How to Purchase ARS Tickets

Travellers can purchase Airport Railink Service tickets easily through several methods. The simplest way is to buy them at the ticket vending machines or counters located inside the airport’s arrival hall, where both cash and card payments are accepted. Tickets can also be purchased online through the official Railink website or mobile app, which is convenient for travellers who prefer to book in advance. After purchasing, passengers simply proceed to the platform area by scanning the QR code on their ticket at the gate before boarding the train.

Malaysian travellers will find it helpful to prepare a small amount of Indonesian Rupiah before leaving the airport, as some services such as buses or small purchases may require cash. It is also recommended to activate mobile data or purchase a local SIM card upon arrival, especially if you plan to use Grab or check train schedules online. Travellers should be aware that traffic in Medan can be quite heavy during peak hours, so choosing the Airport Railink Service is the best option if you are in a hurry or want to avoid delays. For safety and convenience, always use official airport taxis, authorised buses, or trusted e-hailing services, and avoid accepting unsolicited offers from unregistered drivers.

The airport bus operated by Damri and ALS is the most budget-friendly way to travel from Kualanamu International Airport to Medan City. Although the journey takes longer—usually between 60 and 90 minutes depending on traffic—it remains a reliable and convenient option for travellers who want to minimise transportation costs. The buses are reasonably comfortable, offer adequate space for luggage, and run frequently throughout the day, allowing passengers to board without long waiting times.

How to Purchase Airport Bus Tickets

Buying airport bus tickets at Kualanamu International Airport is simple and straightforward. Travellers can purchase tickets directly at the official bus counters located in the arrival hall, where staff will assist with payment and provide the correct route information. Some buses also allow passengers to pay onboard, especially during peak hours, making the process even more convenient. Payments are usually accepted in Indonesian Rupiah, so having small notes ready will help speed up the process. Once the ticket is obtained, passengers simply proceed to the designated bus bay just outside the terminal, where the buses are clearly labelled by route and operator.

Malaysian travellers using the airport bus will find the journey smooth as long as they prepare a few essentials in advance. It is advisable to keep small amounts of Indonesian Rupiah ready, as most bus tickets must be paid in cash and smaller notes make transactions quicker. Since mobile connectivity is important for navigation and onward arrangements, purchasing a local SIM card at the airport or activating international roaming will make travel more convenient, especially when using Grab or checking accommodation details. Travellers should also take note that traffic in Medan can be unpredictable and heavy during peak hours, so allowing extra travel time is important when planning to check in at hotels or catch connecting transport. For safety and comfort, it is best to wait only at the official bus bays, avoid unregistered or unofficial operators, and follow the guidance of airport staff when boarding.

We move forward to the management straight away, and they move us to the suite rooms instead. The management acting fast to solve the problem. But still as a guests for our safety we are still shocked. Imagined 4 people came to your room during nigh time while you are sleep and any thing could happen.

We stayed at JW Marriott Medan for several days to allow our elderly grandmother to rest and recover following her leg surgery. While the purpose of our visit wasn’t leisure in the usual sense, the experience highlighted what truly defines a great hotel: not just its facilities, but the service culture behind it. From the outset, our stay involved a number of special arrangements, from shifting booking dates, providing in-room breakfast service as our grandmother couldn’t access the restaurant, and attending to several ad-hoc requests. Across every touchpoint - reservations, front desk, concierge, lobby ambassadors, housekeeping, and the restaurant team , the response was consistently attentive, flexible, and genuinely warm. What impressed us most was not a single interaction, but the consistency across departments. It reflects a deeply embedded service culture and strong leadership, where standards of care are clearly communicated and upheld by the entire team. This is what transforms a hotel from simply offering well-maintained rooms and branded facilities into delivering a personalised guest experience marked by grace, efficiency, and empathy. Simply the best hotel in Medan! My family and I are sincerely grateful to the entire JW Marriott Medan team for turning what could have been a difficult trip into one defined by comfort and care.

I booked Hotel Aryaduta Medan through Trip.com and the whole process was smooth and hassle free. The booking was easy, the price offered was more competitive compared to other platforms, and the confirmation was instant. During check-in, there were no issues at all. Hotel Aryaduta Medan is conveniently located in the city center, very close to shopping malls and restaurants. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast had a wide variety of both local and international options. The swimming pool and other facilities were also great for families. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience using Trip.com and my stay at Hotel Aryaduta Medan. I would definitely use Trip.com again for future bookings.

The hotel isn’t in a bad location close to shopping mall. The only bad thing is that when I checked in, they gave me a smoking room and I requested a non-smoking room, but I did check in very late early hours in the morning but did change my room on my request. I was disappointed. I did ask reception if I had breakfast included, which I did booked and she said no and when I checked again on my second night, I did have breakfast. I was disappointed. I miss breakfast on my first day.

Location is very strategic, right in the middle of the city. The building is quite old, more than 40 years old. They've done some renovation but it is noticeably old. Lobby got no aircon when I arrived. The shower was leaking a bit. But my room was clean and it was big. It got a big window with view to the street. Not bad for the price that I was paying.
