Absolutely lovely experience! The location is perfect and very central with easy access to central station, Norrmalm and the old town. On the same island as the boat you also have the Modern Museum and the East Asian Antiquities Museum - both worth checking out. Lovely to sleep on the ship, even for a mixed bed room hostel - the showers and bathrooms were plentiful and functional. The breakfast is also totally worth getting as it’s a buffet for 120SEK and will fill you up for several hours. It costs almost 70-80SEK to get a sandwich anywhere else and 50SEK for a coffee so definitely value for money to get the hotel breakfast.

siamo arrivati alle 11 di sera e saremmo scappati subito, purtroppo la reception non è contattabile per segnalare alcuni problemi come il posto lasciato completamente allo sbaraglio, bagni sporchissimi, zero rispetto degli orari cucina e orari silenzio. Abbiamo scritto subito alla reception ma senza alcun successo e abbiamo subito riferito a mezzanotte circa che date le condizioni e la confusione, non avremmo dormito li la seconda notte prenotata in quanto veramente sarebbe stato impossibile. La mattina, dopo la peggiore nottata della nostra vita in cui abbiamo addirittura dovuto dire alla sicurezza di non parlare davanti alla nostra porta alle 5 del mattino, abbiamo riferito tutto alla reception e abbiamo fatto il check-out, il receptionist si è mostrato dispiaciuto e ha detto che avevano questo gruppo di spagnoli e sapevano che avrebbero fatto confusione. Ci ha tranquillizzati e ha detto che avrebbe parlato con il manager per concederci il rimborso della seconda notte non fruita. Abbiamo segnalato anche la cosa a booking. Dopo poco il manager ci ha scritto che non avrebbe fatto alcun rimborso perché sono le cose che accadono in un ostello. Ho viaggiato in tantissimi ostelli di Europa e anche in Svezia un paio di volte ed è la prima volta che devo andare via per non affrontare una nottata in bianco. Per riassumere: Posto angusto e scuro, posizionato sopra una scuola spifferi dalle finestre Pulizia non buona Orari reception e orari di silenzio non rispettati Reception non contattabile Camere non insonorizzate Puzza di cucinato fino a dentro le camere Lenzuola sporche di ruggine Camera non pulita, abbiamo trovato addirittura delle carte sotto i mobili. Più di tutto è impossibile dormire in quanto tutta la notte sbattono porte ed arriva il ****** dalla cucina e dagli spazi comuni o dalla gente che parla in corridoio. In tutto sono 10 camere con 3 bagni.

BEDBUGS! To start with, we are aware this is not a 5 stars hotel and our expectations were not high. The breakfast was not the best but decent, the local staff a little unkind and rough, the shower curtain smelled bad. However, the real problem were bedbugs and the attitude of the staff after it was reported. We noticed insects in the room (we didn’t know at the time what it was) and I ended up being severely bitten. I reported this to the hotel by e-mail after I learnt what it is and after being examined by the doctor. I wanted to make sure they do something about that but they immediately replied there’s no way there are bedbugs in the hotel. Searching for bedbugs should take at least 1 hour (the insects hide) so there is no chance somebody even went to the room to check. I need to use ointment with antibiotics and do disinsection of my apartment in case I transferred bugs from that hotel. It is a costly and unpleasant process and the hotel’s attitude is unacceptable. I went through other comments on booking and we are not the first ones to report that. The personnel’s response is the same, though.

We stayed in the hostel for one night with our three teenage sons en route to Nörrkoping and were very impressed with how clean and organised it was. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and the kitchen was well equipped if you wanted to cook. We were glad to be able to access a washing machine. The neighbouring park is lovely and there is easy access to the metro if you want to go into town. We especially appreciated pretty the garden of this hostel and its eco credentials. A nice place to stay!
