One of the reason I love this resort is that it's not just about clear water and marine life it's also surrounded by lush green mountain.It is a perfect place to relax with family. The room are very large, featuring a balcony and a bathtub They provide all the basic amenities you need for a comfortable stay. I would like to express my special thanks to a lifeguard at the resort named Najil who helped us during our snorkeling trip.He was wonderful and took great care of my 7 year old daughter,ensuring she had a very relaxing and enjoyable snorkeling experience. As for the dining,even though the food wasn't perfect, it was delicious to me.There was plenty of food,and the restaurant surrounded by beautiful view.

First of all, there is not welcoming assistance when we arrived, no one helping carrying luggage for check in and after check in also no one help sending luggage to room.  Secondly, the front desk is not well trained to attend to tourist asking for local attractions, locations to restaurants , Jetty etc . Not able to provide any assistance.  Thirdly,  the hotel is location at the busiest sea logistics area, the boat and jet engine sound are enormously high. Hence, hotel have to making more effort in room sound insulation effect.  Forth, the entrance room that we stayed already sagging causing the door having difficulties in open and close.  Fifth, the bidet water pressure in our room is low.  And good things are strategic locations and good room view.  Fifth, the mini refrigerator is not cold and smelly. Frankly, the overall packages and experiences seemed not fitted for the room rate we paid for.

The front desk service was very warm and welcoming. This was my first time traveling abroad with my child, and they absolutely loved staying here! The facilities are incredibly rich and diverse; there's a transparent boat, opportunities for sea fishing, paddleboarding, and when you're tired, you can just relax in your room's private pool while enjoying the breathtaking, endless ocean views. The real blue sea and sky here are truly stunning – I was amazed the moment I arrived! The hotel's hygiene is also excellent; the bedding is clean and tidy. The driver was incredibly friendly and even gave us tips on where to exchange money and reliable dive shops. The accommodation was fantastic. The room had wooden floors and a high ceiling, and it felt clean and dry. The bed was super soft, and the pillows weren't flat at all. The big sea turtle plushie on the bed was absolutely adorable. Both the fan and air conditioning were quiet at night, ensuring a very restful sleep. The courtyard felt like a small garden with coconut trees, flower walls, and colorful signs. It was incredibly relaxing to just sit on the woven hanging chair and zone out; every photo I took turned out beautifully. The food deserves a special mention. For dinner, we ordered steamed crab, mantis shrimp, soy-sauce steamed fish, and a plate of water spinach. The freshness was undeniable, and the cooking was perfectly executed, bringing out the natural flavors of the seafood without being overly salty or greasy. Overall, the hotel's attention to detail in service was excellent: convenient transfers, clean and comfortable rooms, and high-quality food. We stayed for three consecutive nights, and it was absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend this place for families or couples. It boasts a beautiful tropical jungle setting, perfect for nature walks where you can spot plenty of wildlife. This is a truly excellent hotel that provides complimentary city shuttle service, making everything incredibly convenient and hassle-free. They offer personalized butler service, and the kitchen excels at preparing various seafood and delicious Cantonese cuisine – simply superb! Semporna itself is amazing! You can go hiking and take in stunning views of the emerald-green sea; make sure to seize every opportunity. Booking island hopping tours through the hotel was very cost-effective. We got two snorkeling sessions, each lasting about half an hour, and it was incredible! We saw countless fish and vibrant coral reefs. We ended up staying in Semporna for eight or nine days. The sea fishing was fantastic! We actually caught fish – small groupers and redfish, medium-sized, and plenty for a delicious dinner! We even added an arm-long mantis shrimp to our meal. It was a perfect experience! I haven't fished in ages, and I was so surprised to actually catch fish here, especially since I'd rented a fishing boat on another island in a different country before and caught absolutely nothing.

