Although the hotel didn't quite surpass my expectations, it still provided a decent experience overall. The accommodations were comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. While it may not have had standout features, it offered all the essential amenities one would expect. Therefore, I would rate it a respectable 6 out of 10. While it didn't leave a lasting impression, it served as a satisfactory choice for a pleasant stay.

Five-Star Hotel in Addis Ababa (Finfinne) with Poor Service This hotel used to be one of the best in terms of hospitality and service. However, recently, the quality of service has significantly declined. Employee motivation seems to be almost non-existent, and no one checks in with guests. We used one of their rooms for a workshop, which was poorly ventilated, cramped, and hot, while another room near the swimming pool was noisy. No one asked if we needed anything. Despite requesting coffee four times, I never received it. There was no clear person in charge of managing customer complaints, and overall, I received below-average service.

This hotel is well located, near to bole international airport. Rooms are spacious & clean. Rates are competitive. Beds are comfortable and rooms are cleaned every day. Free and good strength wifi in rooms. Staff is very courageous nature. This is my 3rd stay and each stay is very comfortable. I will continue to use this hotel for my future trip to Addis Ababa.

Excellent service and good staff, it is an average hotel but with kind-hearted people doing a great job. The hotel is in between tow busy roads and connects well to them. the Area is very good and the hotel has a very good club called AV club which is great for evening entertainment.

The customer service was very poor. There was black mold growing above my shower. Overall this hotel presents a nice front but when you get beyond the facade of nicety you find a slum lord mentality. It is true that when you make a customer happy they probably won't say anything but when you treat them poorly they will tell the world... Well that is true here. I had a legitimate complaint and was told there was no managers on duty that could address it. Out of trying to solve my issue the front desk apparently called the ”owners son” who was to be consulted in case of no managers being available. He offered to give me ”free services” next time I came to the hotel knowing full well I was about to fly out and would not be back. I had asked for at least a partial refund or some kind of compensation which he refused.

PPengguna TetamuKefetew Guest House was our landing point for two days after arriving Ethiopia. Genet is a well-seasoned host, having lived and managed restaurants extensively in the U.S. before returning to her country of birth after the death of her father. As we were traveling with our two teeen daughters, we were covering a family room in the first floor. The room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was excellent with ample of hot water. What sets this guesthouse apart, however, is the quality of food. Genet and her kitchen crew manage the perfect fusion between traditional Ethiopian food and dishes that are more easy to the Western palate. As traditional food is healthy and tasty, you will get used to it very fast, but if you travel with children, Genet's kitchen is a very good starting point from a culinary perspective. I would also like to remark that we left two suitcases at Genet's house for a charity to pick up in the following days. Not only was this not a problem to Genet - she even gave us an update once the goods were collected. Kefetew Guest House is located at CMC road, which is quite a busy road leading to the airport. At night however, the neighbourhood is quiet. You might however get an early wake-up call by the muezzin of a mosque situated nearby. To us, this was not a disturbance, as we considered this an exotic increase of our vacation experience. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - We would like to add the following general observations which we found helpful at the time of our travelling through Ethiopia (April and May 2023). These observations are not related to above review, but should considered as additional input for readers considering to travel to and in Ethiopia: 1. At the time of this writing, Ethiopia still suffered from the consequences of two years of Covid and 16 months of civil war. Tourists were still scarce, therefore we were both regarded as a source of potential business and as a welcome change in perspective. The Ethiopians we met were friendly, open and curious. We responded friendly and open ourselves, but remained firm when things got too overwhelming. 2. The majority of Ethiopians are orthodox Christians with a minority of Muslims. Although people are tolerant and friendly, they take their religion seriously. When visiting churches and mosques, the tried to treat these institutions with utmost respect and dignity, also with our dress attire (no tank tops please). If visiting a church on Sunday, we would recommend buying a white shawl to cover shoulders and (women) head, they cost almost nothing, make a good souvenir and earn you the respect of other churchgoers. Most of the churches have guides eager to explain paintings and structures - and bear in mind: If a curtain is covering an entrance or a painting, it is there for a reason and not as an invitation to boldly go where no tourist went b

Very homely people and the staff is really good and very cooperative for foreigners, especially I would like to recommend the service by David David bar supervisor- the bar supervisor and Teddy, okay. Miki is very good person in serving the best cocktails in the world. I enjoyed, and I had a great time as they made me feel at home.

