Adakah Rakyat Malaysia Memerlukan Visa untuk Melawat Australia?
Ya, bagi warganegara Malaysia perlu visa untuk melawat Australia. Untuk lawatan singkat (pelancongan/perniagaan ≤3 bulan setiap masuk), pilihan biasa ialah:
- Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subclass 601
- Mohon melalui aplikasi “Australian ETA” sahaja.
- Caj perkhidmatan sekitar AUD $20. ( Caj perkhidmatan tidak boleh dikembalikan)

🗂️ Jenis Visa untuk Rakyat Malaysia Melancong ke Australia
Berikut jenis visa/permit paling relevan untuk rakyat Malaysia yang mahu melancong (atau lawatan ringkas) ke Australia:
Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subkelas 601
- Untuk lawatan pelancongan atau perniagaan jangka pendek.
- Mohon hanya melalui aplikasi mudah alih “Australian ETA” (Android/iOS).
- Sah sehingga 12 bulan, membenarkan kemasukan berulang, maksimum 3 bulan setiap masuk.
- Terdapat caj perkhidmatan ~AUD 20 bagi permohonan melalui aplikasi.

For my Sydney trip, I chose the Meriton Suites Kent Street, and overall, it was a great experience, especially for families.
The hotel's location is super convenient, very close to Chinatown, with an abundance of dining options nearby. Whether you're craving Chinese food or local delicacies, you'll easily find something. The pho downstairs was delicious, making dining both easy and tasty. The suites are designed like apartments, fully equipped with everything you need for daily living, and the rooms are clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay.

This hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of Sydney, making it incredibly convenient to get around. You're just steps away from light rail, train, and bus stops. During breakfast, you can even look up and see the clock tower through the glass ceiling – a lovely touch! What I loved most was how spacious and bright the room was. Although it's simple, the design is very thoughtful and practical. The bathroom had hooks for bathrobes and a rod for hanging face towels (something most hotels lack!), a bathtub, and a full-wall mirror above the vanity. The wet and dry areas were separate, which is great. Outside the bathroom is a walk-in closet with a row of wardrobes, all with full-length mirrored doors. The hotel also provides ironing facilities, complimentary toiletries, slippers, and bottled water. All this comes at a really reasonable price, offering excellent value for money. The breakfast was decent too. There was a slight hiccup though: for two mornings in a row, there was drilling noise that woke my daughter up. The fireworks at Darling Harbour were absolutely stunning, and our room faced Darling Harbour directly. The kids basically lived on the balcony, doing homework, watching fireworks, and eating – they called it the best hotel of the trip. Personally, I found the room a bit small; once we opened our two 28-inch suitcases, there was no space left. Also, the lighting was a bit dim and lacked brightness. Breakfast was quite Western-style, good quality but with limited variety. The kids were quite sad when they realized there was no ice cream, no chocolate fountain, no dessert bar, and no self-service juice (compared to the Crown in Melbourne and Langham where we stayed). But as parents, we were thrilled! Less sugar intake, and the fruits and yogurt were excellent quality. The eggs used for omelets and Eggs Benedict were organic. The downside is that it's a bit far from the subway station, and the walk back to the hotel area at night felt a little dark. My biggest complaint is that in the morning, the kids left a cup on the breakfast table, and when we checked out, they wouldn't even look for it, claiming the breakfast bar staff had gone off duty. The hotel's location is fantastic! Turn right out of the hotel and walk 100 meters to Queen Victoria Building, or turn left and you'll reach Sydney Tower in just one minute. Sydney University and the Fish Market are also not far, and there's a taxi stand right outside the hotel, making it super easy to catch a cab. The hotel's location is truly excellent. Hyde Park is right across the street from the main entrance, and Westfield shopping center is just out the back. Museums, art galleries, and the Opera House are all within walking distance – the location is simply impeccable.
However, the service experience was quite poor. Housekeeping was slow to restock amenities like body lotion. After my bathrobe was taken for laundry in the evening, I called the front desk at 7:55 PM, but it wasn't delivered until 9:20 PM. It only arrived after I called to follow up again.
Even more unpleasant was the front desk service. One Chinese staff member was laughing and chatting with foreign guests. When it was my turn, I asked if I could speak in Chinese, and he hesitated for a couple of seconds before responding with a very serious expression. Throughout my inquiries about extending my stay and valet parking, he maintained a poker face and showed no service attitude whatsoever. It was a very bad experience.DariTHB 6,255

The hotel's location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk to the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanic Garden. It's also super convenient for catching a ferry from the wharf.
The hotel's parking is actually at a Wilson Parking lot. We were told that booking overnight parking in advance through the Wilson app would be much cheaper; we didn't pre-book and it cost us 67 AUD for one night.
If you're driving, you can navigate directly to Wilson Parking - Sofitel Wentworth, Sydney CBD, NSW Car Park. The car park entrance is on Blight Street, just behind the hotel's main entrance.
When you arrive, you leave your keys with the Wilson staff and they'll park the car for you. You pay when you pick up the car, and they'll bring it back out to you.DariTHB 6,169

