋🟩🍍 The drink has a sweet and sour fruity taste, with gin as its base, complemented by cherry brandy, grenadine, pineapple, and lemon… It's a well-balanced flavor, and you get to soak in the atmosphere of Raffles' headquarters. Whether it was the great company or just a truly delicious drink, that evening, with the swaying fans, a slight buzz, and peanut shells scattered all over the floor 🥜, we officially began our chill Nanyang 🏝️ holiday 🔛!

We had lunch at the Chinese restaurant on the third floor, and it was decent. When I tried to check in at 1 PM, I was told rooms wouldn't be ready until around 3 PM, so don't expect an early check-in. The room itself was good and clean, quite nice for Singapore standards. The only downside was the slightly old elevator that closed a bit too quickly. Breakfast was crowded with limited options, mostly Indian cuisine, and the taste was just average. There are plenty of small restaurants nearby. The bedding was a bit too soft for my liking. Overall, it was an okay stay, and the price of 1300 per night is on the higher side of mid-range.

This hotel is perfect for solo travelers. The location is excellent, making it convenient to get anywhere. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, and a hawker center right behind the hotel, so you'll never run out of dining options. 👍 The room was a bit small, and I struggled to find space to open my suitcase. 😆 However, I appreciated that the shower and toilet were separate. My only minor gripe was that there was no shelf in the shower for my toiletries, which made it a little inconvenient. I arrived early in the morning, and when I went to drop off my luggage, they were kind enough to let me check into an available room right away, which I really appreciated. 😊

The room was very spacious with two balconies and a living room, plus a beautiful view facing Marina Bay Sands. Opening the window was such a lovely experience, both during the day and at night. The swimming pool was also quite large, and the service was very friendly. Most importantly, the location was very strategic and convenient. 저는 이 호텔을 선택한 게 절대 후회되지 않을 거라고 이미 확신하고 있었어요. 그리고 실제로 도착해보니 기대했던 그대로였습니다. 객실은 매우 넓었고 발코니가 2개나 있었으며, 거실까지 갖춰져 있었어요. 특히 Marina Bay Sands 방향의 뷰가 정말 아름다웠고, 창문을 열면 낮에도 밤에도 너무 멋진 풍경을 감상할 수 있었습니다. 수영장도 꽤 넓은 편이었고 직원들의 서비스도 친절했습니다. 무엇보다 위치가 매우 좋아서 이동하기에도 정말 편리했어요.

It's also very easy to catch a taxi right downstairs. The hotel is clean and the bed and pillows are really comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. The rooms are well-equipped with a wardrobe, fridge, kettle, and safe. The jasmine green tea provided by the hotel is especially delicious. The rooftop pool offers great views, which is a big plus. The check-in and check-out process is simple and efficient, saving a lot of time. The front desk staff are friendly.

A good value for money if you can find it cheaply, but there are also some issues. While the room itself is very small, it is functional enough for a single person and there is a big communal common room with an attached big kitchen that somewhat helps. However, the AC cuts off when you're not in the room, so after a couple of hours in the heat outside you return to a sauna... And all of these heating and cooling cycles also create havoc with the humidity in the room, that's probably why it slightly smells of mold. The big communal kitchen also stinks of mildew, probably due to a faulty AC there... The communal washer and dryer were also very nice to have, but they were super expensive - $8 for washing and at least $8 more for drying). The person at reception also didn't know how to operate them very well, but they weren't very difficult to figure out.

