Treetops

My family and I visited for a 1 night stay. Positives: Friendly staff Welcomed renovations Easy checkin Hot water bottles at night Beautiful animals and scenery Room for Improvement: Booking process (no phone number on website, email on website doesn't work, had to reaout via Instagram to get valid details, took 2 weeks for payment confirmation to come through and still waiting on ETR receipt) Food variety (lack of vegetarian options, no dessert, took ages for coffee and tea to be set out) Bar variety (no wine) Blankets for viewing deck (it gets very cold) Shower either scalding hot or freezing cold (new mixers needed) No kettle in room for hot water No hair dryer While the old charm of treetops remains, the excitement of reopening seems premature. Lots of potential with a bit more attention to the finer details (especially at the price point being charged). Last visit was in 2014 under old ownership. Experience was comparable 10 years later.

Was at Treetops Aberdares in August 2024 and its beautiful, very good and helpful staff from the reception all the way to housekeeping. Very clean, good food, lots of history and beautiful view. We got to see many Hyenas, Elephants, Bushbucks, Waterbucks, Warthogs and Baboons. It was very cold but they provided hot water bottles at night. We stayed for one night and would definately come back.
