The iconic century-old elevator is a unique feature, with its retro iron grille door, making it feel like we were transported back to an old Russian aristocratic mansion. The guest rooms perfectly balance vintage elegance with modern comfort. Carved solid wood furniture and velvet curtains add to the charm, while amenities like underfloor heating, capsule coffee machines, and high-end bathroom products ensure a superb stay. The hotel skillfully blends the historical essence of the old building with excellent living comfort, making for a wonderful resting experience. The hotel service was attentive and thoughtful, with butler-style reception making us feel exceptionally welcome. They also offer a complimentary Russian costume experience, perfect for taking great photos. The breakfast at the underground wine cellar restaurant was of high quality, offering both authentic Russian delicacies and Chinese dishes, with a rich variety and a stylish dining environment. Overall, this is not just a hotel, but more like a small historical museum. We chose the Shangri-La Hotel for this trip primarily because of its Horizon Club River View room. And it certainly lived up to its reputation once we checked in! We stayed for 5 days and were treated to stunning sunsets every single day. The room facilities were great, and the environment was clean and tidy. The staff's professionalism was excellent, especially Ms. Xiao Bi at the executive lounge, who was kind and friendly, particularly to us seniors. The hotel's breakfast had a wide variety of delicious options, and the staff's service attitude was superb! The hotel is also conveniently located; a 2 RMB subway ride gets you to Central Street, Flood Control Monument, Stalin Park, and St. Sophia Cathedral – it truly is a hidden gem of a hotel!

There's no musty smell in the rooms, and the plumbing works perfectly. The service is thoughtful and meticulous, without being intrusive. If I visit Harbin again, I would definitely choose to stay here. There are many local specialty restaurants right next to the hotel, all highly rated on Dianping, as well as two shopping malls, which are very convenient for any purchases.

The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area with a double vanity, which is super thoughtful – no more rushing to get ready when there are multiple people in the morning! The room price was also very reasonable. The room temperature was actually quite warm, and the staff were incredibly friendly, truly embodying that heartwarming Northeastern hospitality. It offers convenient access to major attractions like Sun Island, Harbin Grand Theatre, and Polarland. It's also just a 10-15 minute drive to Central Street and the Old Daotai Chinese Baroque Street. The complimentary parking is a huge plus for those traveling by car. The hotel's architecture is modern and grand, and stepping into the lobby, you're greeted by a spacious, high-ceilinged area with sophisticated, minimalist decor, creating a truly impressive ambiance. During check-in, I had the pleasure of being assisted by Riley Kong at the front desk, whose service was truly outstanding and perfectly embodied the principle of 'customer first.' He was enthusiastic, thoughtful, humble, and polite. The check-in process was efficient and seamless. He patiently and meticulously explained the hotel's facilities, provided recommendations for local attractions, and answered all our travel inquiries. His communication struck the perfect balance – not overly zealous, yet genuinely caring and comfortable. A small detail that stood out was his WeChat ringtone; it was the most stylish and tasteful I've ever encountered – unique and classy. Such small details truly reflect a refined personal aesthetic and left a lasting impression. We stayed in a river-view room, which was spacious and airy, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Songhua River. Harbin in September, with autumn colors beginning to emerge, offered breathtaking views of the vast river and the vibrant autumn foliage on both banks. We enjoyed the gentle river breeze during the day and the beautiful sunset in the evening – an absolutely fantastic visual experience. The room's decor was elegant and understated. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the mattress provided just the right amount of support, ensuring a full night's rest after a day of sightseeing. The bathroom featured a wet and dry separation, and the toiletries were of high quality. Hot water was stable, and we could even enjoy the river view while soaking in the bathtub, which added to the ambiance. The Wi-Fi signal in the room was stable, and there were plenty of power outlets. The soundproofing was excellent, making for a very quiet night. Housekeeping was meticulous, keeping the room spotlessly clean, with every detail reflecting the hotel's thoughtful approach. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive. The 24-hour fitness center is equipped with brand-new machines, and there's also a heated indoor swimming pool, perfect for unwinding and relieving travel fatigue after a day of exploration. Guests booking executive rooms can also enjoy the executive lounge, where the afternoon tea and evening happy hour snacks and drinks are of high quality. Sitting by the window and admiring the river view is a truly delightful experience. The breakfast buffet also deserves praise. The selection is rich and diverse, offering both Chinese and Western options. There were authentic Northeastern delicacies, as well as Western pastries, coffee, and fresh fruits. The ingredients were fresh, and the food quality was consistently excellent. The dining area was spacious and bright, providing a great start to each day of our trip. The hotel's overall service was impeccable, with thoughtful turndown service and prompt room service. All staff members were polite and patient, and all our requests were handled efficiently. This trip to Harbin, the JW Marriott Hotel's environment, views, and dining were all satisfying. However, it was truly Riley Kong's professional and warm service at the front desk that added so much warmth to our journey. It's perfectly suited for family trips, friends traveling together, or business travel. I will definitely prioritize staying here again on my next visit to Harbin and sincerely recommend it to all travelers visiting the 'Ice City'.

The location is super convenient! A ten-minute walk to the left takes you to Qiulin Company and Fendou Food Store, and another ten minutes gets you to the Provincial Museum. To the right, there are many snack bars and BBQ stalls, and if you keep walking, you'll reach the Church of the Intercession. It's also a short taxi or subway ride to Central Street or the riverside. Out of all the hotels I stayed at during my 10-day trip to Harbin, this one had the most convenient transportation. It seems they host a lot of group bookings, as there were always guests waiting to check in at the front desk every day. So, available rooms might be limited and you should book quickly. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, very patient and meticulous, and even assisted me with contacting a courier (੭ •_•)📦

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and felt very comfortable and satisfied. Despite being an older hotel, the management is excellent. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the staff are warm and attentive, making you feel right at home. The location is also great; Metro Line 3 and the Songhua River cableway are just across the street. What's particularly noteworthy is the fantastic restaurant. The environment is clean and tidy, the facilities are well-equipped, and the breakfast is very rich with a wide variety of choices, easily meeting five-star standards.

There were no strange odors, and the bathroom was a good size with a separate wet and dry area. Ambiance: Clean and tidy, with lively decor. The signature Ibis red makes it feel warm and inviting. Service: The young lady at the front desk had a smile that could melt anyone (and I'm a woman!). She was a major highlight of the hotel – so enthusiastic and empathetic. When she saw my mom and I were sharing a bed, she proactively upgraded us to a twin room, which was also very spacious, and even gave us complimentary egg tarts upon check-in. Her proactive spirit and warm service made our stay truly enjoyable! 😀 Hygiene: The hotel maintained the usual Ibis standard of cleanliness. There was no hair on the room floor, and both the toilet and shower areas were excellent and very spacious.