We spent six fabulous nights at Mercure Singapore Tyrwhitt in December 2025, booked into the Privilege Room with terrace and double bed (total just over $1,200). Highlights: The standout feature were the absolutely comfortable beds and pillows, which allowed us to sleep for 8 and 9 hours long. The blinds when full drawn out, eliminated all external light, and the rooms became blissfully quiet also. Full luxe amenities included daily-restocked complimentary/free snacks and soft drinks, plus toiletries like wash gel, toothbrushes, and shower caps. The undisputed star of this room was the Terrace —it has a swinging egg chair, two plush armchairs, and a sleek round table—offering the ultimate al fresco chill spot. (Note: No smoking allowed on the terrace as well so after a minute of being petty she had to go downstair for puffs LOL) Lowlights: For our stay experience, storage was the main lowlight. There was frustratingly limited clothes storage for two people in this room. The room has only one open clothes rack with limited hangers—this forced us into daily suitcase rummaging & because we stayed for more than 1 night, it was annoying & unsatisfactory; I recommend that the hotel install under-bed sliding drawers for seamless storage & access to clothes. The TV-facing table also felt a tad compact for laptop work. But in hindsight this seems like a savvy space-saving trade-off to ensure this small room has all the comforts and access guest needs. Our Pro Tips for Fellow Hotel Hunters: • Hotel WiFi is decent but struggles at times when streaming on YouTube/Insta videos—you can grab a $15 Singtel tourist SIM for • The hotel features wall-mounted dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, but lathering the body wash can be tricky—grab a loofah or sponge from the nearby 7-Eleven, just a quick 3-minute walk from hotel’s reception. • Do not entice yourself into brining your laptop and do some last-minute office work, the table is not suited. • The hotel's gym is tiny—about 3m x 3m, fitting just two people max—so we opted for jogging & afternoon walks instead. • The City Square Mall is an easy 8-10 minute from the hotel. They offer a wider variety of food. Asian is a bit further; after exiting the elevator, turn left past Starbucks, then right to the end. I was a bit disappointed with the hotel during this second visit in June 2026. There was a noisy construction site outside the window, and drilling went on for several hours in one of the neighboring rooms due to renovations. I really wanted to rest after my journey but couldn't, neither in the room nor on the terrace. They couldn't find another room for me, but they tried to smooth things over, which is a plus for the hotel. This time, there were no welcome fruits, no second evening housekeeping service, and no replenishment of amenities, tea bags, or candies. Breakfast was good. The view was excellent; I watched the tree show from my room. Overall, considering the room price, I had hoped for better. My first visit was more enjoyable. It's best to go to the pool right when it opens at 6 AM – there are minimal people then. However, it's heavily chlorinated; even after washing, the smell wouldn't come out of my swimsuit. It was convenient that my room was in the same tower, so I could go to the pool in my bathrobe and slippers. There's free bottled water at the pool and a restaurant for snacks.

After we raised our concerns about the noise, the condition, and the odor, the front desk team was very nice and understanding. They managed to transfer us to a room on a higher floor, facing street view, which was a significant improvement and much quieter. While we greatly appreciated the excellent customer service and the quick room change, the overall building is in desperate need of an upgrade and better insulation. If you choose to stay here, I highly recommend requesting a room on a higher floor away from the parking lot right at check-in.

She was always smiling and enthusiastic, and even kindly helped us check into one of our rooms early so we could rest up and start our wonderful Singapore trip. The value for money is good, and the rooms even have standard Chinese power outlets, so no worries if you forgot your adapter. Getting to attractions like Merlion Park is usually just one bus ride away, taking about 20 minutes. The only place that's a bit further is the zoo, which takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes by bus. There are plenty of affordable dining options nearby; I particularly enjoyed the Indian food, which is definitely worth trying in Singapore. You'll also find Sheng Siong Supermarket and NTUC FairPrice nearby, both offering reasonably priced goods. And if you head over to Lorong 17, you can find durians – 3 boxes for 10 SGD is already excellent!

Check-in at the hotel was incredibly slow. The front desk staff were quite old and didn't speak Chinese. We arrived at noon and couldn't check in, so we just completed the paperwork and left our luggage. When we came back in the evening, we had to queue again to get our room assigned. The room itself was very satisfactory and clean. However, the mini-fridge was drawer-style and completely at room temperature. There was no bottled water; we had to refill from a water dispenser which looked quite dirty. Luckily, the supermarket in the basement of Funan Mall across from the hotel sold cheap water – 1.5 liters for S$0.85, which saved us. Coca-Cola was S$3 for two 500ml bottles, much cheaper than 7-Eleven where the same size was S$3.8. Funan Mall also has plenty of dining options like Ya Kun Kaya Toast and Song Fa Bak Kut Teh.

