The hotel's location is excellent. Being in the free zone, there are different tram lines passing by both in front and behind the hotel, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. 👍 Although the hotel is quite old, the facilities are well-maintained, 👍 clean and hygienic. 👍 The rooms are also very bright and spacious. To my surprise, when I first entered the room, there was a welcome message on the TV screen! 🤗 What I appreciated most was the large round table, where the whole family could sit together and eat. 👏👏👏 However, there were only two dining chairs, plus the computer chair, so we were still short one chair. On our first day, we tried calling housekeeping for a long time, but no one answered. We then called the front desk, who said they would follow up, but nothing came of it. On the third day, because we needed more toilet paper, we called the front desk again. A staff member brought the tissue, and we also mentioned that we needed an extra dining chair. That staff member called someone who seemed to be from the engineering department. He checked the style of the existing chairs and then brought over a chair of the same style. 🙏 It turns out they had to match the style! 😅 One thing to note is that even though the bathroom has a wet/dry separation, water easily splashes out of the bathtub when showering, getting the floor wet. I highly recommend the steakhouse downstairs, 7 Alfred – it's absolutely delicious! 😋

The room itself was decent and the location was convenient, but the service was quite poor. First, when we arrived at the hotel, the concierge wasn't proactive about helping us with our luggage, and after check-in, no one helped us with our bags either. Maybe we didn't explicitly ask, but still, the room was generally okay. What was really ridiculous was when we extended our stay. We had already swiped our room key at the front desk, but the next day, the elevator wouldn't go to our floor – it was as if the key hadn't been successfully updated. Then, when we got to the room, the door wouldn't open. We went to the front desk three times, and each time they said it had been fixed. The last time, I asked if someone could come upstairs with us to check, and the front desk agent said if it didn't open again, we should call them to deal with it. It still didn't open. Eventually, an engineer came, and we showed him the problem. He used his card to open it. This was something that could have been resolved in one go, but it wasted so much time going back and forth, so I'm very dissatisfied with the service. Although we had a language barrier, we used translation apps and even found Chinese-speaking staff, so I don't think that was an issue. Because the location was good, we still extended our stay, totaling four nights. The last two nights were booked directly at the front desk. We waited a long time to check in again, and they ended up giving us a room right next to the elevator. The staff member, who seemed to be Southeast Asian, had a very perfunctory, almost rude, attitude. The soundproofing in the room was also terrible; the elevator going up and down sounded like a train passing downstairs, and I was woken up several times at night. Since we had too much luggage, we were too lazy to change rooms.

Facilities: The swimming pool is very basic, and the gym only has two or three old pieces of equipment. There's no separate changing room or shower, so you have to change in the restroom. But then again, it's an older hotel, so that's understandable. Cleanliness: The cleanliness was pretty good, I think there were no issues. Environment: The location is great, and the surrounding area is nice. We walked to many places in Melbourne city center. It's only a few minutes' walk to Chinatown, and about a ten to fifteen-minute walk to bustling streets with bubble tea shops and fried chicken places. Service: The service was excellent. The front desk staff member who checked us in on the day of arrival seemed to be Japanese. Since my English isn't very good, we communicated using a face-to-face translator. He was very patient and didn't show any annoyance. I also told him that I would have a package delivered to the hotel that day, and he said he would receive it for me.

The location is fantastic, right in Chinatown. Stepping out, you're surrounded by various Chinese restaurants and supermarkets, so there's no need to book breakfast. It's in the CBD, so many attractions are nearby, and a free tram stop is just a short walk away. The room is spacious and very clean. However, the service and amenities are just average. There's no water in the room; you have to go to the corridor to get it, and you need to bring your own slippers, toothbrush, and toothpaste. The biggest drawback is also the location. Chinatown turns into a bar street at night. After 8 PM, the area gets very chaotic with teenagers, drunk people, homeless individuals, and sex workers, which can be a bit intimidating. If this bothers you, you might consider booking a hotel in a quieter neighborhood that's not as central or in an upscale area. If you do stay here, it's best not to go out after 9 PM, although it's very normal and great for exploring during the day. Overall, for this price in Melbourne city center, I think it offers good value for money.