YEHS Hotel Sydney Harbour Suites was one of the better hotels we booked in Sydney. We booked about a month in advance, and everything looked well managed. Because we booked early, we got a room with a separate bed and sofa area for a similar price to other small-room hotels — that probably made the stay feel better. The lobby area was nice, and the reception staff were professional. They also offered free coffee and cookies at the lobby, which was a pleasant touch.
Check-in time is around 2 pm, so it’s good to plan your arrival accordingly. The staff kindly allowed us early check-in by about an hour. Similar to other YEHS hotels, they mentioned social media promotion, but they did not check before allocating the room. The staff were polite, helpful, and even kept our luggage safely when we arrived early.
The location is very good – close to Pyrmont Bridge and the CBD area. It’s an good walk to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. The way to the CBD has a short uphill walk but is not difficult for most people. Overall, a comfortable stay in a convenient and pleasant area.DariTHB 3,082

Absolutely superb hotel. The location is obviously perfect, being just a couple of minutes from Circular Quay train station and on top of the wharf for ferries to everywhere as well as just across the road from the Royal Botanic Garden and a short stroll from the Sydney Opera House. First of all, the hotel does not have a reception desk. You need to contact the service staff to check in later or soon. If you don't speak English well, do your homework in advance or choose another room.
Geographical environment: 8-10 minutes walk to crown business district (take a 6-year-old child). The Crown business district is full of food, shopping and casinos. There are many supermarkets in the downstairs for a minute or two. You can buy food and cook, and provide daily living supplies. Very convenient.
Room facilities: The hotel is a bit like a homestay. In a comprehensive apartment. You need to swipe the magnetic card to get in and out, which is relatively safe. The overall space is large, but both bedrooms are 1.5 meters small beds. The kitchen has pans, cutlery, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. But there is no seasoning. Cooking a light meal should be OK. Due to the folklore nature, there is no daily cleaning service. There is a swimming pool in the building.
Parking charges, $ 25 a day. Just come in and out. Friends who drive are highly recommended. City parking is too expensive. It's a good deal to take a taxi.
Disadvantages:
1. Give Ctrip. When booking, it was not marked clearly, I thought there was a hotel with a front desk. Stupidly arrived and found out that it was a homestay type. The current homeowner couldn't get through to the phone, and there was no place to stop and jump straight. Later, the host came and said that Ctrip only told us to check in at 5 o'clock, and did not give the host the contact information, so he was not prepared. Check-in at five is my time for Ctrip, but we flew from Brisbane, that is only approximate time. If Ctrip protects my personal privacy, I will not give the owner contact information, but at least I have to contact me Tell me how to check in, let me contact the owner in advance! !!
2. The overall health of the room is ok, but the smell is really bad. It feels like a guest cooking too much. Hope you can do a good job of ventilation.Very Good0 Ulasan

Permohonan laman web rasmi: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/, Anda boleh log masuk ke sistem ETA di laman web rasmi Jabatan Imigresen Australia untuk memohon.
A) Mohon ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) – Subkelas 601
- Semak kelayakan & sediakan pasport (masih sah).
- Muat turun aplikasi mudah alih “Australian ETA” (iOS/Android). Semua pemohon ETA wajib guna app ini.
- Sediakan telefon dengan kamera + NFC & lokasi diaktifkan, serta e-mel aktif (disyorkan oleh Suruhanjaya Tinggi Australia di KL).
- Isi butiran dalam app, imbas pasport & swafoto mengikut arahan.
- Bayar caj perkhidmatan ~AUD 20 dalam aplikasi (tiada “visa application charge” berasingan untuk ETA).
- Terima keputusan secara digital – ETA dipautkan kepada pasport anda; tiada pelekat visa.
ETA lazimnya sah hingga 12 bulan, kemasukan berganda, maksimum 3 bulan setiap lawatan.
B) Mohon Visitor Visa – Subkelas 600 (jika tidak layak ETA / perlukan tinggal lebih lama)
- Pilih aliran yang sesuai (contoh: Tourist stream (outside Australia) atau Business Visitor).
- Cipta/Log masuk ImmiAccount dan mulakan permohonan atas talian.
- Sediakan dokumen sokongan (pasport, foto, bukti dana, itinerari, surat majikan/cuti, undangan jika ada, dsb.) mengikut arahan di laman Home Affairs.
- Bayar yuran yang berkaitan dalam ImmiAccount.
- Biometrik (jika diminta): anda akan terima surat arahan biometrik; tempah janji temu di VFS Global Kuala Lumpur dan hadir untuk cap jari & foto.
- Pantau mesej dalam ImmiAccount untuk sebarang permintaan maklumat tambahan & keputusan. Visa (jika diluluskan) dipautkan secara elektronik kepada pasport anda.
Tips penting
- Jangan beli tiket/tempah hotel tidak boleh dikembalikan wang sebelum visa diluluskan. (Amalan selamat semasa memohon.)
- Transit sahaja? Semak Transit visa (771) atau TWOV (transit tanpa visa) jika layak.