I booked this hotel with a lot of trepidation, as I saw many negative reviews and debated for a long time. I'm not a shill, but I'll share my experience this time. We had a sea-view room. The bathroom was genuinely enormous, which really lifted my spirits. The golden view was absolutely stunning, especially at night, with Marina Bay Sands, the Merlion, St. Andrew's Cathedral, and the Singapore Flyer all perfectly visible. The bed was also comfortable, and my initial anxieties just melted away. There were certainly downsides. The air conditioning was genuinely loud. For someone sensitive to noise, it might be a bit hard to tolerate. But for those who aren't sensitive to sound and just crash after a long day of sightseeing, it's not an issue – like my family, who didn't notice the AC noise at all and found it perfectly acceptable. I, however, am very sensitive to sound. The toilet paper was also genuinely not good; I ended up buying my own from the supermarket. So, overall, for me, the pros outweighed the cons. I later read many reviews, and it seems the sea-view rooms might genuinely be better than other room types, for instance, being in the South Tower and not having connecting rooms. These are all my personal opinions, for reference only. I'm someone who really dislikes writing reviews, but since traveling abroad isn't easy and I agonized over choosing a hotel for over a month, I've been through the struggle, and I don't want you to go through the same dilemma.

The DT line subway station is right downstairs, but Google Maps directed me to another line. Arriving at night, the area was quite deserted. I had to ask for directions and learned that I needed to walk through a food street to reach the main street. Taking the bus from downstairs, it only takes 15 minutes to get to Marina Bay. There's a 7-Eleven and food stalls downstairs, offering plenty of dining options. The room is clean and spacious, with a water purifier, but no direct drinking water tap. There's also a water purifier next to the front desk. There's a pool and a gym; however, the pool closes quite early, so I didn't get a chance to swim. It looked very clean, operating from 7 am to 9 pm. There are no lifeguards, and I recall the depth was 1.2m. No deposit is required; you just need to fill in your email during check-in, and check-out is also very quick. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!

He went out of his way to arrange connecting king rooms for us and even added an extra bed to each room for free. The room size was perfect, and they all had balconies. The kids also loved the pool. The hotel is within walking distance of nearby attractions, and there's a large hypermarket right across the street. The location is truly excellent! It's ideal for families traveling with children. Our experience upon arrival was completely different from what we'd read in some negative reviews. A comfortable stay is the best antidote to the exhaustion of traveling with kids.

Overall, I would say the interaction with the local and Asian staff are very good but not so for the rest. The rest are so clueless and unsure of what bare minimum service was. Picked Lyf at Funan cause of its accessibility to performance venues plus work. This is the second time staying at an Ascott group and serviced apartment-type hotel. The Lyf guards/staff were super helpful during check in. Rooms were from level 5 onwards, situated on both sides of the lift and via a secured door of which we had to tap our room card to access the corridor of rooms. Meaning corridor of rooms (left and right side of the lift) also had its own secured entrance. We could even use the DiscoverASR app on our phone to access our hotel room. Love this idea so much. I feel all hotels should implement this system. There was a black board outside each room for us to draw something should we wish. Each room also came with its own unique door design, which resembled local gates and doors in Singapore. Which is pretty cool! Hotel room was fairly clean, but I did find a huge fingernail on the sheets at one point, which I threw in the bin. Bathroom was good. While I do appreciate the compact creativity of the bathroom, it does not allow a guest to place the bathroom mat in the bathroom itself, without risk of getting it wet or soaked. Instead, placing it outside (in the bedroom) felt more feasible, though not aesthetically pleasing. Love the Ideology shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and hand wash! They always reminds me of Aesop products. Shower water pressure was good, and one could choose between shower head or rain shower. AC was good too, though I do wish that we are able to adjust the temp. I tried to set it lower than 20, but was unable to. Bed was an interesting structure of a mattress on a wooden (plank) “shelf”, which meant that it was lower than a normal bed height. This allowed for better usage of the room space, though older guests might find trouble getting up. I do love that there was a small space from the mattress, which allowed us to place our phone/charging devices, even a drink beside us. There was a small room safe was underneath the bed too. However, as the middle leg of the wooden structure also supported the weight of the structure, this meant that one might stub their toes/feet into it. Guests mentioned that they didn’t like having to crawl across the bed to draw the blinds up and down, which is exactly I had to do too. As there was some landscaping works going on, I also saw a giant grasshopper outside. Very nature vibes! There was breakfast provided daily on Level 5. Nothing fancy but still pretty decent. There was a mix of local/asian and some western cuisine on the menu. Staff at the breakfast area were super amicable and efficient. Appreciated that there was a small kettle, and two mugs in the room. Which meant there was no need to head to communal kitchen for hot water should one decide to have a cuppa or instant soup. There was however no mini fridge in the room. And no telly either, not even a small one. Not a huge issue as a staycation, but might have been a deterrent if I had been visiting. At 18sq metres, this basic one of a kind room was also much smaller than the Lyf on Elizabeth St in Melbourne - which had a telly and fridge, at 22sq metres. There was however considerable good usage of the room at Lyf @ Funan. Hanging racks instead of a wardrobe. Shelves of sorts, and hidden corners to put your stuff in. Some worked better than others. As I normally make my bed before checking out, I wondered if it was more difficult for housekeeping to make the beds of these sort of rooms considering the height and the fact that it’s wedged to the end at the window. Nevertheless, albeit the shortcomings in the functionality of a some design aspects, I would definitely still stay here again, if the price was right. They have strong competition from nearby hotels. Place is good. Safe, and easy to get to, even if it’s past midnight or 6am in the morning. The entrance to Funan is actually open, and there’s a straight lift to the hotel. maccas downstairs that opens till 2am.