My stay here was absolutely perfect! This hotel is a fantastic conversion of a century-old building, blending vintage Art Deco style with modern minimalist design, giving it a unique and upscale vibe. It's located right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of Bourke Street Mall and Queen Victoria Market, and with direct tram access to all the major attractions, making getting around and shopping incredibly convenient. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent – it’s remarkably quiet despite being in a bustling area. The entire room was spotless, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the bathroom amenities were top-notch. The front desk staff were warm, attentive, and efficient with check-in, responding quickly to any requests. The Luci restaurant inside the hotel has a grand setting, offering a rich variety for breakfast, and the cocktail bar has an amazing atmosphere. The small gym is also well-equipped. It's a peaceful oasis in the city, combining historical charm with five-star service, making it ideal for both business trips and leisure travel. i got the corner room which i feel is certainly sizeable for my room type. the room is clean and up to my standards, including the bedsheets and duvet. in terms of location, it's in the heart of the cbd and an absolute bargain for the price point. it's about a 2-3 minute walk from the tram stop but do take note it's a slight uphill, nothing crazy though. there's also food options just below the hotel which is extremely convenient. the service is excellent with friendly staff. in terms of amenities, it has the basics - cups, towels, etc. the water heater seems a little faulty as it fluctuates between cool and warm but again, this is something i find manageable.

Location: easy 3-6 min walk to Southern Cross station and the skybus station which made reaching the hotel from melbourne airport extremely convenient (~40 mins). It's close to many cozy and prolific cafés for breakfast/brunch, lunch. Ease of access to gift shops, electronics, and post boxes as well. Amenities: Gym is available. Laundry with washers and dryers are also available but prepare coins. Security: Staffed during the day, and the automatic doors in the main hotel entrance could only be opened with keycards at night. Good safety. Service: Hospitable staff. Had issues with my room and they were happy to assist. Room: I booked the single room. Quaint and tiny. Room's very dark and quiet at night. Great sleep. Bathroom is equipped with heat lamps and exhaust fans which made super comfortable for a winter stay. Didn't use the AC much but I tried it out just to see that it worked. Runs well even though it's a bit noisy if you're sleeping. Towels and sheets mostly clean. I noticed some stains on the bedding once but otherwise good.

1. The hotel's location is excellent. It's in the city center, and you can reach any attraction within a 10-15 minute walk or by taking the free light rail. 2. The rooms are well-equipped with basic amenities. Both rooms were spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel has coin-operated washing machines and dryers. In the room, there's a TV, refrigerator, microwave, kettle, and cutlery. There was plenty of space for our luggage and a stroller, even for our group of four, which included a 4-year-old child. 3. We stayed for two nights. After the first night, there was only about a third of the toilet paper left, and the cleaning staff didn't replenish it in the morning. We had to use our own tissues midway through, which was a bit inconvenient.

The biggest highlight is definitely the excellent location in the heart of Melbourne CBD. It’s very easy to get around, with plenty of shopping, dining, and attractions within walking distance. We arrived earlier than check-in time, and the staff kindly allowed us to store our luggage, which made things much easier. We were also offered a discounted breakfast option during check-in, which was a nice touch. The gym facilities were well-maintained, and we enjoyed using them during our stay. The room was a bit more compact compared to other hotels we stayed at during this trip, but still clean and functional. Although we had requested a higher floor, we were assigned a lower-level room, which currently faces some construction. One thing to note is that the lift system can be slightly inconvenient, as the reception is on Level 3 and requires a transfer between lifts. There were also a few instances where the lift didn’t respond as expected. Additionally, there isn’t a self-service laundry facility available. Overall, despite a few minor inconveniences, we enjoyed our stay—especially because of the prime location and helpful service.

