Dalam perjalanan dari Wineglass Bay ke Launceston, kami memilih hotel ini untuk menginap selama satu malam. Selepas bangun tidur, kami boleh pergi ke Flaming Bay untuk mendaftar masuk. Hotel ini berjarak 20 minit pemanduan dari Flaming Bay. Keseluruhan persekitaran hotel ini serupa dengan rumah tamu Samsung domestik, tetapi kemudahan dan kebersihan di dalamnya masih OK. Makcik di meja depan juga sangat bersemangat. Saya masih ingat bahawa sarapan pagi ialah 10 dolar Australia bagi setiap orang, dan anda boleh memilih set makan tengah hari yang berbeza, yang rasanya sedap Satu-satunya perkara buruk tentang hotel ialah kerana lokasinya agak terpencil, vodafone tidak dapat menerima isyarat. Telefon bimbit saya adalah dari operator Optus, jadi daripada 4 orang dalam kumpulan yang sama, hanya telefon bimbit saya yang mempunyai isyarat. WiFi juga tidak berguna. Bilik kami tidak terletak dengan baik, dan WiFi tidak diterima sama sekali.

Situated within 87 acres of a beautiful natural environment by the shores of Georges Bay, this was a perfect place to relax for two nights and just enjoy the tranquility of the nature surrounding us. If you are a little bit into birds (like we are) you are well catered for, with binoculars and bird identification book provided. There is a bird hide down by the water’s edge, to view the numerous Black swans, White-faced herons and other aquatic birds, White-fronted chats breeding in the heath shrubs and Superb Fairy-wrens in the grasses. Then there are honeyeaters, wattle-birds, etc in the trees and shrubs around the grounds, the occasional raptor overhead, and add the soothing background sounds of frogs and cicadas. Just our idea of bliss! We stayed in Sandpiper apartment, which was modern, spacious,very well furnished and the kitchen well equipped for self catering. The owners live on the property and maintain it well, and are delightful to meet and talk to. We wish our stay at Pelican Point could have been longer.

A lovely, modern, waterside park, seems quite new and everything is in first class condition. We have an ensuite facility that is spacious and well appointed. There is an on-site restaurant/bar that is excellent for happy hour taking in the wonderful water views. It surely must be one of the best camp kitchens I have seen, as it has everything you need, fridges, freezers, elec hotplates, BBQ grill plates, microwaves and more. A lovely find for us and we wish we had longer to really enjoy the place better.

Stayed in room 9. Certainly not an apartment more like a cell. Very small narrow room with no outside window other than the bathroom one with obscure glass and a locked insect screen and the outside door which had a long narrow piece of glass running down the length of it. Had been sold as a motel unit with a kitchen. No photos of this accommodation appears on the website. I bought food to avoid going out as it was Sunday and nothing much open in St Helen’s. ‘Kitchen’ was a very small bench, a small microwave, a small fridge and no sink to wash dishes. Sentences on information card referring to the mentioned stove top etc had been crossed out with vivid. What was mentioned was a $150 charge if any food smells were left behind. Not sure how you could avoid this if eating in the room and not having a sink to clean up. Using the hand basin didn’t appeal and the porcelain was cracked as well. Didn’t feel comfortable that there would be a safe way out if there was fire. Access was via a lockbox. This felt a little odd. Would not recommend or stay again. If considering make sure you specifically avoid units 8 and 9. Actually if I had then what I know now I would avoid St Helen’s altogether. Found the whole experience disappointing and there are much nicer places to stay and visit on the East Coast.