This overwater bungalow requires a boat transfer from Myding Lodge, which takes about 20-25 minutes. It's crucial to contact the hotel in advance to register for fixed boat transfer slots. Before my trip, I saw quite a few negative reviews online, so my expectations weren't high. I even double-checked the exact pick-up point with the hotel multiple times. However, upon arriving at the hotel, the stunning shallow waters and coral reefs along the boardwalk immediately dispelled my initial worries. The natural scenery here is truly exceptional. After a smooth check-in at the lobby, the staff informed us of the specific dining times for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. We then proceeded to our room. Regarding the actual room experience: the interior tends to be stuffy, and the air conditioning unit is quite noisy. Earplugs are definitely needed for a peaceful night's sleep. The water pressure in the bathroom is low, though not as bad as some reviews claimed (like a mere trickle). However, the faucet couldn't be completely turned off at night, leading to a constant dripping sound that somewhat disturbed our rest. Of course, the room type also had its highlights. I booked the Deluxe room, which came with lounge chairs and a popular hammock net on the balcony, perfect for relaxing in the evening. However, the hammock net was surrounded by wooden boards and nails, making it feel a bit unsafe, so we didn't dare to use it for too long. The room also had a private ladder directly into the sea, which is fantastic for guests who love to swim. The hotel offers complimentary rental services. Snorkeling enthusiasts can borrow masks from the front desk, and kayaks are also available for free, making for an excellent water activity experience. The waters in front of the hotel lobby are rich in coral. The best time for snorkeling is between 3-4 PM daily during high tide, when you can see numerous fish and extensive coral formations, creating a breathtaking view. During our stay, we often encountered Bajau people in small boats selling seafood. I highly recommend bargaining boldly for the best price. After a successful negotiation, you can have the hotel kitchen prepare it. On our first night, the processing fee was 10 MYR per dish, but it increased to 15 MYR on the second night. The prepared dishes were decent and satisfactory for everyday meals. The hotel's own buffet quality was rather average, and dining options would be quite limited if you didn't purchase seafood elsewhere. Overall, the biggest advantage of this overwater bungalow is its excellent privacy. You can quietly await the sunrise in the morning and enjoy the beautiful sunset in the evening, completely undisturbed by others. It's perfectly suited for those seeking a peaceful getaway and a close connection with nature.

The room was decent, mostly because I'd prepared myself for hotels in this town not being great. It had hot water, AC, and toiletries. It's not as accommodating as hotels back home; early check-in wasn't an option. I bought some flip-flops locally that gave me blisters, and they didn't have any bandaids. Friends visiting should definitely bring their own comfy slippers. After island hopping, I wanted to shower but couldn't get a day-use room. There's a public restroom next to the lobby on the first floor, but you can't shower there – apparently, there's a 200 MYR fine if you do. Guess it just shows how competitive the hotel industry is back home!

I booked this guesthouse based on a recommendation from a Xiaohongshu blogger. It's very clean and doesn't have any strange odors. I'd say it's one of the cleaner accommodations in town. The showers are communal, and you need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, but towels are provided. Just be aware that during busy times, you might have to wait for hot water, and the water pressure isn't very strong. The location is excellent and quite safe; you need a key card to enter the main gate. It's very convenient to walk to the pier, and right next door is the tour agency for 'Conch Diving' guides. The owner is very nice, and I really like Malaysian people. Thank you! It was a very pleasant experience.

It takes an hour by boat from the Dragon Inn Pier in Semporna to get to Mabul Island. The hotel you booked includes a round-trip ticket. You can get on the boat to this homestay by registering at Dragon Inn R2. This is a private homestay on Mabul Island. The cost-effectiveness is relatively high. One room can accommodate three adults. It is suitable for families with children. It is much more affordable than the Mabul Island Resort Hotel next to it. There are simple meals for breakfast and some free lunch at noon. We buy fresh seafood from the Bajau people on the sea every day and let the kitchen of the homestay process it. The seafood is super cheap and fresh. The processing fee is 15-20 Malaysian ringgit. It's still good. It's also good to use the money saved from staying in the resort to buy more seafood. If you want to go to the Mabul Island Resort next to it, you can enter for 50 Malaysian ringgits per person. It's right next door. It's quite comfortable to check in, take pictures, and swim. It's a good trip to save money with children.