The hotel's location is excellent, with a subway station right outside the door and another line a few hundred meters away that goes to Chinatown. It's about an 800-meter walk to the Fort Canning tree tunnel (a popular photo spot), and from there you can continue on to the Old Hill Street Police Station (also known as the Rainbow Police Station), Clarke Quay, and the Merlion. The room size is a definite advantage compared to other hotels in the same price range; there's plenty of space to walk even with two large suitcases. The bathroom size is standard as well. The downside is that the bathroom fixtures are quite old, and the shower is difficult to use. However, I was aware of this beforehand, so I was prepared, and given the other advantages, it's acceptable. The bedding is good, and the sofa is quite comfortable. Among the toiletries, only the shampoo, shower gel, and toothbrush weren't great; everything else was fine. The room has a kettle and comes with tea and coffee packets. There's also a water dispenser in the hallway where you can get iced or room temperature water. The hotel breakfast is decent, on par with business hotels in China. However, the service is excellent; they diligently restock drinks and food even at the last minute, even if there are only a few people dining. There are washing machines and dryers on the fourth floor, each costing 5 SGD, and you can get change for coins at the front desk. The commercial machines work very well; the dryer gets clothes completely dry in 40 minutes. There are also ironing facilities in the room. Overall, I recommend this hotel. If you have a higher budget, you might look elsewhere, but if you're looking for great value for money at this price point, you should definitely consider it.

Breakfast provided on weekdays are okay, nothing to shout about. One downside of staying there is the lack of facilities, no swimming pool and a small gym. Firstly, l have to point out to Trip.com to be more specific in your description. I saw your posting of the Urban Luxe room with the MBS facing photo therefore l booked the room. But at the hotel, l was told that not all Urban Luxe rooms face the MBS, and l should have called the hotel to request. However, l was told that my Urban Luxe room was being upgraded to Room 606. As l thought my booking was an MBS-facing room, l asked the receptionist if 606 is facing MBS, and she told me it's not. But she kindly told me she'd look for an MBS facing room for me. After waiting for about 15 min, she came back to me and informed me that she had switched my room to 603 and assured me that it's MBS-facing. But when l went up to room 603, l found out that it's facing the main road and The Central, the side which l didn't want. So, l went down to ask her to switch back to the 606, which is actually facing the side l wanted. She told me that room 606 was given to a couple after me, and she had no other room to allocate to me. She told me that all guests for the day had already checked in. So, l had no choice but to remain in 603, paying the price of other's mistakes. I had told her that l wanted to watch the fireworks from the room, and that's why l wanted an MBS-facing room. She told me to go up to the rooftop to watch the fireworks instead. However, we later found out that the rooftop lounge was closed for a private event. Not wanting to spoil our fun, hubby and l decided to go to the riverside to watch the fireworks instead. Despite all these hiccups, the hotel room didn't disappoint us (apart from the street view). The bed was comfortable and nice to sleep in. The decorations and fixtures are cosy and relaxing. And it's clean.Good TWG teabags and Bacha coffee bags were provided. We love the breakfast as well, especially the curry chicken with prata and the pancakes. The staff at the restaurant and those we met in the lifts are friendly and cheerful. Just hope that the receptionist was better-informed of the room orientation and the events that's ongoing in the hotel.

