One of the reason I love this resort is that it's not just about clear water and marine life it's also surrounded by lush green mountain.It is a perfect place to relax with family. The room are very large, featuring a balcony and a bathtub They provide all the basic amenities you need for a comfortable stay. I would like to express my special thanks to a lifeguard at the resort named Najil who helped us during our snorkeling trip.He was wonderful and took great care of my 7 year old daughter,ensuring she had a very relaxing and enjoyable snorkeling experience. As for the dining,even though the food wasn't perfect, it was delicious to me.There was plenty of food,and the restaurant surrounded by beautiful view.

If I had a choice, I wouldn't stay here again. This is the first time I've encountered such a long wait for check-out, even with a deposit. Those who paid with credit cards also had to wait. Check-in and check-out were all mixed together... the management is just too chaotic. Plus, the gym had an extremely strong, pungent plastic smell, making it impossible to use. The downstairs restaurant was absolutely terrible. The only good thing was that the room's cleanliness wasn't bad, after all, it's a 5-star hotel, and its location is superb.

The front desk service was very warm and welcoming. This was my first time traveling abroad with my child, and they absolutely loved staying here! I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The location is beautiful, set in a jungle with lush greenery and flowers all around and it feels peaceful the moment you arrive. The staff were generally nice, especially the Chinese-speaking lady. The rooms are quite spacious, with two large double beds that were very comfortable, and relatively clean given the remote location. They also offer shuttle buses to and from town, though these are limited and require advance booking. On the downside, the remoteness creates some challenges. The shuttle requires early wake-ups and long waits as the day tours start later, and there isn’t much to do in town once you arrive. Prices at the resort are very high compared to town, and they charge extra when paying with Alipay or WeChat in Chinese yuan as instead of local currency they charge in Chinese yuan with elevated rates, which felt unfair. Also the room’s roof material made the rain extremely loud. During our stays,it rained all nights during, and even earplugs didn’t fully help with the sound. Breakfast was also limited and not great in quality. Overall, the hotel has a lovely setting and comfortable rooms, but advertising it as 5-star felt misleading. It’s more like a 3–3.5 star experience. Worth visiting if you want the location and nature, but be aware of the extra costs and limitations.

Had a few very strong waves hitting us. Asked a passing staff regarding the quake, he said no problems. after the swim we got news on our mobile that there was a Tsunami warning out and 0.4m wave could be hitting the shores of Semporna, Tawau and few other coastal cities of Eastern Sabah between 9.30am and 12.30pm 🤷🏾♂️ thankfully we survived to be able to write this.

The hotel has airport pick-up service, which costs RMB 100 per person for a nearly 1-hour ride. There is a fixed-time shuttle bus to the town every day, and you can also pay to use the car during non-shuttle hours, RMB 20 for a small car and RMB 30 for a large car. The hotel environment is very good, and it is renovated like a garden, without the noise and mess of the town. The staff is very friendly and the front desk can speak Chinese. The hotel provides seafood processing service, which costs RMB 20 per person, which is much cheaper than the processing fee of the restaurant in the town, and the processed taste is quite good. The breakfast is OK, although it cannot be compared with the buffet of a star hotel, but it is enough to eat

I had to switch rooms twice. The hotel, from the elevator to the rooms, had a peculiar smell. The bedsheets and pillows were old and had an unpleasant odor; it was the first time in all my years of traveling that I had to lay my own clothes over the hotel pillows – that's how bad the smell was! I also had to sleep in my clothes. The charging outlets were behind the TV. On the plus side, the soundproofing was decent, and the service was quite good. Breakfast was included, and it was about an 8-minute walk to Semporna Jetty. I started looking for a different hotel for the next day almost immediately after checking in. Even though it was a hassle, I had no choice for hygiene reasons.

The room is quite spacious and very clean. Check-in is on the first floor. When you go upstairs to the second floor where the rooms are, you first change into slippers, then walk down a hallway to your room. On the first floor, in the morning, there are self-service options for breakfast like coffee, milk tea, bread, and jam. On the second-floor balcony, there's a sink for washing things and a washing machine. There's also a long open-air balcony where you can dry clothes after a trip to the sea; hangers and racks are provided, which is great. The location isn't too remote either; it's about a 15-minute walk to the pier. Do note that the front desk staff doesn't speak Chinese, so you'll need to communicate in English. Also, the rooms on the second floor have private bathrooms, but you have to take a somewhat steep staircase, which might not be ideal for guests with children or the elderly. The rooms on the first floor can be a bit noisy, and it seems they all have shared bathrooms.

I booked this guesthouse based on a recommendation from a Xiaohongshu blogger. It's very clean and doesn't have any strange odors. I'd say it's one of the cleaner accommodations in town. The showers are communal, and you need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, but towels are provided. Just be aware that during busy times, you might have to wait for hot water, and the water pressure isn't very strong. The location is excellent and quite safe; you need a key card to enter the main gate. It's very convenient to walk to the pier, and right next door is the tour agency for 'Conch Diving' guides. The owner is very nice, and I really like Malaysian people. Thank you! It was a very pleasant experience.

Accommodations in Semporna town are generally quite basic. This time, traveling with my kids, I booked the Sipadan Inn 2. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Marine Tourism Center, with plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby. However, there's a bar next door where many young people sing, and there are lots of dogs in town that fight at night, making it a bit noisy. Breakfast is very simple, and I won't go into detail about the hotel's facilities – they're considered decent for Semporna, but don't set your expectations too high. I brought my own disposable bedding. The hotel staff's service was excellent overall; they were very friendly when I asked for water or information during my stay. Oh, and the hotel is very close to the seafood market, so you can buy fresh seafood and have it prepared – it's incredibly tender and delicious.

I read a lot of Semporna travel guides that said the hotels in town are pretty much like guesthouses in China, but our actual experience was much better than expected. The hotel is very close to the pier and there are plenty of food options nearby. Although the facilities aren't brand new, it's very clean. We booked a quad room that had two bathrooms, which was great after island hopping – no need to queue for the shower! The front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful during check-in. We were even able to store our luggage there when we came back to town to buy souvenirs after staying at a water villa.

It takes an hour by boat from the Dragon Inn Pier in Semporna to get to Mabul Island. The hotel you booked includes a round-trip ticket. You can get on the boat to this homestay by registering at Dragon Inn R2. This is a private homestay on Mabul Island. The cost-effectiveness is relatively high. One room can accommodate three adults. It is suitable for families with children. It is much more affordable than the Mabul Island Resort Hotel next to it. There are simple meals for breakfast and some free lunch at noon. We buy fresh seafood from the Bajau people on the sea every day and let the kitchen of the homestay process it. The seafood is super cheap and fresh. The processing fee is 15-20 Malaysian ringgit. It's still good. It's also good to use the money saved from staying in the resort to buy more seafood. If you want to go to the Mabul Island Resort next to it, you can enter for 50 Malaysian ringgits per person. It's right next door. It's quite comfortable to check in, take pictures, and swim. It's a good trip to save money with children.

I really appreciated the kindness, availability, and attentiveness of all the staff. The room is small, but since I'm alone, it's perfectly fine. Shirley was incredibly helpful. We had initially booked another hotel, but the formaldehyde smell was too strong, so I quickly found this place. I asked if they could pick me up, and they said the manager would be there in 15 minutes. Super efficient! This hotel turned out to be excellent – very clean with incredibly warm and welcoming staff who made us feel right at home. We stayed for four consecutive nights, and they were always accommodating. For someone visiting a new country, this is truly a fantastic hotel; you don't have to worry about a thing. There are plenty of restaurants downstairs, and it's very close to the pier, which is super convenient.
