Asrama di Otsu

Location and facilities are good. Substandard quality of service and staff. The first day upon arrival, the hotel staff lost my luggage until I returned at 8pm and found out my luggage hadn’t been sent to my room. Turned out they searched everywhere and found my luggage. I had booked 3 nights stay in two different apps. The hotel staff told me to check out after two nights and check in again for the third night.

Stayed at Youzanso during late March 2023. It was during the cherry blossom season. We (family of four) had the room with the Lake Otsu view and private bath. The room was sufficient for 4 of us but I wouldn't call it spacious. However, the room and bathroom were clean. The room came with dinner and breakfast for 4 of us and costed about AUD800. The dinner and breakfast was quite good and would recommend to anyone considering the half board. It might get old if u were staying for few days but we were only there for one night. We toured Kyoto for the day and stayed here overnight then went back to kyoto for more sightseeing. It wasn't as convenient as if you stayed in Kyoto but the travel wasn't long or difficult. The property is bit dated and looks more like a hotel than a ryokan. The facilities are clean but also look dated as well. However, the public onsen is great, clean and the outdoor bath is a must. ・どーでも良いですが、トリップアドバイザーのサイトに苦言。このサイトの、誰と一緒に行きましたか ?で、ファミリーの旅行は、「家族（子供連れ）」と「夫婦」しかないのはなぜ？親と行くのですけど。親から見れば子供連れと言えなくもないが日本語としてはおかしい。バリエーションとしては兄弟姉妹も現実的かな。 ・観光の際に素泊まりで1泊しました ・お風呂は温泉ではありません ・2回へは階段のみでエレベータはありません ・琵琶湖直結です ・たまたまですが、琵琶湖でボートの大会があるとかで、学生が多かった

Very nice. The owner is very nice and helpful. He is able to speak English. Moreover, the private Onsen room is really impressive. Hope I can go next time.

The Prince Hotel in Biwako is a place where a traveler can relax entirely. The lake-view room is nowhere one can compare. I feel owning the whole lake scene when sitting by the wide picturistic window from the 11th floor and sipping a cup of green tea. From frontdesk to suttle bus drivers, all staff speak English and are so helpful. The suttle service running twice an hour betwwen the hotel and the train station is a saving of taxi fare. The lobby at the entrance is so spaciously open that one can sit in an armchair at a corner and will not feel uncomfortable albeit facing a big group of travelers around. I will stay here again when I visit Kansai area next time. James

２月初旬、日曜日に入浴付き昼食のコースでお邪魔しました。場所は雄琴温泉の山手の高台にあり、国道からはひと筋裏通りに入り口があるので、注意しておかないと通り過ぎそうになります。専用の取り付け道路の急こう配の坂道を上った突き当りに建物が有ります。車利用でしたが、ホテルに到着するとスタッフさんのお出迎え。昼食だけなのに気の利いた事です。一旦ラウンジでお茶のサービスを頂いたのですが、ここのスタッフは金髪の女性、日本語は大丈夫です。急坂を上ってきただけあって、ラウンジからの見晴らしは非常に良いです。準備が出来ましたと呼びに来られたのでレストランへ移動すると、広い空間に我々一組のみ。申し訳ない気分に包まれました。いただいた昼食は、小鍋の付いた会席の和食料理。小さな器に少しづつ盛付けられた料理が品数多く配膳され、女性に人気のコースと聞いていたので、なるほどと感じました。ただし、小鉢料理は作り置きの物が多かった印象があり、この辺りは価格相応なのかと。昼食を済ませ次はお風呂。フロントの黒服男性スタッフが、大浴場まで道案内をしてくれました。お風呂は大き目の内湯と壁に囲まれた露天、４～５人用のサウナからなっており、お湯は全体的にぬるめ。泉質は弱アルカリ泉だと思うのですが、内湯の方が少しぬめりが感じられる湯のようです。サウナは一般的なドライサウナで、小さな水風呂が有ります。１時間ほどお風呂を堪能して、来たときと同じく数名のスタッフさんに見送られ、ホテルを後にしました。全部で３時間ほどの滞在でしたが、食事やお風呂より、印象に残ったのはスタッフ一人一人の心配りでした。決してお安い宿ではないのですが、サービスの質の高さを考えると、恐らく大半の利用客は納得して帰られる宿だと思います。家が近いので宿泊での利用機会は少ないと思いますが、一度は泊まってみたい気がしています。お世話になりました。

