I cannot express enough how amazing our family vacation was. Everything at this place is excellent. The staff / team is the most friendliest, caring and most professional we have ever had the pleasure to meet. The whole place is magic, the rooms, the beach, the spa, the treatments, the restaurants and bars and last but not least the pools. What a fabulous 9 days ,we have had,this is our last morning enjoying a coffee with the amazing view of Spinalonga and a very talented pianist playing in the background ,just perfect. The food has been excellent, so much choice in Thalos,with adult area if you want it. We chose outside all the time as the weather has been beautiful. Topos seafood restaurant was amazing ! Our room and pool private pool were well looked after by the wonderful Maria and Mailinda, thank you ladies. Restaurant staff couldn't do enough for us. Sofoklis, made sure we were looked after at breakfast and in the evening . The ladies who booked us in always smiling and very helpful . The young man ,working tirelessly in the Dome bar in the evenings. However our biggest thanks goes to the amazing ,kind, helpful Christina . Breakfast and at the adult pool an absolute star,thank-you Christina , you are an asset to the Domes. Out and about, Plaka and Elounda are both walkable ,or bus or taxi . A little further to Agios Nikolas, again bus or taxi if no car. Bus stop right outside the hotel Those morning sunrises,amazing . Great holiday, so relaxing .

Returned to this wonderful hotel for a third time and so pleased we did. The resort is really spread out and it takes a while to walk from one side to the other which I didn’t mind at all and it meant it felt more spacious and not overcrowded, club cars were available to take you back and forth however the resort isn’t particularly well suited to those that can’t manage hills and steps without relying on the buggies. The accommodation is excellent we love the private residence villas which have plenty of space and your own large infinity pool with stunning views. The washing machine makes life easier and the kitchen facilities would be great for those with young kids. We have stayed in the other part of the resort where rooms have private hot tubs and pools again all with amazing views. Food options included a main buffet of excellent quality with themed nights, an a la carte Peruvian fusion restaurant which we loved and outside area called core that offered street food. Lunch time there was seafood beach spot, plus there was the usual pool side lunch time snacks available and the pool restaurant did lunches too. The food was all excellent with lots of choice. During the day there was the haute living area included with some of the accommodation and for us it was well worth it to be able to go and grab a drink or snack when we wanted then on a night you could get an Aperol Spritz G&T etc before dinner in a lovely sunny spot. Hotels facilities include a spa, an outdoor gym with the most amazing views, teen area with games and pool table. kids club and a lovely beach with shallow water. Water sports were available nearby but at extra cost but very reasonable and my daughter did a few different activities there. The hotel also had an adult only pool and adult only area in the buffet but if I’m being honest you could still hear children nearby so maybe not for you if you wanted a peaceful meal or eat later as at 8pm it was a lot more chilled. The hotel is very popular with young families due to the facilities available for them. As we were there it was half term iso lots of school age children but as we were leaving all the little ones were arriving. If you prefer nightly evening entertainment in the hotel then this place isn’t really for you as it’s very low key however we did enjoy some music and Greek dancing. Nearby you have a choice or Elounda and Plaka both offering cafes, restaurants and bars as well as shops and mini markets. The staff are what make the place special the team are all super professional, friendly and helpful. The restaurant teams do fantastic job as sometimes it’s very busy when lots of people arrive together. We probably spent the most time at Blend as it was convenient for us and we loved the new fusion menu and they were more than happy to accommodate my child’s pasta requests. We recently visited Domes of Elounda for the second time, just after they opened for the season in May. Although not all the restaurants were fully open yet, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we could possibly want and more. We've been fortunate to travel to many places, but in terms of service and attention to detail, I don't think anywhere will top this experience. A special mention must go to the wonderful Stella and her team, who made our stay truly exceptional. We cannot wait to come back again - we miss it already.

