Adakah Rakyat Malaysia Memerlukan Visa untuk Melawat Australia?
Ya, bagi warganegara Malaysia perlu visa untuk melawat Australia. Untuk lawatan singkat (pelancongan/perniagaan ≤3 bulan setiap masuk), pilihan biasa ialah:
- Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subclass 601
- Mohon melalui aplikasi “Australian ETA” sahaja.
- Caj perkhidmatan sekitar AUD $20. ( Caj perkhidmatan tidak boleh dikembalikan)
- Sah hingga 12 bulan (kemasukan berganda), maksimum 3 bulan setiap lawatan.

🗂️ Jenis Visa untuk Rakyat Malaysia Melancong ke Australia
Berikut jenis visa/permit paling relevan untuk rakyat Malaysia yang mahu melancong (atau lawatan ringkas) ke Australia:
Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subkelas 601
- Untuk lawatan pelancongan atau perniagaan jangka pendek.
- Mohon hanya melalui aplikasi mudah alih “Australian ETA” (Android/iOS).
- Sah sehingga 12 bulan, membenarkan kemasukan berulang, maksimum 3 bulan setiap masuk.
- Terdapat caj perkhidmatan ~AUD 20 bagi permohonan melalui aplikasi.
Peraturan Penting
- Tidak dibenarkan bekerja atau menerima bayaran di Australia

Dislike: be aware of what street the room facing. It’s loud at night, ppl talk and laugh can hear very clearly.
Services: overall are good, I’ve been staying meriton many times in many locations, but this one Meriton on Kent was disappointing. I’ve asked baby amenities before my trip start but never got any as they promised they’ve been noted and prepared.
Special note: at the checked in they gave us a small room facing loud street and construction site( we booked a higher price of room and staying 5 nights)。
They had originally agreed to change our room. However, due to a communication gap among the staff the next day, it took quite a long time to resolve the misunderstanding before the room change was finally completed.

I booked the cheapest twin room on the 26th floor, offering a direct view of the Bell Tower from above. The room was incredibly spacious, probably over 50 square meters, and even had a bathtub. While the furniture was quite basic, the front desk service was absolutely excellent. I also visited the gym. The building itself is a former Sydney Post Office, so many people come to take photos. The hotel's location is indeed great, right by Darling Harbour with plenty of dining options nearby. However, the cleanliness was a bit subpar. Even after leaving a note asking for fresh towels, they only provided one clean towel for a double room. There was no weighing scale in the room, and the body lotion in the bathroom was empty – I had to write a note to get it replaced. Overall, my impression is just average. The location is a big plus – it's a short walk to Circular Quay and the Sydney Opera House, and super convenient for shopping. The building itself reminds me of Shanghai's Wukang Mansion. There was some construction nearby, but it didn't disturb my sleep at night. I especially have to commend the service; check-in and check-out were both very warm and welcoming. On a rainy day when I was heading to the airport, they were so thoughtful and helped load my luggage into the car to keep me from getting wet. The fireworks at Darling Harbour were absolutely stunning, and our room faced Darling Harbour directly. The kids basically lived on the balcony, doing homework, watching fireworks, and eating – they called it the best hotel of the trip. Personally, I found the room a bit small; once we opened our two 28-inch suitcases, there was no space left. Also, the lighting was a bit dim and lacked brightness. Breakfast was quite Western-style, good quality but with limited variety. The kids were quite sad when they realized there was no ice cream, no chocolate fountain, no dessert bar, and no self-service juice (compared to the Crown in Melbourne and Langham where we stayed). But as parents, we were thrilled! Less sugar intake, and the fruits and yogurt were excellent quality. The eggs used for omelets and Eggs Benedict were organic. The downside is that it's a bit far from the subway station, and the walk back to the hotel area at night felt a little dark. My biggest complaint is that in the morning, the kids left a cup on the breakfast table, and when we checked out, they wouldn't even look for it, claiming the breakfast bar staff had gone off duty. The hotel is in a great location. Central to circular quay and darling harbour. Very close to wynards train station. Although on a steep road it’s not too far to walk from York street. Everything about the hotel was spotless from having the doors open everytime you entered or left the hotel. The only disappointment for us was the breakfast. The hotel's amenities are really subpar; it's nothing like a 4-star hotel. Sofitel properties in China are much better configured. I stayed at their hotels in Sydney and Gold Coast this trip, and I definitely won't be staying with this brand again. The bathroom sink was like something out of a hostel – small, single basin, and so low and shallow that when you wash your face or hands, water splashes all over your waist and stomach. We arrived quite late on the first day, and the air conditioning wasn't central, it was very noisy, and the fridge also made a lot of noise. Plus, we were at the end of a hallway. I contacted Ctrip customer service; we couldn't switch rooms on the second day, but they moved us on the third. However, in the new room, the toilet seat didn't have a soft-close mechanism, so it would either slam shut or just fall down. The towels were placed on a tiny shelf – I don't know if that's a deliberate design choice by the hotel? Anyway, it's hard to put into words… all the rooms are at the end of hallways. I absolutely will not stay at any Sofitel brand hotels again… This is my second time in Australia this year, and it's winter, the off-season. Hotel prices were higher than what I booked in February, and my experiences in Gold Coast and Sydney were disappointing… Cairns was even worse, essentially a hostel-level hotel by Chinese standards, with twin beds less than 1 meter wide each… When booking a hotel, it really has to be an international brand, but Sofitel is a chain, and the one in Sydney was truly bad…DariBRL 918

The room was very pleasant, with new, clean furniture and high-quality plumbing. It had all the conveniences, such as a kettle, iron, and ironing board. The air conditioning and water worked perfectly, and the room was warm and comfortable. There were no issues with soundproofing; you'd only hear neighbors if they opened their door or spoke loudly in the hallway.
On the ground floor, there are coffee machines where you can enjoy unlimited free coffee with milk, sugar, and cookies.
The location is convenient, close to cafes and restaurants, Darling Harbour, Chinatown, and bus and metro stops.
The staff was very courteous. Once, when the hotel elevator wasn't working, they compensated us with chocolates and water.

