Staff were friendly. Breakfast is healthy. However, this hotel is not 5 star. Horizon rooms, which are not the cheapest, sit directly on a multi lane highway which is crazy loud. Public bathrooms are not cleaned daily, bins are not emptied. Basics like salt and soap are not automatically checked and refilled. The breakfast area is the lobby / a public thoroughfare. Parking is 35$ a day, which is not clear when booking. Lighting dark dark dark. TV didn’t connect. All in all we did not experience the usual 5 star stay, which was a shame because we wanted to treat our family to a special weekend away.

Very clean, chic hotel with a popular restaurant and bar. It is conveniently located on Northbourne Avenue , Elouera St and Mort Street which is directly the line of Canberra's night clubs if you are coming on a weekend. There's only two sets of lifts for Hotel Clients which isn't a problem for an Asian ( moi) who is used to very crowded areas. But this can be a bit inconvenient for locals who are used to express service. Pool, gym, sauna. Major plus points. And the best part of all is the free bar fridge in the room. (Not sure if it was a promotion but my friend and I could drink all of what was offered for free!) We didnt because we are massive alcohol fans. The only major downside is the 25 dollar parking fee. No, no no. You can raise the price a bit higher for the quality of rooms but it's a bit offputting to have that as an additional fee. Overall, a pretty great experience from service to aminities.

Canberra is a beautiful city with virtually brand new streets and buildings. The bus station from Sydney to Canberra is right next to the Novotel, and it's just a few hundred meters walk to the Crowne Plaza. The hotel facilities are good, with a pool and gym. The room size is smaller than in China but larger than in Japan. The casino is right next to the hotel. I want to specifically talk about the service. When I arrived, they initially gave me a connecting room. Later, they switched me to a twin room. It made me feel like the front desk staff was a tour guide handling a** (rubbish/bad) tour group.

I was ones in room 3 and 5 and noticed the same thing, it’s as if they don’t properly clean the floor tiles. This time I was in 145 and the bathroom/toilet floor was sticky. Otherwise they have free coffee at the reception which was good.

Place was clean, tidy - bed and pillows were comfortable, bathroom was clean and necessary items - shampoo/condition/body wash & lotion supplied. This studio apartment had a laundry area inside the big bathroom with an ironing board propped bewyeen since & washer. Kitchen was well equipped though we only used the kettle to boil water for coffee & tea. One tv in lounge, a smaller one with Netflix /YT/etc in bedroom. Overall a pleasant happy stay for me. The hotel is located to the north west of the city centre. Though it is a bit far from the city it is quite convenient, there’s a supermarket (woolies) nearby. Parking is difficult but they provide parking for extra fee per night with unlimited in and out. The hotel is clean, quiet, comfortable and sufficient for our travel purpose to attend an event nearby. I like the double beds (two separate beds) option but this type of room only comes with a disable-friendly bathroom. I wish their double beds are bigger in size and they have a regular bathroom option with a bathtub.

Haha, this hotel definitely requires a bit of an adventurous spirit to stay at! It was built in 1926, so it's celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. In the lobby restaurant, there's a very old manual plug-in switchboard. The hotel's past life probably wasn't as a hotel; it gives off more of a government archives vibe 😂. The room facilities are a bit dated, especially the carpet, but there's a certain echo of the 1950s. The bathroom is quite small, and the shower area, in particular, seems like it would be a squeeze for anyone a bit larger. Canberra gets really cold, so it was a thoughtful touch that the hotel provided extra blankets. Overall, I think you need to have a bit of a nostalgic appreciation to truly enjoy this kind of hotel. The service, however, was quite good.

clean room and comfy bed. there are only 2 floors and our room is next to a round about and noise during the day could be quite loud. the hotel decor is not so modern with a bath tub and only a shower screen covering half of it so after showers the bathroom floor is completely wet. breakfast was great and staff at the restaurant were patient and attentive to the needs of customers. hotel staff were helpful and service was good overall except that when we checked out the front desk lady was first reluctant to get staff to check my room but told me if anything is missing from the minibar it will be charged to our card and that we have signed an agreement. of course if we have consumed anything we are happy to pay but we would like the room checked when we are still in the hotel premises rather than being told a day later a dozen drinks have gone missing. I wonder why she did not understand my request. she wasn't rude but what she said could be offensive to some people.

Fast becoming a a an outdated hotel. Superior king rooms are small. Do yourself a favpur and Book the 1bd apartment as it has more space.  Location is pretty good. A short walk to the centre and shops.  Reception staff nice enough. Very robotic. Unfortunately we had a few problems when we checked in that eventually got resolved but only because we kept on reminding staff to do something about it. This left us with a negative impression overall.  We won’t stay here again. There’s better hotels around

This hotel is located in a residential area in the southern part of Canberra. It's a great spot to get a feel for Canberra, nestled in a lovely neighborhood. As it's an Ibis hotel, the facilities are solid. Breakfast was a European style, though the selection wasn't extensive. There aren't many dinner options nearby. Location in a lovely garden setting was perfect and parking out front of the hotel was easy and convenient. Very quiet at night. Room (Superior King) was large, well set out and had lots of windows. Bed was extremely comfortable. Only negative was that a queen sized doona was on the king bed, which left it a bit on the small side. Bedding and pillows were all excellent of good quality. Staff were friendly,although when we asked for the doona to be replaced with a larger one, we were told upon returning to the hotel later that it had been done. It had not. The main downside of this well-kept and attractive hotel is that there is no food or bar facilities, although they provide links to nearby cafes and other eateries. About 10 to 15 minutes walk takes you to to the main restaurant area of Manuka.

I also appreciated the free Wi-Fi, secure parking and the and gym facilities, which were nice extra touches. However the building is a bit too old and the swimming pool was not available when I stayed there.

The room was generally clean however there were suspicious stains on the couch & steps that lead to the bed. The main king bed was freshly made however there was also a single bed made up in the room also that appeared to have been slept in. Didnt affect our stay though & overall we were quite happy.

Reception is friendly and help us with our late check in, room is quite clean up to standard although facilities are a little old school and a bit aged, but location is excellent just couple of minutes drive away from cafeterias, museums, market. Great location, great service, clean and comfortable. Obviously market is for group bookings.. only negative is no soap or shampoo /conditioner in showers. Was a soap dispenser at sink outside toilet, but nothing in bathroom. Rooms with bunks which was fine, but none of the beds on top were made, daughter ”had” to sleep on top bunk, so had to make one up. No TV in room. Would definitely stay again, just need to pack supplies.
