Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay

It was a very pleasant stay in an excellent hotel. Great hospitality, unbelievable servise and what a location. People working at the hotel were excellent and Mrs Olga unbelievable as hostess. I will recommend this hotel without any problem to everyone who wants to spend soem days in the sun.

While the staff try their best, this hotel is a mess. Service is abysmal and the simplest of requests (a cup of decaffeinated coffee) was too complex to compete. The food service is manic, you are rushed through your meal with unfinished food being taken from the table while you’re still eating. The buffet is often labelled incorrectly making it totally unsafe for any restricted diets. A big deal is made of “any dietary requests… just ask to speak with our chef” I did so on four occasions & even left my contact details but no one responded. It’s an empty offer. There are plenty of “vegetarian dishes” that contain meat because the ingredients are not labelled in all languages. The beaches are dirty, littered with cigarette butts, used tissue. It’s such a shame as there are a few beach staff who are clearly working so hard. We got chatting to one of the young waiters who described his 14 hr shift as “quite normal”. Another lovely waiter we came across who was quite visibly exhausted, had resorted to drinking alcohol on his shift. I wouldn’t blame him to be honest, poor guy. He was wasted. Room service… not even sure what to write. I repeatedly asked for some face cloths every day and gave up on day 6. I’d even googled photos to show what I was asking for. The language barrier is a big issue throughout the complex. The rooms were average, they were not thoroughly cleaned every day. The last thing you want to do on holiday is to complain, right? But after continually cold (that should be hot) buffet food, hair in food & no service I had to. We were given a complimentary meal in one of the restaurants (all food throughout the complex comes from the same kitchen, and tastes the same). We waited 45 min to order. A further 55 min for the food to arrive. It was cold. We had to resort to eating outside of the hotel because of such poor quality food. I so wish I’d known this before paying for all inclusive. Complete waste of money. In all, the trip was booked in order to get some rest and it did the opposite. If you’re reading this review and are just about to book, I know the photos look great & there are lots of positive comments… but just don’t do it. In case of any template response from management: yes, I did contact the hotel multiple times with my concerns. I also contacted my travel operator who mentioned they have received similar feedback on this location.

We just returned from a week at the Wyndham Mirabello. Everything was amazing! Staff were super friendly, delicious food, great cocktails and perfect beach weather! Beautiful room fit out, super comfy bed. This was my second visit and we will be back! ＜3

This is most definitely not a 5 star hotel unless you want to experience the following I would avoid!!!!!! Food service is the same every day, no variety. Really bad quality meats and poor hygiene standards. We got vomiting and diarrhoea after 2 days of eating there. They also forget to tel you is not completely all inclusive, you have to pay for coffee pods for the machine in the rooms if you want coffee!! And gwt one complement meal from one there on site restaurants!! Most of the staff are miserable and rude, making you feel like your being a massive burdon asking for drinks ect. Rooms where very small, the beds where awful. The 5 star service involved them making your bed and emptying a bin, no replacement of shower gel ect. Overall a very poor experience, certainly not comparable to other 5 star hotel experience. On a positive there is a brilliant shop opposite the hotel that you can get all the necessary ***** to survive food poisoning. There is also lots of lovely places to eat when you are unable to stomach the food at this hotel.

Everything was lovely at this hotel, the welcome from the moment of arrival was so friendly and the guy at the front of the hotel greeted everyone every single day, he was a delight. The bags were both driven to the room and picked up when we asked with a smile. We were lucky enough to get a complimentary upgrade, the room was in the newer part of the hotel across the road, it was clean and a lovely room with a view of the bay. The pool this side was also lovely and quiet. The beach was fabulous with very comfortable sunbeds and bars either end, as well as sunbed drinks service. The beds fill quickly in the morning but people do clear off after lunch so nothing seemed reserved all day. The swimming was so pleasant and it was super quiet and relaxing. The food was very good overall, we did the a la carte at the grill on the beach which was delicious. The buffet cold section was incredibly well stocked, I think the hot selection could have perhaps had a few more protein options, as many were just rice/potatoes/fried goods etc. Also perhaps could have utilised the fresh cooking more. The desserts were delcioius would just have been nice too have a menu og what they were. However it was a minor improvement. The young staff here were lovely, strangely the most unfriendly member of staff we encountered the whole trip was the resteraunt manager. Who forced us to move to a smaller table as a party of the despite the whole place being empty, to then let the table be filled later by just two people. The pools again were clean and pleasant, the swim up bar was a nice touch but we spent most our time at the beach. The reception staff were very quick and efficient on check in and check out. So no complaints there. We will definetly return.

Great hotel and lovely area. Well located to local town. Good range of activities to do. We went in September and enjoyed fantastic weather everyday. I’d highly recommend the only down side was restaurant manager not being pleasant or supportive to his hard working and brilliant staff.