Booked a twin room with breakfast (including breakfast for two children) through Trip.com. The front desk initially claimed there was no breakfast, then gave us a room on the lowest floor. When checking out, it was pouring rain, and we had a ton of luggage, plus elderly and children. The concierge not only didn't help with an umbrella, but was also hesitant about lending one for us to get to the car.
I called the hotel's customer service through Trip.com, and the breakfast issue was resolved. As for the other 'software' aspects, it's really an issue of quality for an old five-star hotel. Chinese guests booking through Trip.com likely face discrimination and difficulties at this hotel.
The location is on the row closest to the Opera House, facing the Harbour Bridge in the front and the Botanic Garden in the back. The surroundings are right in the heart of the tourist hustle, but I personally prefer the garden view side. Breakfast is purely Continental, a la carte.DariBRL 1,480

Cleanliness was also very good (4/5). The common areas and bathrooms were well-maintained and tidy.
However, I rated both Service and Facilities as Okay (3/5). While the staff was courteous, the check-in process felt a bit slow, and I didn't feel the communal facilities truly stood out. For instance, the common room felt small for the number of guests.

Realistically, it's night and day the types of service you are afforded for a few extra $100's, in essentially all western / non-western countries.. Not in Australia.
Air con vibrated all night long = zero sleep, maintenance came the following day, his advice was to run the air con on the lowest possible fan speed.. Lol love that for summer, they never offered another room, or any kind of compensation for the poor hospitality.
Instead... what I needed to understand, only after I've left the lobby, collected my car from parking $65 per night BTW.. And look on an already entirely pre-paid stay... Oop only another $700 charge...

Check-in is on the 7th floor. I got a room upgrade and was able to check in early. The Southbank area is very quiet, and since Melbourne city center isn't too big, it's pretty convenient to get everywhere; it's not out of the way at all. The pool is quite small though.

When we arrived, we had an issue with our room—the balcony door wouldn’t lock, and the balcony was somewhat accessible from other apartments. Concerned for our belongings, we asked if we could change rooms. The front desk staff were extremely accommodating and kindly offered us a free upgrade to a higher-floor, two-bedroom apartment.
Unfortunately, when we arrived at the new room, the second bedroom was locked and inaccessible. We didn’t bother raising it as we hadn’t booked a two-bedroom apartment and didn’t really need the extra space. However, we are starting to feel that the rooms are becoming a bit... dated. There’s often a musty smell when we check in, and this time, we found someone else’s socks in the dryer—after drying some of our own clothes, which wasn’t pleasant.
A little more attention to cleaning between guests and ensuring faults are properly addressed would go a long way. Sadly, this experience has left us considering other accommodation options for our next stay—something we wouldn’t normally do, as the Oaks’ location is fantastic! That said, I want to reiterate that the front desk staff were absolutely lovely and very accommodating.DariBRL 610

It seems the room has not been cleaned thoroughly. There is still dust in several areas, and the kitchen , oven and refrigerator do not appear very clean, as if they were not wiped properly. It also feels like the cleaning was done a little hastily, as I had to request garbage bags, dish soap, and cloths from reception. Service was fabulous. Leslie was absolutely wonderful to deal with, a joy. The apartment was a great layout with everything you need for a short stay. First of all, the hotel does not have a reception desk. You need to contact the service staff to check in later or soon. If you don't speak English well, do your homework in advance or choose another room.
Geographical environment: 8-10 minutes walk to crown business district (take a 6-year-old child). The Crown business district is full of food, shopping and casinos. There are many supermarkets in the downstairs for a minute or two. You can buy food and cook, and provide daily living supplies. Very convenient.
Room facilities: The hotel is a bit like a homestay. In a comprehensive apartment. You need to swipe the magnetic card to get in and out, which is relatively safe. The overall space is large, but both bedrooms are 1.5 meters small beds. The kitchen has pans, cutlery, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. But there is no seasoning. Cooking a light meal should be OK. Due to the folklore nature, there is no daily cleaning service. There is a swimming pool in the building.
Parking charges, $ 25 a day. Just come in and out. Friends who drive are highly recommended. City parking is too expensive. It's a good deal to take a taxi.
Disadvantages:
1. Give Ctrip. When booking, it was not marked clearly, I thought there was a hotel with a front desk. Stupidly arrived and found out that it was a homestay type. The current homeowner couldn't get through to the phone, and there was no place to stop and jump straight. Later, the host came and said that Ctrip only told us to check in at 5 o'clock, and did not give the host the contact information, so he was not prepared. Check-in at five is my time for Ctrip, but we flew from Brisbane, that is only approximate time. If Ctrip protects my personal privacy, I will not give the owner contact information, but at least I have to contact me Tell me how to check in, let me contact the owner in advance! !!

A) Mohon ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) – Subkelas 601
- Semak kelayakan & sediakan pasport (masih sah).