Unfortunately, my experience at Novotel Melbourne Central was quite disappointing, especially considering that I had a very positive experience at Novotel Sydney, where my daughter and I were treated with great kindness and hospitality. I had an issue with the breakfast arrangement that was handled in a very uncomfortable and embarrassing way. At check-in, I specifically asked to add breakfast for the three days of our stay. I explained that I am an ALL – Accor Live Limitless member and that I had received an email stating that ALL members would receive a discount on breakfast. The receptionist confirmed the benefit and also told me that my 11-year-old daughter would not be charged. I was informed that the total cost for breakfast for the three days would be AUD 56. I paid the amount at check-in and, naturally, assumed everything had been correctly arranged. However, the following morning, when we went to breakfast, the staff member told me that breakfast was not included in my reservation. I explained that I had specifically added it during check-in and showed him the payment receipt from my card. Instead of simply checking the situation and resolving what was clearly a possible system or communication error, I was repeatedly questioned: who had checked me in, when I had become an ALL member, and whether I had any proof that breakfast had been added. The whole situation was extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing. I had done exactly what was required at check-in, had paid for the breakfast, and had proof of the payment. Nevertheless, I felt as though my word was being questioned. I explained that I would make a complaint. The staff member then reluctantly took down my room number and directed us to a table next to the service area, despite there being several vacant tables in the main dining area. This made the situation even more unpleasant. I understand that mistakes can happen, particularly if there is an issue with the hotel system or communication between staff members. What I found unacceptable was the way the situation was handled. It gave me the impression that the staff may not have received adequate training on how to deal with guests when an operational error occurs. The appropriate approach would have been to acknowledge the possibility of a mistake, verify the payment and resolve the issue discreetly and courteously, rather than making the guest feel embarrassed or disbelieved. Unfortunately, I also experienced problems with the cleanliness of the room. The bed was poorly made, the toilet and sink were clearly not properly cleaned, and a cup had been placed wet on the tray. These details contributed significantly to my overall negative impression of the hotel. This was particularly disappointing because our experience at Novotel Sydney was excellent. We were welcomed warmly, treated very well and felt genuinely looked after throughout our stay. Unfortunately, our experience in Melbourne was very different. I hope the hotel management will take this feedback seriously, particularly regarding staff training, guest communication and housekeeping standards. The issue could have been handled very differently and would have avoided turning a simple operational mistake into an unpleasant and embarrassing experience.

I had a great stay at the Atlantis Hotel. You really can't beat the location—it’s right across from the Victoria Police Centre, which made the area feel very safe. Being just a short walk from Southern Cross Station made arriving and leaving a breeze, and having the tram stop right there was a total game-changer for getting around the city. There are also heaps of great cafe and restaurants nearby, so you’re never short on food and coffee options. The rooms were comfy and the whole experience was super smooth. Definitely a top choice if you want to be in the heart of everything!

I chose this hotel because the room type was decent and the decor wasn't overly business-like, unlike many hotel rooms in Melbourne that often feel small... Most importantly, the location is fantastic! It's right next to St. Paul's Cathedral, and you can practically walk to most major attractions within half a day from there. There's a McDonald's right downstairs, and restaurants on the first and second floors inside the building. The doormen were also very attentive. Overall, everything was quite good. For a family trip, there were no major issues, other than it being slightly on the business-y side.

The doormen were also excellent, helping me pinpoint locations for taxis since ride-sharing apps default to no parking at the hotel. I had to verbally communicate with the driver upon arrival, and everyone here is very willing to help. The rooms are spacious, and bottled water, small soaps, and other amenities are replenished during turn-down service.

Before arriving in Melbourne, the hotel called to inform me that the air conditioner was broken and it would take a few days to repair it, and asked if I needed to check out. I always choose this hotel every time I go to Melbourne. It has been more than 10 years. Although the hotel facilities and environment are relatively old, it is in the city center, very convenient to get in and out, and there are trams, restaurants and shopping nearby. In the end, I chose to stay. In Melbourne's summer, the temperature difference between morning and evening is quite large. It is very hot during the day but still very comfortable at night. The hotel is quite considerate and equipped with fans. The only inconvenient thing is cleaning. You need to tell the front desk before 10 o'clock every morning, and they will arrange it. After 10 o'clock, you have to wait until the next day to clean. I will choose this hotel next time I go to Melbourne.

