Very highly recommend a stay at the unique Fort Barli. It's a truly amazing place run by very special people. Being the only guests we had the whole Fort to ourselves and were treated to an incredible Royal Dinner in the most magnificent setting. We took the bullock cart safari (recommended), had tea in the Hindu temple and ***aged some relaxation in the sunshine by the pool. A very different and relaxing stay but our one mistake - we only stayed one night. It's definitely worth changing plans and staying longer.

Very friendly hosts with interesting background of the family home to hotel. Enjoyed the tour around the building and grounds and learning about its history. Large Bedrooms were clean, with gorgeous bedding. Room watching the building progress for the planned Spa. The bullock ride fun and interesting giving life of the locals in the village. Pool area had a good view and pleasant surroundings. The water was a Bit cold in November.

A wonderful place to stay, we only had one night there on our tour of India but wish we’d have had more time there. The approach is through a local village and you do wonder where you are going, but Fort Barli is an oasis. All the local villagers are extremely friendly and happy, waving and shouting hello as you pass by. The hotel itself is beautiful and the family and staff are wonderful. I can recommend taking the tour of the fort, very interesting, and you can get some wonderful photos of the sunsetting from the top of the fort too. The food was superb, all freshly prepared and very tasty. Full of history, character and extremely comfortable, highly recommend.

A fabulous hotel in the beautiful setting of an ancient fort. The suite was clean, spacious and comfortable with everything I needed for a relaxing stay, which was perfect after a busy few days in the city. The staff and owners were so welcoming and friendly.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect here but this was a brilliant stay in a fabulous place. Rooms, food and service were excellent and I would return in a heartbeat. The fort itself was well worth exploring and we enjoyed the tour of the village too.

We had a great stay at Fort Barli. The hotel is formerly a family home and full of character and history. Nitya (the owner) was incredibly hospitable - my wife had her birthday there and they organised a very special dinner in the beautiful maharani rooms. Kesar was also extremely helpful and friendly - he took us on a walking tour of his village. An experience we won't forget.

Beautiful hotel and such a welcome treat to sleep in a stunning room and made to feel so at home! Delicious food and and wonderful to meet some members of the family whom were perfect hosts! We all wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much..we highly recommend.

What an incredible place to stay. We had the mother in law’s apar**ent with cosy seating areas overlooking fields and the village. We had our own patio, swing seat, table and chairs. All very comfortable. There is a short walk to the fort entrance, which opens onto a large area with outdoor seating and a cosy covered seating area. There is a small pool with sun beds for relaxing. Excellent food in the restaurant. We also had a bullock ride and tour of the little village. Great fun. The most endearing part was the welcome and attention that our hostess Nityarsi gave us. She checked on us at mealtimes and chatted to us about the history of the fort. This beautiful young lady will make a great success of this fort. Check out her wedding albums in reception.