Where to start... This is a 5 Star Resort - it is not inexpensive. The facilities are lovely The ambiance is cool & relaxed The bar is beautiful The pool area is very well appointed The Sushi bar serves really good food and great service. Manolis takes care of you. The regular buffet restaurant serves good meals inc. breakfast in pleasant enough surroundings. The private beach and bar / cantina are excellent 👌 - Nico's the Barman is great. That's the good. Less than perfect: The room we had (sea view) was pretty small - but well appointed and well serviced. This is all inclusive - but you will have to fight for every alcoholic beverage you manage to get usually one Barman and one waitress serving 50+ guests - they are very diligent, but if they serve a drink per minute - it's an hour between drinks - and they don't manage that many because the Barman is making mainly cocktails... Try one drink every 2 hours at best. Or you take matters into your own hands and queue at the bar for 30mins minimum. Soft drinks, water and draught beer are available when stocked - which is 50% of the time. Guests were getting a taxi in to town, sourcing their own spirits, coming back and drinking in their cramped rooms, rather than wait for the over stretched Staff.... If you are vegan / vegetarian / dairy intolerant your choices are extremely limited. One line to sum up, would be: great location, spoiled by a lack of Staff.

My wife and I recently completed a trip to both Santorini and Crete. We are fortunate to travel a great deal and stay with Marriott most often. We are Lifetime Platinum Elite for reference. Our stay at the Domes Of Elounda was average at best and for the cost I would not recommend it. When we arrived by car it was very unclear where to park, where was the reception area etc. We randomly parked our car in what turned out to be the "valet" area and then found our way inside to reception. Then we were checked in an taken to our room. (Pro tip) If you don't like stairs, don't stay here. Once in our room the person asked where our bags were. We explained that no one had greeted us so they were in our car and that I had the keys. So back down the hill I went with him to show him which car was ours and what bags needed to be taken up. Rough start. Breakfast was fine, nothing special and the room was a zoo filled with families. We stayed for two nights and while there was an adult section, my wife and I were never offered a seat in that section instead we were seated basically in the middle of the room in the most chaotic spots both mornings. In addition it appeared that the staff had favorites and when some guests came in they were asked if they wanted to sit outside, near the window or in the adult section. We were offered none of those options. Then to cap it all off, when checking out after breakfast I went to the front desk and asked for someone to come and grab our bags and clarified they are ready to go! ( Believe me this is not a place you want to hump your bags to and from the room unless you are a sherpa from Everest. After 25 minutes and after my wife had gone to the lobby to officially checked out she asked if someone was going to grab our bags, she got an "of course they are on there way" but it was clear someone had forgotten and so 10 minutes later someone came by to take them down to the car. All in all this hotel needs a lesson in customer service, and better signage at check-in. If you are a family, maybe this would work for you, but as a couple I would steer clear. One last note, since we travel a great deal, and my wife loves avocados she often asks if it is possible to get one in the morning with her breakfast. Of the last 10 hotels we have stayed in 9 of 10, even when not on the menu, produced an avocado, but not this one. The staff member just looked at her and said no, not possible. If this resort didn't have avocados in their kitchen, I'll eat my suitcase. Very disappointing over all.

The location is phenomenal, and the hotel from initial impressions is wonderful, but you must bring grippy shoes as the accommodation is nestled on a hill. The rooms are small, well furnished with quality beds, bedding and towels. We received some lovely touches on arrival, a welcome drink, biscuits and wine in our room, tea and coffee facilities . We ve experienced a less than 5 star treatment when it comes to the all inclusive piece; The Dones hotel has three restaurants, two require a booking, which is simple to do on the web are scanning a QR code. The Yellow Sea sushi bar is a top quality 5 star restaurant with attentive staff, fantastic delicious sushi and well worth the tip we left, the amphitheater is a pizza or kebab restaurant, which is far from 5 star, doesn’t t even match the mediocre kebab shop where we live, the staff here are a little over worked, and far from attentive! I have a lactose intolerance, so I asked for a no cheese pizza with salami and bacon, and a salad, a bacon pizza arrived the rest forgotten! Tonight we ve been out for 3 hours for dinner and we ve had a tiny amount of wine ( less than half a bottle) and one mojito, I m not even the slightest jolly, but disappointed! The hotel was selected to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday, this five star location won because of the unlimited cocktails , unfortunately FAKE marketing, they are unlimited but one person has to serve at least 50 people! So even the most efficient individuals would not be able to achieve this! It’s set up to fail from the off! IThe worst location is the blu bar, here you can wait up to an hour to an hour and a half, the staff are overworked and miserable, We worked out that the 49 guests had one waitress serving them, meaning that the poor girl had 1.5 minutes to serve one person every hour! No wonder you can t get a drink! In summary fabulous location, quality finish in rooms although small, good and drink needs some improvement, beach bar awesome! , but it’s not all 5 star, some service elements are 3 star