The room's soundproofing was also poor—whenever people spoke in the corridor, we could hear their conversations. To top it off, the facilities and pipes are very old, causing a persistent, highly unpleasant sewage smell to come from the toilet. However, the saving grace of this hotel is its staff. After we raised our concerns about the noise, the condition, and the odor, the front desk team was very nice and understanding. They managed to transfer us to a room on a higher floor, facing street view, which was a significant improvement and much quieter. While we greatly appreciated the excellent customer service and the quick room change, the overall building is in desperate need of an upgrade and better insulation. If you choose to stay here, I highly recommend requesting a room on a higher floor away from the parking lot right at check-in.

I stayed for three nights, and it was a mixed bag, for your reference. Pros: 1. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly enthusiastic, and their English was great. Drinking water was delivered daily, and there was a mini-bar with complimentary sodas and other items. If you wanted more, though, you had to pay extra. 3. The hotel's location is truly excellent. Taxis are readily available, and the City Hall MRT station (red and green lines), which I used frequently, is just across the street, about 200m away. Within a 10-minute walk, you can reach churches, the National Gallery, and museums. 4. The breakfast selection was decent, with both Asian and Western options. Before the meal, they always asked if I wanted coffee or tea. 5. The bedding was comfortable, neither too soft nor too firm, and all the toiletries were well-stocked. The water temperature was stable, making for a pleasant shower. Cons: 1. The hotel is built around a shopping mall. So, either your room faces inward towards the mall's windows, offering no view and being noisy until 10 pm, or it faces the street, offering a good view but with clear road noise from cars and motorcycles throughout the night. Since the entire building is only four stories tall, outside sounds are quite audible. 2. The hotel is older, and the drainage for the sink, bathtub, and shower was very, very, very slow.

I was a bit disappointed with the hotel during this second visit in June 2026. There was a noisy construction site outside the window, and drilling went on for several hours in one of the neighboring rooms due to renovations. I really wanted to rest after my journey but couldn't, neither in the room nor on the terrace. They couldn't find another room for me, but they tried to smooth things over, which is a plus for the hotel. This time, there were no welcome fruits, no second evening housekeeping service, and no replenishment of amenities, tea bags, or candies. Breakfast was good. The view was excellent; I watched the tree show from my room. Overall, considering the room price, I had hoped for better. My first visit was more enjoyable. It's best to go to the pool right when it opens at 6 AM – there are minimal people then. However, it's heavily chlorinated; even after washing, the smell wouldn't come out of my swimsuit. It was convenient that my room was in the same tower, so I could go to the pool in my bathrobe and slippers. There's free bottled water at the pool and a restaurant for snacks.

Hope we get to book marina view next time.The pool was big and my kids enjoy relaxing and swimming. The foot reflexology treatment was relaxing and comforting. Overall I'm delighted with my staycation from the moment we arrive, we were welcome and greeted by the bell attendant, front reception, even check out was smooth and till our departure the hotel staff hospitality has treated us well. However, one area that could be improved is the bathroom design, as water tends to flow out and wet the outside area during use. Cleanliness was acceptable when we checked in, but it didn’t fully meet our expectations throughout the stay. Due to the surrounding trees and natural environment, there were some insects, which may be unavoidable but still affected our comfort slightly. Review: We had a very mixed experience at this hotel and ultimately felt the value for money was quite low given the condition of the property. We were initially assigned a room on the 2nd floor, and it had several issues. The view faced the parking lot, which meant we were woken up at 7:00 AM ish by the noise of trucks. The room's soundproofing was also poor—whenever people spoke in the corridor, we could hear their conversations. To top it off, the facilities and pipes are very old, causing a persistent, highly unpleasant sewage smell to come from the toilet. However, the saving grace of this hotel is its staff. After we raised our concerns about the noise, the condition, and the odor, the front desk team was very nice and understanding. They managed to transfer us to a room on a higher floor, facing street view, which was a significant improvement and much quieter. While we greatly appreciated the excellent customer service and the quick room change, the overall building is in desperate need of an upgrade and better insulation. If you choose to stay here, I highly recommend requesting a room on a higher floor away from the parking lot right at check-in.