Booked a triple room with a king bed and an extra single bed. Overall service was quite nice! The only downside was that the room only had a bathtub, no separate shower. The hotel breakfast was decent, served on the 35th floor (which seemed to be the executive lounge level). It was mostly Western-style breakfast (various breads, vegetable salad, sausages, ham, fried eggs), but they also had miso soup, congee, and Chinese crullers! You need to ask the waitstaff for tea and coffee (they have several varieties), and they'll bring it to your table.

We'll be back for our next trip to Melb. Fantastic service from staff, especially Vina who really made us feel welcome and looked after. Fantastic location - felt free to drop in and out of hotel through the day while walking around the CBD - as you're in the CBD.

My parents and I stayed at Oaks Melbourne on Market from 24 to 26 July, and we had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and well looked after. A special thank you to Fardin and Betty for their exceptional service. My luggage was lost in transit on my flight from Sydney to Melbourne, which was understandably stressful. I explained the airline’s delivery arrangements to Fardin, and he was incredibly helpful throughout the process. He kept me informed, provided updates, and promptly let me know when my luggage arrived at the hotel. His attentiveness and reassurance made a worrying situation much easier to manage. Betty also provided outstanding customer service and made both me and my family feel incredibly welcome. Her warmth and hospitality added a personal touch to our stay and left a lasting impression. The room itself was comfortable and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable, and having a bathtub was a lovely feature after a long day exploring Melbourne. The hotel’s location is also extremely convenient, right in the heart of Melbourne CBD and within easy reach of restaurants, shops, public transport, and many of the city’s attractions. Thank you to the entire team at Oaks Melbourne on Market, especially Fardin and Betty, for making our family stay so enjoyable. We would happily stay here again

Overall, not a bad stay despite the various pain points. Expected more from a hotel tied to Ascott though. Pros: Located right infront of a free tram zone in the heart of CBD. Easily accessible to variety of places - mostly walkable. Pretty big room - has a separate living room Has a kitchenette as well as cabinet filled with cutleries, cooking pots & pans. Service was rather nice very helpful in various issues and also can receive packages. (However, one staff wasn’t very nice to us but very nice to the Caucasian couples who cut in front of us. Our keycard were locked for some reason and went to her for help - verification wasn’t very thorough like the other staff & when we feedback that our keycard that was left in the room was taken away after housekeeping she was unbothered - could seriously be a safety issue esp for ladies if the housekeeper was shady. Thankfully our check-in staff had deactivated it for room access and made it only usable for electricity) Laundromat was rather cheap - AUD6 Cons: Place is a little hard to spot - doesn’t have a big entrance door that is spottable. Hallways of the rooms looks kind of old - felt shady (but that’s just exterior, inside itself is fine) Housekeeping is only done every 3 days - left our takeaway bags & trash for 3 days and there was cockroach nymph. Not super thorough in cleaning too (we left an iron board infront of the desk that covered the dustbin and it wasn’t emptied, had to use a paper bag to hold our thrash - but again also seem like a pro cause they don’t touch your things?) Although filled with amenities but also doesn’t seem to be filled? - no bowls, no dishwasher & soap (please bring/buy your own to wash) Only rain shower head available, no second detachable shower head. No bidet. Room walls are quite thin - can hear the outside easily but am not easily bothered. (Good for those who cares to take note) On the last day, aircon had issue - kept turning on & off on its own (quite loud that I heard it during my sleep (I’m a light sleeper)) Also, they got no memory foam pillows & beds were rollable. No locks so our beds were constantly moving around. Bring adapters!! - not a big con & should be well prepared but they only have wall outlets

Stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street for a short city break. The location is excellent, directly opposite Flinders Street Station and within easy walking distance of Federation Square, the Yarra River, restaurants and Melbourne's laneways. The hotel itself is functional rather than impressive. It appears to be a converted office building, which means the layout is a little different from purpose-built hotels and there are no particularly memorable views despite the prime location. The room was comfortable enough, but the finishes and fixtures lacked the polished feel I've experienced at other DoubleTree properties. Business travellers looking for a more premium or contemporary fit-out may find it falls short of expectations. During our stay there was an issue with our baggage, however the staff handled the situation professionally, resolved the problem and provided complimentary drink vouchers as a goodwill gesture, which was appreciated. One disappointment was that the gym was closed during our stay, as this is a facility I normally like to use when travelling. Overall, the hotel's strongest selling point is its outstanding location. It works well as a tourist base for exploring Melbourne, but business travellers who prioritise hotel facilities, room finishes and a more modern feel may prefer some of the newer hotels in the CBD.

I stayed here for two nights, and the Ctrip price for this hotel was significantly lower than on other platforms. For the same price, other hotels weren't as new. Comparing them, this hotel is ideal, from its location to its rooms. The hotel also has USB ports on its outlets. From a distance while walking along the river, you can easily spot the 'vibe' blue letters on the building, making it easy to find your way back. There's a path right outside the entrance that crosses the river. The Urban Rooms are located on floors below the sixth floor. If you want a view, you should opt for a River View Room on the sixth floor or higher. Just a heads-up: they don't provide toothpaste or toothbrushes, so remember to bring your own.

I've stayed at Oaks Melbourne on William Suites multiple times when visiting Melbourne. The rooms with a kitchen and a view balcony are fantastic. Flagstaff Gardens is right downstairs, and in the mornings, standing on the balcony and looking out at the Docklands sea view is incredibly refreshing. In the evenings, you can enjoy a magnificent sunset. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and importantly, the kitchen is fully equipped, perfect for a longer stay if you want to cook your own meals. The location is super convenient for getting around; downstairs, you'll find the Route 30 and 58 Free Trams, as well as Flagstaff Gardens Station. You can easily get anywhere. Plus, it's just a ten-minute walk to Queen Victoria Market, where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables and sample cuisines from all over the world – there’s nothing quite like the vibrant atmosphere of a bustling market to soothe the soul. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

The room was tiny, even the toilet was smaller than those in Hong Kong hotels. It faced directly opposite another office building. The 'balcony room' was simply not facing the street; instead, it was on the side where all the machinery was. It was incredibly noisy, like sleeping on an airplane, with a constant buzzing in my ears. When booking, there were options for 'one-bedroom room without cleaning service' and 'one-bedroom room.' I decisively chose the slightly more expensive 'one-bedroom room.' However, the room wasn't cleaned for several days. After speaking to the front desk, I was told that housekeeping services cost extra. I stayed for a week, and I had to sort and take out my own trash to the recycling point outside the hotel. To my surprise, there was still uncleaned trash left by the previous guest in the bin. There was also no charging spot by the bed. I really don't recommend this hotel.

We were on separate floors and that was very disappointing for our family holiday. Hopefully this won’t happen next year or we will start staying elsewhere. We were assured we would be as close by as possible. I don’t believe separate floors is acceptable. I spoke with staff and management and was told there is nothing that can be done so that did put a dampener on our stay unfortunately.

The one-bedroom apartment I originally booked was upgraded to a three-bedroom apartment (actually a two-bedroom and one-studio) without any notice. The original one-bedroom was very cheap. The kitchen is a rare gas stove in an Australian hotel apartment, which is convenient for cooking. The swimming pool is small, but there is a 25 meter walkway, and there is a spa, sauna, and the night view of the Yarra River is also beautiful, which is really good value. The traffic is normal. It is close to the Southern Cross Station, but it is far from Federation Square, which means that it is not close to Chinatown and the main shopping area. It is close to the office area, which is suitable for business trips. The only pity is that its front office is beside a turntable, and there is no place to park for free around it. The only parking spaces that can be seen are also for the police. In this way, after you drive out of the garage, returning the keys is a very crazy thing. I don't know if anyone else solved it. I parked the car on the turntable, rushed in, threw the key and ran. . . . . . Too embarrassing. Check-in also has this problem, because its garage requires a key to go in. It can't be like other hotels. Stop in and then go out to check in. But if you do n’t check in, you do n’t have the key. . . .