Came here with family during the Sakura season. It's easy to get to the onset hotel. After arriving at the Ogoto Onsen JR station, towards the south exit you will find a cell phone attached to a board with explanation how to use the phone to call one of the onsen hotels. After the call, their shuttle bus will then come and pick you up between 2pm to 6pm I think. The hotel staff in general are very welcoming. Our family scored a deal with their penthouse suite with private indoor and outdoor onsen. Four of us stayed in the suite and the price is only slightly more than four of us staying in 2 regular rooms. It also came with a beautiful fruit platter for you to enjoy. The suite is very spacious with 2 separate toilets. The bath area has 2 sinks, a shower stall as well as a japanese style bathing area connected to the 2 onsen baths (indoor one is a hinoki wood tub and the outdoor one is a stone one. The outdoor onsen does have a slight privacy issue as there are some residential buildings in a distance. While my mom was a bit too modest to use the outdoor one (which I am not and fully enjoyed it), she did take full advantage of the indoor private onsen. Of course the hotel also has a public onsen for the guests. In fact they have two. One in each towers. I used the one on the top floor in the morning and it was a bless seeing the sunrise while soaking in the hot onsen water. Our package also included both dinner and breakfast that were served at their private dining room. Both meals were done in kaiseki style. We were particularly impressed by their dinner. Not only was it cooked with high quality ingredients and with beautiful presentation, they did not skimp on the quantity as well. Often after eating dinner at other onsen hotel, I would not feel full and actually felt a bit hungry later at night, at Yumotokan the courses kept coming and I was completely stuffed at the end. In fact I did not finish the rice even though it was so yummy (cooked from scratch in front of us with a flamed mini-stove). All in all, a very satisfactory experience. I can recommend anyone who comes to Kyoto/Osaka and wants an excursion and experiences the traditional Japanese onsen.

旅行会社のPKGプランに掲載されており、大津で一番安かったので宿泊しました。良かった点や気になった点を記載いたします。なお、ホームページなどに掲載されている写真は実際よりもかなり盛れています（笑） ●良かった点 ・湖や駅に近いこと。駅までは徒歩1分と記載ありましたが、実際そのくらいの距離です。びわこ浜大津駅は湖からすぐです。 ・シャワーの出が良かったこと。朝も夜もシャワーを出してすぐに熱いお湯が出て来ました。水量や水圧も問題ありません。 ・オートロックではないこと。最近のホテルでは珍しくオートロックではありません。カギ（カードキーではありません）を外から回して開錠と施錠をします。締め出される可能性が無いので、個人的にはこちらの方が好きでした。 ・喫煙ルームがあったこと。喫煙者なので、喫煙ルームがあるのはかなり助かりました。トリップアドバイザーでは「全室禁煙」と書かれていますが、きちんと喫煙ルームはあります。喫煙者の人たちも安心して宿泊できます。 ●気になった点 ・アメニティが乏しかったこと。シャンプーやコンディショナーは混合のものが1回分だけ用意されていました。翌朝の分が無いので、フロントに連絡したら、フロントまで取りにくれば渡すと言われました。1回分の使い捨てが置かれているホテルは初めてでした。またボディソープは固形石鹸だけです。前の宿泊者との使い回しで、かなり小さくなっていました。 ・ドライヤーが乾かないこと。ドライヤーはよくあるバスルームに備え付けのタイプですが、風圧が弱いのか、なかなか乾きませんでした。 ・エレベータが1機しかなかったこと。エレベータが1機なので、朝のチェックアウト時はなかなかエレベータが来なくて、フロントがある1階まで行くのに時間が掛かりました。 ・近隣にコンビニが1軒もないこと。ホテルの近くにコンビニが無いのはかなり不便でした。 簡単に纏めると以上になります。アメニティ関係は一番びっくりしました。なお、延長コードが必要な方は22番のフロントまでと書かれていたので連絡しました。てっきり部屋まで届けてくれるのかと期待したら、フロントまで取りに来るように言われました（笑） 単に寝るだけと考えている人はアリだと思います。値段も比較的リーズナブルでした。

When visiting Kyoto, we wanted to enjoy some time in an onsen resort so we decided to spend two nights in Ogoto Onsen. After checking the details in their website, we booked a ”Biwa no kaze”room with private onsen and view of Lake Biwako. And we were not disappointed. The room looks newly renovated, and is very spacious with two beds and sitting area plus a tatami room. They offer different dinner packages, and we have chosen crab with steak as the main dishes for the first night, and lobster with shabu-shabu the second night. The foods were of very high quality, tasted and looked very nice. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection of different items. The ryokan is excellent in nearly all aspects. We would stay here again when we next visit Kyoto.