The hotel's location is superb, right above Raffles City. With both green and red MRT lines accessible downstairs, it's incredibly convenient whether you're coming from the airport or heading to Sentosa. Many city attractions are also within walking distance. Both check-in and check-out were handled by staff; I didn't encounter any self-service options. While some staff didn't speak Mandarin, their attitude was consistently good. I booked a Marina Swiss Twin room. 'Marina' means you get views towards Marina Bay Sands, and 'Swiss' indicates a high floor, specifically above the 39th. I was assigned room #58 on the 52nd floor. It was slightly off-center; the main view was of the office buildings, with a church directly below. Marina Bay Sands was to the left, and being so high up, it was a little daunting to look down. The twin beds were 1.37 meters wide, perfectly fine for sleeping with a child. I tried two breakfast options. Clove is right off the elevator and always had a queue, but it moved quickly. They offer a wider variety of food. Asian is a bit further; after exiting the elevator, turn left past Starbucks, then right to the end. A Clove staff member was very helpful; I just casually asked, and she immediately led me there. Asian offers some interesting Southeast Asian pastries worth trying. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel.

Because of the Home Improvement Programme, my daughter & I decided to stay here. We enjoyed our stay. Getting halal food was not an issue for us. Going to the Sultan Mosque was just a walk away. Amenities in the hotel are good except that there is no bidet spray available in the toilet. A special mention to one of the cleaners, Mr Raihan, he did a good job in maintaining the cleanliness of the room. He provided me with my requests for extra floor towels, toilet papers, etc. I managed to see him during his cleaning duty before my check out and thanked him. Overall my stay together with my daughter had been a pleasant one. Will definitely recommend the Serviced Suite to friends.

While the room itself is very small, it is functional enough for a single person and there is a big communal common room with an attached big kitchen that somewhat helps. However, the AC cuts off when you're not in the room, so after a couple of hours in the heat outside you return to a sauna... And all of these heating and cooling cycles also create havoc with the humidity in the room, that's probably why it slightly smells of mold. The big communal kitchen also stinks of mildew, probably due to a faulty AC there... The communal washer and dryer were also very nice to have, but they were super expensive - $8 for washing and at least $8 more for drying). The person at reception also didn't know how to operate them very well, but they weren't very difficult to figure out.

Regarding the service: When I checked in, there wasn't a Chinese-speaking staff member, but my broken English was enough to get by (a special note: I refused to pay the security deposit with a credit card and asked if I could pay in cash instead. The front desk didn't even charge me a deposit, which was very reasonable of them!). About breakfast: It was quite good. At least my mom and my child really enjoyed it 🥳. As for housekeeping: The cleaning and room tidying services were all very comfortable and pleasant. I won't be including hotel photos as they all feature my family. Thank you for this second experience; it didn't disappoint at all. I'm so grateful! 🥹

As much as we love the space, the view and the bathtub, we couldn't help but notice that the appliances were on the older and faultier side. The bedside and table side plugs did not work, and the cover would fall off. The bathroom knobs were also loose and would come off when handled with some force. It was alright. The hotel is very quiet, even rooms in the hallway. I checked and the walls are solid, not like the hollow, thin walls you often find in Singapore. I finally got some good sleep in Singapore for a few days 😭. Even with a massive downpour outside, I couldn't hear a thing. Breakfast was just okay, maybe not even worth it. You're better off eating at the hawker center across the street, or you can go through the door next to the hotel's breakfast restaurant directly into a mall and eat at Ya Kun.