First we start with check in, is easy and convenient at nearby IGA (2 min walking) till 12 am (so easy for late night flights in). The unit as per photos, new and clean. Kitchen is fully equip, even provide me with salt, pepper, oil and a rice cooker. It also come with clothes washer and dryer. Space might be a bit tight, need to adjust a bit but with the superb location, is acceptable (maybe because we Aseans are much shorter). Food is easy to find and all around, so no issue on food at all. Metro and trams just footsteps away. No regret choosing this place. I was anxious initially as during my booking, there was no review and as I have 2 kids with me, I really worried stranded on the streets as we arriving at night. But the pm with them slowly put me at ease. Another issue was we accidentally left our tripod upon check out. After coming back from the Great Ocean roadtrip, they purposely arrange Uber to send me back the tripod (deeply appreciate the effort and thoughtfullness). So yeah, go ahead and book this, guarantee happy with your option. Thanks.

The night receptionists were great, with excellent service. The location is in Zone 2, and you can catch a ride right outside the corner, though for a group, taking an Uber to the city center might be more cost-effective. The hotel's design meant that none of the bathroom doors had locks. In our first room, the bathroom door was semi-transparent with a large gap on the side, making it uncomfortable and awkward since there were four of us sharing the room. After speaking with the staff, we were moved to another room with a solid wooden bathroom door, which was much better. However, the new room's lighting was very dim, and some power outlets were loose; even their own lamp would fall out. The small cooking light in the kitchen was also broken. The towel rack in the bathroom was attached to the ceiling, but the ceiling around it was cracked and looked like it was about to fall, which felt quite dangerous. One day, I requested room cleaning and left a note asking them not to make the bed, but the staff didn't even empty the bathroom trash; instead, they left a trash bag for me to change myself.... There were only two tissues left, and they weren't refilled. When I went down to the reception, the staff said they could only make a note to refill them tomorrow, as they didn't have any immediately available. There was no phone in the room, so I had to go to the front desk myself to find staff. Each shift only had one receptionist, so usually, I'd have to wait 10-15 minutes while they dealt with other guests, which was ridiculous. It's not that the staff are bad, but they are severely understaffed! Also, because there was a kitchen but no cooking utensils, when I asked the front desk, the receptionist had to personally bring a set up... they're clearly too busy!

I paid over 1500 for 3 nights! No greeting drink, free mini bar was a can of soda water 1 can of coke. No room service! I went to reception a couple of times for basic questions & the greeting by the younger lady was non existent it was like I was a hassle!! I did not feel welcomed at all & made me steer clear of her! The lady when I checked in was really nice & the man who checked me out was absolutely lovely, stood with me until my Uber arrived he was a gentleman & wish I could have dealt with him the whole stay & the First Lady on check in! Very very disappointed value for money was non existent!!

First of all, I would like to thank the hotel's service team for their warm service, because Jetstar Airlines' unreliable delay delayed my suitcase, registered the address of the adina hotel at the airport, the hotel front desk helped to receive the airport phone and immediately informed me of the luggage delivery arrangement by email. Although I checked out early the next morning and went to other places to travel, the service team still helped me sign and store it until the third night. Because the phone communication was worried that the English expression was not clear, we were all email communication, four communication emails were promptly feedback, and the service was particularly intimate. The studio apartment we booked actually arranged a two-room apartment. The living room and dining room are very large, with a kitchen and washing machine, suitable for family travel. There is a paid parking lot in the building. In the complex parking environment in the city, it is much more convenient to park directly in the hotel. There is a supermarket downstairs, walking distance to many attractions and large shopping centers in the city, especially recommended.

The location is fantastic! It's right opposite the Shrine of Remembrance and a park. There's a supermarket and a tram stop right outside, and you can take a free tram into Melbourne city center. The room's facilities are pretty basic, and there's no room cleaning on weekends.
