Hotel Dengan Gim di Ostrobothnia Utara, Finland

I have stayed at this hotel a few times. The location is good quite close to the railway station, walking distance. The rooms are clean, some of them have built saunas in the room so you can make it cosy in the evening. The prices are moderate. Quite nice breakfast included and also free coffee with bisquites and cakes in the evenings and after breakfast for the customers. I have always met a very nice staff here. They are willing to make the best of your visit. The hotel also has a car parking area.

Great location, right near the city centre and the cinema. Easy to get to the hotel from the airport. Friendly staff. Great breakfast, a lot of healthy options. Nice design. Rooms were immense. Would highly recommend it and will definitely be staying here again on my next trip.

Surprising location in the middle of nature. Spent a good two hours in the Vihiluoto marsh behind the hotel watching a good variety of birds. The ruffs were a little far, but had seen them close-up the day before. Had only an overnight stay with a tour that ended at midnight so did not get to eat dinner the hotel restaurant. The breakfast was great and staff helpful. My main complaint is that to get from the reception area to my room I had to go through 5 heavy doors with lots of door handle touching- not too hygienic these days. Also there was no English channel news on the room TV.

We stayed 4 nights in the week leading up to Chris**as in one of the lodges and have to say the accommodation was excellent. We had a lodge 10 mins walk from the main complex wuth bedroom on the first floor of the duplex and two ground floor bedrooms a kitchen diner and lounge. Downstairs shower room was big and had a sauna at the end of it, there was a covered patio but it was too cold to use it - there were amazing views of a frozen lake out the back. The hotel itself was good, breakfast was standard offering I would say and we only ate dinner in O'Leary's Sports Bar so cannot comment on the other meals there. The hotel shop has a limited offering and is quite expensive, be aware the shop cannot sell alcohol after 9pm. The pool was great and kept the kids entertained, lighting made it look really unique. The slide, waterfalls and whirlpools were all really good fun, didn't get a chance to try the sauna. The price for a family ticket was €60 and gives access to everything (massages extra). We also went in the Angry Birds park on our last night, this was €10 for my eldest and free for my youngest as she was under 4 years old - they both loved it. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful when we needed anything, but we didn't need to bother them much. A couple of things I would say is that as a family of four with two young children (3 & 6) arrived at 6:30pm after a full day of travelling having got up at 3am, we had to all drag our Suitcases to our lodge on our own in the snow which was a 5-10 minute walk away and not easy to find the first time. I think they should look to half a golf buggy (there is a golf course opposite) to help you to your room on the first night - have had this in plenty of other hotels previously so I don't see why it would be a problem. Also when we booked a taxi to take us back to the airport it would have been helpful had the taxi been able to come to our lodge to collect us and our luggage rather than having to make two trips with the luggage and children to reception to meet it. I feel these are small items that can be fixed with a bit of feedback and didn't impact the total enjoyment of the trip overall - the kids loved it and given the choice, would certainly return!

Nice hotel at the nice location. Don’t forget to walk around the hotel to enjoy the amazing landscape. And the breakfast you won’t regret.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights last week. Find my review is below in plusses (+) and minuses (-): + Very clean and modern hotel + Nice rooms and they all seem to have a view to the beautiful beach +++ + Staff is very friendly + There is a gas station/store/restaurant nearby, from where you gan get groceries etc., and there is also a monibar in the room + Sandy Kelt is a very nice and cozy Irish pub only about 100m away. There's also a steak house (Pihvitupa). Both have exellent food + Nice looking spa area (unfortunately it has been under renovation for a long time already. They don't seem to have any hurry in getting it ready.. - As of September 1, 2022, there is no longer any regular sausages or meatballs on the beakfast menu. The only sausages there are raindeer sausages (dark), which many people might not care for. I think most of us would appreciate sausages, meatballs and bacon for breakfast. The breaffast is a bit of a disappointment for a 4-star hotel. Bring the meat back! - The toilet paper in the rooms is cheap, the kind you would find at gas stations. This toilet paper is not suitable for a 4-star hotel. So, guests, please bring your own toilet paper! - It seems like the spa, at the hotel has been in renovation for a long time now. Please get the spa working again! Without a spa, it really kakes out a lot from the experience.