First time staying at this hotel. The staff were incredibly welcoming, showed me around, and then got me checked in. They even kindly upgraded me to a sea view suite for free! Service was very prompt. Had a great stay for all 3 nights. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Singapore.

I was a bit disappointed with the hotel during this second visit in June 2026. There was a noisy construction site outside the window, and drilling went on for several hours in one of the neighboring rooms due to renovations. I really wanted to rest after my journey but couldn't, neither in the room nor on the terrace. They couldn't find another room for me, but they tried to smooth things over, which is a plus for the hotel. This time, there were no welcome fruits, no second evening housekeeping service, and no replenishment of amenities, tea bags, or candies. Breakfast was good. The view was excellent; I watched the tree show from my room. Overall, considering the room price, I had hoped for better. My first visit was more enjoyable. It's best to go to the pool right when it opens at 6 AM – there are minimal people then. However, it's heavily chlorinated; even after washing, the smell wouldn't come out of my swimsuit. It was convenient that my room was in the same tower, so I could go to the pool in my bathrobe and slippers. There's free bottled water at the pool and a restaurant for snacks.

After getting food poisoning outside the hotel, I was almost dehydrated. The hotel manager immediately sent up several bottles of electrolyte water. The service was excellent and attentive. The hotel doctor was also on standby. I felt safe and well-cared for. The hotel facilities were decent, and the view was nice, though I was too unwell to enjoy it.

The location was perfect for me, it was near to most places I wanted to go especially to Merlion Park which was around 15-20 mins of leisure walking. I did my morning walk around the park through Marina Bay sands and thought it was great that I could just walk there. It was also near to Bugis Junction where I did a quick run. Staff was really helpful, when I arrived the staff quickly asked if there was any food I wanted to try and gave me a nice recommendation. Also I was looking to use an iron but it was not placed in the designated area, I put in my request in the WhatsApp community chat and was tended to immediately and was provided with an iron and the board to my room. Lovely staff and location, looking forward to coming here again! Also the deck was nice too, I enjoyed my morning coffee there 😀

This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars. If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds. The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block. I misplaced something and when I called, they immediately knew which room I was in and what I had lost, which shows excellent coordination between the front desk and housekeeping. Thumbs up for that!

Check-in at the hotel was incredibly slow. The front desk staff were quite old and didn't speak Chinese. We arrived at noon and couldn't check in, so we just completed the paperwork and left our luggage. When we came back in the evening, we had to queue again to get our room assigned. The room itself was very satisfactory and clean. However, the mini-fridge was drawer-style and completely at room temperature. There was no bottled water; we had to refill from a water dispenser which looked quite dirty. Luckily, the supermarket in the basement of Funan Mall across from the hotel sold cheap water – 1.5 liters for S$0.85, which saved us. Coca-Cola was S$3 for two 500ml bottles, much cheaper than 7-Eleven where the same size was S$3.8. Funan Mall also has plenty of dining options like Ya Kun Kaya Toast and Song Fa Bak Kut Teh.

Overall, my experience was pretty good, leaning towards excellent. The room wasn't huge, but it was well-equipped and had everything I needed for my stay. I was quite happy with the environment and cleanliness, and the service was perfectly fine. The only downside was the lack of a laundry room, which could be inconvenient for longer stays. Other than that, everything else was quite satisfactory.

I booked this hotel with a lot of trepidation, as I saw many negative reviews and debated for a long time. I'm not a shill, but I'll share my experience this time. We had a sea-view room. The bathroom was genuinely enormous, which really lifted my spirits. The golden view was absolutely stunning, especially at night, with Marina Bay Sands, the Merlion, St. Andrew's Cathedral, and the Singapore Flyer all perfectly visible. The bed was also comfortable, and my initial anxieties just melted away. There were certainly downsides. The air conditioning was genuinely loud. For someone sensitive to noise, it might be a bit hard to tolerate. But for those who aren't sensitive to sound and just crash after a long day of sightseeing, it's not an issue – like my family, who didn't notice the AC noise at all and found it perfectly acceptable. I, however, am very sensitive to sound. The toilet paper was also genuinely not good; I ended up buying my own from the supermarket. So, overall, for me, the pros outweighed the cons. I later read many reviews, and it seems the sea-view rooms might genuinely be better than other room types, for instance, being in the South Tower and not having connecting rooms. These are all my personal opinions, for reference only. I'm someone who really dislikes writing reviews, but since traveling abroad isn't easy and I agonized over choosing a hotel for over a month, I've been through the struggle, and I don't want you to go through the same dilemma.

