The resort provides convenient travel arrangements from Tawau to the jetty, whereas if you fly into Lahad Datu, you have to organize your own transport. (Trip.com should definitely update their platform to reflect Tawau as the primary airfield for this location!)

This Cupid water villa was beyond amazing, I felt incredibly happy, it was literally the happiest day of my life 😭! Do you know how delicious the seafood buffet was 😢? So fresh, so tender, I've never tasted crab that good. And the photos taken by the glass boat and paddleboard staff were excellent; they were so patient, even though their Chinese wasn't great, they kept saying “beautiful, beautiful,” providing so much positive emotional support. Once we got to the water villa, I was busy non-stop! In the afternoon, we went paddleboarding and on the glass boat for photos, then had a buffet dinner, and after that, we went night fishing! Early the next morning, it was a beautiful breakfast, then more photos, snorkeling, playing on the water slide, enjoying a delicious buffet lunch, and even buying super fresh seafood from the sea. Not a single minute was idle, I didn't even want to sleep!🥹

The experience at Semporna Sky Water Villas exceeded all expectations! My friend and I stayed in the Starlight Villa for two days, and it was truly beyond what we imagined. As soon as we arrived on the island, we were stunned by the scenery: the crystal-clear glass-like sea shimmered with various shades of blue and green under the sun. The wooden boardwalk, flanked by lush greenery, blended beautifully with the seascape – every photo we took looked like a postcard. The view from the Starlight Villa was simply incredible, with our balcony directly facing the ocean. In the evenings, we watched the orange and pink sunset paint the sea like a masterpiece, and at night, we could lie on the terrace and gaze at the Milky Way and countless stars. It was so romantic, we were speechless. The room facilities were clean and thoughtful; the wooden floors and furniture had a subtle oceanic scent, and both the shower water temperature and bedding comfort were perfect. The staff's service was truly top-notch, from their warm welcome upon arrival to actively recommending local specialties during meals, and even thoughtfully reminding us of the best time to catch the sunset. Every detail reflected their warmth. Whether it was a morning stroll on the boardwalk listening to the waves or relaxing on the terrace in the afternoon breeze, it allowed us to completely unwind. Half of the beautiful memories from this trip came from Semporna's sea, and the other half from this perfect water villa. We're already planning our next visit!

The hotel environment is very good, and it is renovated like a garden, without the noise and mess of the town. The staff is very friendly and the front desk can speak Chinese. The hotel provides seafood processing service, which costs RMB 20 per person, which is much cheaper than the processing fee of the restaurant in the town, and the processed taste is quite good. The room was decent, mostly because I'd prepared myself for hotels in this town not being great. It had hot water, AC, and toiletries. It's not as accommodating as hotels back home; early check-in wasn't an option. I bought some flip-flops locally that gave me blisters, and they didn't have any bandaids. Friends visiting should definitely bring their own comfy slippers. After island hopping, I wanted to shower but couldn't get a day-use room. There's a public restroom next to the lobby on the first floor, but you can't shower there – apparently, there's a 200 MYR fine if you do. Guess it just shows how competitive the hotel industry is back home!

The room is quite spacious and very clean. Check-in is on the first floor. When you go upstairs to the second floor where the rooms are, you first change into slippers, then walk down a hallway to your room. On the first floor, in the morning, there are self-service options for breakfast like coffee, milk tea, bread, and jam. On the second-floor balcony, there's a sink for washing things and a washing machine. There's also a long open-air balcony where you can dry clothes after a trip to the sea; hangers and racks are provided, which is great. The location isn't too remote either; it's about a 15-minute walk to the pier. Do note that the front desk staff doesn't speak Chinese, so you'll need to communicate in English. Also, the rooms on the second floor have private bathrooms, but you have to take a somewhat steep staircase, which might not be ideal for guests with children or the elderly. The rooms on the first floor can be a bit noisy, and it seems they all have shared bathrooms.

Environment: The room was small and quite old, like a small guesthouse in a third-tier city in China. You could see the sea from the room, though. The bathroom was tiny. Service: The front desk was very slow when checking us in; people who arrived after us were already done. It said they offered Chinese service, but it was just a tiny bit, really just a tiny bit. However, they did provide breakfast vouchers which you could redeem on the first floor. Hygiene: When we pulled back the covers, the bedding was wrinkled. We initially thought it hadn't been changed, but even after they supposedly changed it, it was still wrinkled. Maybe that's just how it is.

The guesthouse was definitely worth my money and stay. The family room was comfortable and surprisingly spacious enough for five people. Upon entering the room, my first impression was how cozy and aesthetically pleasing it looked. The beds were comfortable and dust-free, while the bathroom and toilet were also clean. However, the room was not spacious enough to accommodate an extra bed, and we had to rearrange some of the furniture to make space for our luggage. As for the common areas, there was a spacious communal dining and relaxation area where people could spend time with friends and family. It’s also nice of them to provide instant noodles for breakfast. It was convenient when we were in a hurry, as we could quickly prepare a meal before heading out. Another helpful facility was the laundry room upstairs. After our water activities, we were able to wash our bathing suits immediately and hang them up to dry. The location was also very convenient, as we did not have to walk far to find food or explore the area. There were many nearby restaurants and cafes, souvenir shops, and the public jetty within walking distance. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay even though it was only for two nights. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Semporna.

The boat drop-off point is right next to the hotel, so after checking out from the water resort, taking the boat, disembarking, we could just carry our luggage straight into the hotel (no need for a Grab or car from the Semporna jetty). It's also close to the wet market. Will repeat again if I go to Semporna.

At first glance, I feel that the homestay is not very good, but after staying, it feels great, very warm, and very warm. It is a caring homestay with a clean and quiet environment. It takes an hour by boat from the Dragon Inn Pier in Semporna to get to Mabul Island. The hotel you booked includes a round-trip ticket. You can get on the boat to this homestay by registering at Dragon Inn R2. This is a private homestay on Mabul Island. The cost-effectiveness is relatively high. One room can accommodate three adults. It is suitable for families with children. It is much more affordable than the Mabul Island Resort Hotel next to it. There are simple meals for breakfast and some free lunch at noon. We buy fresh seafood from the Bajau people on the sea every day and let the kitchen of the homestay process it. The seafood is super cheap and fresh. The processing fee is 15-20 Malaysian ringgit. It's still good. It's also good to use the money saved from staying in the resort to buy more seafood. If you want to go to the Mabul Island Resort next to it, you can enter for 50 Malaysian ringgits per person. It's right next door. It's quite comfortable to check in, take pictures, and swim. It's a good trip to save money with children.

Before heading to Semporna, I checked out many hotels in town but couldn't find one I liked. I ended up choosing this hotel the day before my trip, and it turned out to be better than expected. The location is easy to find, the hotel is very clean, and the front desk service is excellent. A staff member even thoughtfully helped us carry our luggage upstairs. Breakfast was delivered at 7:30 AM, which was perfect for eating before heading out to sea. On our second day, our room's balcony faced a slightly more secluded path, and we encountered someone looking directly into our room. We contacted the front desk around 5 PM, and they immediately moved us to a new room.
