Pacific Lagoon Apartments
4.4/521 Ulasan
We stayed here our first three nights after arriving in Port Vila and LOVED it. Highly recommend paying the bit extra to have a waterfront bungalow - we had #6 (two bedrooms) I think and it was just heaven having the water lapping just 15 steps out from the back sliding door. Location was so peaceful and about 5 drive into the centre of Port Vila. The bungalow itself is quite basic but very clean and a great hot shower, tv, lovely table and chairs at the back overlooking the lagoon, and temperamental wi-fi which worked better by the pool area. There was everything we needed in the kitchen (including microwave and coffee mocha!) to be able to self-cater which is handy where food and eating out in Vanuatu is pricey. You are a mini-bus taxi ride away from supermarket/Port Vila town centre so worthwhile picking up essentials such as drinks, beer, milk on way there if possible, to tide you over until you can do a bigger supermarket trip. (Note that supermarkets stop selling alcohol in Vanuatu from 11am Saturday through to Monday morning.) Manager, Chris, was incredibly helpful to us and helped make our stay very enjoyable. We went to Three Pigs restaurant (1km) our first night and second night when we had a car we drove to a Thai restaurant Chris had recommended. The pool is inviting but quite small and was cold whilst we were there, but there are kayaks to borrow and all sorts of snorkelling gear, reef shoes etc that we didn't need but could be handy. This really was a lovely place to begin our hols, enjoy the lagoon views and slide into the island vibe.
Grand Hotel & Casino
4.2/553 Ulasan
Our check-in was somewhat a bit delayed due to no reservation. The gentleman who served us, Willie, was fantastic. He was able to accommodate us after looking into the booking and requested we discuss the matter with the reservations team the next day. After dealing with my booking agent very early the next morning, we were able to sort the issue out. Apart from the cigarette smell as soon as you enter the hotel lobby and the stench in the lifts, the hotel is perfectly situated in the main town with a couple minutes walk to the ever-bustling market. The room offers splendid views of the waterfront which was absolutely breath taking. I was very impressed with the room especially the cleanliness. If the hotel can somewhat separate the entrance to the hotel and the ****** from the hotel lobby, this will surely lift 'first impression' image of the hotel.
Tamanu on the Beach
4.6/555 Ulasan
Words cannot describe how perfect this resort really is. My now husband and I feel incredibly honoured to have been one of the last weddings at Tamanu on the Beach. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location to say I do! First and foremost, the staff are incredible. They are all so friendly and go above and beyond. Nothing is ever a problem and they are always smiling :) The location is impeccable - it is 30 mins from Port Vila but feels like you are on your own private island! And the food!!! All our wedding party commented about how incredibly fresh and delicious the food was. Every single meal we ate at Tamanu was scrumptious! The spa was fantastic too! I had the best, most relaxing facial of my life there - thank you!!! We loved how family friendly Tamanu is too! We had quite a few kids staying at the resort during the wedding and it was so wonderful to see how quickly they bonded to both the staff and each other. The staff are incredibly attentive and love kids, which made us, as parents, feel incredibly safe. Not once did we feel like our kids were inconveniencing the staff- even when they ran over to them during dinner service for big hugs!! It was just so beautiful to see. And Tamanu offers kids club and babysitting, which we used and was incredibly handy for us to get some time together. It was also so beautiful to see how quickly the kids bonded with each other (without reliance on devices). Being out in the beautiful beach setting, they were kept busy running down to the beach together, chasing waves and catching crabs. So wholesome! To Fiona, Anthony and the team, thank you so much for making our wedding and our stay so incredibly special. Our wedding was honestly the most magical day of our lives and we are so grateful to each and every one of you. We will be back! I cannot recommend Tamanu more highly. If you are looking for a tropical holiday to get some real relaxation and get away from it all, Tamanu is for you!
Sunset Bungalows
4.3/58 Ulasan
We had a lovely time at Sunset Bungalows, everybody was so friendly and welcoming, a special shout out to Maria, who worked every day from cooking to reception from early in the morning to late at night, the cleaning lady and the night security man were also so lovely, he waited with us at 4.30am for our transport to arive to the airport. The rooms are nice, bed comfy and a beautiful outlook when you open the doors to the lagoon, with the water lapping up the front, the whole resort is looking a little tired, but after being hit with over 2 years of COVID and 2 cyclones this resort is still trying to recover, the only downside for us was the lack of choice in food, but was not really an issue we just got a bus into town and ate in there. The town is also still recovering a lot of places are still closed or have shut completely but all in all if you want a nice quiet place with great service and beatuiful people with clean comfortable rooms then you will not be disappointed with Sunset Bungalows.