The room size offers great value for money, especially for Singapore standards. The front desk staff were super helpful and gave us a room in a fantastic location, right around the corner from the elevator. I'd read some reviews mentioning noise issues before checking in, but we didn't experience any – the soundproofing was actually fine. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of options. All the staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. Plus, the hotel's location is incredibly convenient, with plenty of bus and MRT stations nearby, making getting around super easy.

Picked Lyf at Funan cause of its accessibility to performance venues plus work. This is the second time staying at an Ascott group and serviced apartment-type hotel. The Lyf guards/staff were super helpful during check in. Rooms were from level 5 onwards, situated on both sides of the lift and via a secured door of which we had to tap our room card to access the corridor of rooms. Meaning corridor of rooms (left and right side of the lift) also had its own secured entrance. We could even use the DiscoverASR app on our phone to access our hotel room. Love this idea so much. I feel all hotels should implement this system. There was a black board outside each room for us to draw something should we wish. Each room also came with its own unique door design, which resembled local gates and doors in Singapore. Which is pretty cool! Hotel room was fairly clean, but I did find a huge fingernail on the sheets at one point, which I threw in the bin. Bathroom was good. While I do appreciate the compact creativity of the bathroom, it does not allow a guest to place the bathroom mat in the bathroom itself, without risk of getting it wet or soaked. Instead, placing it outside (in the bedroom) felt more feasible, though not aesthetically pleasing. Love the Ideology shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and hand wash! They always reminds me of Aesop products. Shower water pressure was good, and one could choose between shower head or rain shower. AC was good too, though I do wish that we are able to adjust the temp. I tried to set it lower than 20, but was unable to. Bed was an interesting structure of a mattress on a wooden (plank) “shelf”, which meant that it was lower than a normal bed height. This allowed for better usage of the room space, though older guests might find trouble getting up. I do love that there was a small space from the mattress, which allowed us to place our phone/charging devices, even a drink beside us. There was a small room safe was underneath the bed too. However, as the middle leg of the wooden structure also supported the weight of the structure, this meant that one might stub their toes/feet into it. Guests mentioned that they didn’t like having to crawl across the bed to draw the blinds up and down, which is exactly I had to do too. As there was some landscaping works going on, I also saw a giant grasshopper outside. Very nature vibes! There was breakfast provided daily on Level 5. Nothing fancy but still pretty decent. There was a mix of local/asian and some western cuisine on the menu. Staff at the breakfast area were super amicable and efficient. Appreciated that there was a small kettle, and two mugs in the room. Which meant there was no need to head to communal kitchen for hot water should one decide to have a cuppa or instant soup. There was however no mini fridge in the room. And no telly either, not even a small one. Not a huge issue as a staycation, but might have been a deterrent if I had been visiting. At 18sq metres, this basic one of a kind room was also much smaller than the Lyf on Elizabeth St in Melbourne - which had a telly and fridge, at 22sq metres. There was however considerable good usage of the room at Lyf @ Funan. Hanging racks instead of a wardrobe. Shelves of sorts, and hidden corners to put your stuff in. Some worked better than others. As I normally make my bed before checking out, I wondered if it was more difficult for housekeeping to make the beds of these sort of rooms considering the height and the fact that it’s wedged to the end at the window. Nevertheless, albeit the shortcomings in the functionality of a some design aspects, I would definitely still stay here again, if the price was right. They have strong competition from nearby hotels. Place is good. Safe, and easy to get to, even if it’s past midnight or 6am in the morning. The entrance to Funan is actually open, and there’s a straight lift to the hotel. maccas downstairs that opens till 2am.