Compared to many four - and five-star hotels I stayed at in Addis Ababa, I would rank Cassiopeia top on my list when it comes to comfort, most amazingly friendly staff, and the overall environment. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. If there is any issue, just call the front desk. You will be surprised by the speed they take care of things. Above everything else, their politeness is amazing. I have to express my special thanks to the manager, Alaye. He is the most humble and friendly person. The breakfast buffet is also excellent. If you prefer something else, just tell the staff at the kitchen and they will gladly get it for you. The chef is another amazing and pleasant person, and he always offers to make you omelets. And when you say yes, his face brightens with happiness. Note that there is no swimming pool or spa. However, there is a small gym on the sixth floor, with well planned machines, and I used it almost on a daily basis. Thank you all for making my stay comfortable and memorable.

This hotel is a hidden gem; but not for long. We throughly enjoyed our stay and experienced a wonderful staff, clean modern room, and convenient location. We absolutely recommend this to any traveler. Keep up the great work Hayes Hotel.

We decided to stop over in Addis Ababa for a couple of days on our trip to Africa. It turned out to be the best choice that we could make. The hotel is literally walking distance from the airport and a shuttle service was provided to bring us over. Once we got there, the hospitality was absolutely amazing! Everyone was so personable and friendly. The first night, we ate at the Ethiopian restaurant, Te’ma, and enjoyed a fantastic traditional meal. For breakfast, we came over to The African Hub Restaurant. We were just blown away by the selection, service and sumptuous spread. This was easily one of the best breakfast buffets that we have had; and we have gotten used to dining at some of the very best. It is hard to single out any one person for their efforts because everyone was so hard at work with the most awesome dispositions, but Alemnew served us and ensured that our every need was met. If visiting Ethiopia is not already on your bucket list, consider adding it. Please come to the Skylight Hotel.

IirisemataI stayed in Hotel Lobelia for a total of 5 nights during 3 separate times in July. The hotel is conveniently located, just a 10min drive from Bole international airport, & a free hotel airport shuttle is provided. This was perfect for me as I had to fly in & out of Addis Ababa a couple of times as I traveled around Ethiopia. Besides being close to the airport, the hotel is also very close to many other establishments, such as restaurants, cafes, shops, mall, etc. There is also an ATM just outside the hotel lobby so this was extra convenient. The 3 different rooms I stayed in during my 3 separate stays were all spacious, satisfactory, & clean. The bed was quite comfortable, & the wifi worked well in the room. There was also a separate seating area. A menu for the restaurant, as well as all the services offered by the hotel are also conveniently provided on the desk in the room. The bathrooms are quite small, however, and can use some upgrades, but overall it was fine, and the hot water shower was great. On one of my stays, I did end up getting upgraded to one of the suites, which was a very big room with a very big bathroom. They serve a buffet breakfast which typically included traditional Ethiopian dishes, and sometimes eggs & pancakes, in addition to toast, fruits, juices, coffee, & tea. Besides breakfast, food is available all day at their restaurant, as well as room service. The food at the restaurant is quite good so I did eat here a couple of times. Laundry service was also good – I dropped it off just before 8:30am & got it back just after lunch. They also have luggage storage, which I used to store my big backpack, while I traveled to other parts of Ethiopia with just a small backpack. The overall service is really good here; plus, all the staff, from the reception to the restaurant to the shuttle service, are really nice, friendly, & accommodating. There was always someone to answer any questions and provide any assistance needed, which I really appreciated. This hotel is definitely good value for a short stay in Addis Ababa with easy access to the airport.

The breathtaking view was an unexpected delight. The hotel's amenities, including the spa and gem. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was memorable. I can't wait to return and experience the exceptional service once again.

Employees communicate harshly and irresponsibly. - transfer from the airport was not provided, although I wrote to them in the comments to the booking, on the website, by email, on the WhatsApp phone number provided. They didn’t meet me, I took a taxi at my own expense and they simply said “sorry.” - they demand payment ONLY in dollars, and they want to give change in birr, under the pretext “we have an official exchange rate.” But under the pretext of “take birr at the official rate,” they refuse to white people. One of the employees said “you should pay in dollars and take change in birr to help our country.” - there was no hot water in the room, they tried to fix it for an hour before moving me to another room. I spent half a day waiting. - cockroaches. - water is leaking from the shower - I asked for a transfer to the airport, because they didn’t meet me, they said “sorry, the transfer is only for international flights. Sorry again that we didn’t meet you.” - I paid for the last day, but since the plane was delayed, I didn’t stop. They refused to return the money, because “everything is already in the system,” but they also refused to provide a RECEIPT! Blatant lie, everything goes into your pocket! At least give me a receipt and pay your taxes! Or for the sake of a good relationship, you can return the money! Guys, I'm sorry to leave a bad review.