If you require some well-deserved all-inclusive relaxation in the sun, surrounded by a range of facilities and good food, then this hotel will entirely meet your needs. We stayed for nine days in October 2023. We enjoyed a bungalow junior suite in the “village”, the newer part of the hotel, with a spacious and well-furnished room offering great sea views from a large balcony. Many nights of comfortable and restful sleep were had here. The buffet food offering was of a great standard. Plentiful, fresh, tasty with lots of choice and a daily variation of Greek and international cuisines - you’re unlikely to go hungry. You can’t ask for more. The facilities can only be described as nothing short of excellent. Two large pools, a swim-up bar; and, thankfully, no sun-lounger wars (that we observed in the late season, anyway). Two beaches, the further one more peaceful, with crystal clear water and watersports on offer too. And, as and my wife reports: “one of the best massages“ she’s ever had. Some evening entertainment and an open-air cinema are also enjoyable ways to spend an evening. Sounds like 5 star quality, right? Hmm, not quite. Here’s why. The term “all inclusive” is slightly stretched here. The hotel is proud to boast its three a-la-carte restaurants, in addition to the main buffet, yet they are less quick to tell you “all inclusive” only includes one a-la-carte meal throughout your entire stay. When taking your pick, we’d recommend the “Bay & Grill” on the beach: simply delicious! Furthermore and somewhat surprisingly - drinks are charged from 11pm, which may disrupt your planned late-night tipple. The housekeeping schedule was interesting, to say the least. Our room was left uncleaned on a few occasions, only resulting in multiple calls and visits to reception to self-collect new towels. Not exactly 5 star service. And, the waiting staff, whilst friendly and hardworking, were clearly overstretched in the buffet restaurant - so you’ll probably only be offered drinks at your table just the once. Perhaps the (assumed) restaurant manager could help his colleagues, rather than regularly sitting idle on a stool in the middle of the restaurant. Not exactly professional. The final nail in the 5 star coffin came on our last day. It’s not unreasonable to expect a 5 star hotel to have available changing and shower facilities for those departing in the evening. That they do, apparently. Oh, but a specific time slot needs to be pre-booked in advance and availability is very limited. An alternative is €150 for a late checkout. No, thanks. Overall, if you’re expecting a 5 star hotel and have paid full price for the privilege: you’ll probably be slightly disappointed. Or, if like us, you got a heavily discounted deal through Voyage Prive or another provider, you’ll be happy to put aside these few ******* and enjoy a perfectly pleasant stay in a hotel of a 4 star standard. We visited the hotel over October Half term and absolutely loved it. We were upgraded to a 2bed villa with private pool on arrival , which was great for our family of 4 - the pool was nice but cold - we didn't use it much as we were at the beach most of the time and only in the room to get ready for dinner and sleep! All of the Staff were so helpful and friendly. We did try and arrange a trip to the waterpark, the hotel didn't seem to know the waterpark puts on a bus that picks up from the hotel - so there was a bit of confusion , but we managed to sort it out ourself. The food was standard buffet so there will always be cold bits - but it was better than we have experienced anywhere in the past, and if you hang on normally they are bringing fresh food out that's hot so cold food is avoidable. The restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful - 5 stars to them for sure! The Private beach is amazing, safe calm waters - we took our own paddle board and even our 8 year old could safely paddle out alone . Being end of season the hotel wasn't too busy - there was ample sunbeds available - and a limited all inclusive drinks service right to your sunbed (although I didn't mind wandering over to get a drink!) There were so many lovely areas to sit and enjoy a drink , The bar at the beach could have benefited from having some sort of sport activity available to keep older kids entertained in the evening and off their phones! (pool table or table tennis) as there is plenty of space and probably would have encouraged kids to make friends. (we played plenty of games as a family - but 10nights of this does end up rather dull for the kids!) The entertainment never began until 9-930pm so there was often time to fill after dinner. My biggest issue was the lack of available information - the outdoor cinema looked lovely - but you never knew what film or even language the film was in until you ventured over - it would be useful to display this somewhere each day, even reception staff weren't sure. I didn't even find the hotel notice board until half way through the week as it was by the restaurant and I had been using a different door. There were questionable 5 star elements - but overall We had an amazing time here and would absolutely return (although looks like next years prices have increased so not sure we can afford it!)

We loved everything about this destination. It is in a fantastic position in its own bay. It is beautiful. There is so much choice - beach and pools. No struggles to find a sun bed. There are lots of beautiful outdoor spaces to sit in/relax in, including the gardens, outdoor cinema area and entertainment spaces. The food was fantastic, so much choice, something for everyone. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. Fantastic views - a little piece of heaven! Entertainment available every night or quiet bars to relax in. We stayed in the bungalows. The rooms were lovely. We had a Mountain View rather that a Pool View but still nice for the sunset. The only moan is we had a room for 3 adults and an adult cannot sleep comfortably on the sofa chair. They did replace this eventually with a camp bed. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to others.
