Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat

The detail put into every corner, the social environment, the beauty of the landscape are incomparably perfect. We had a ton of fun, and it even rained one day. I wouldn’t change a thing. A lovely retreat. Little internet, sounds of nature with luxury at its best. A perfect wedding location, friend getaway, and intimate getaway. Have already spread the word as a must go!!!

We went to Whispering Springs for a wedding in August 2023. We stayed at the Scuttlebutt Lodge a very lovely, neat, tidy and clean cabin. As an added bonus this cabin is private close to the parking with only one neighbouring tent. The wedding was absolutely perfect with amazing ambience, food and dancing. The morning after we had a lovely relaxing swim at the pool. 10/10 we definitely would love to come back.

My husband and I went to whispering springs last weekend for our anniversary. It was beyond what we ever expected. What an incredible experience. The staff were amazing , the amenities were outstanding and we had the most incredible time. We want to make it an annual trip for our anniversary going forward. I cannot recommend this place enough !! Thank you for the beautiful stay.

Surprised my husband with a mid week getaway for our anniversary and it couldn't have been more perfect. Everything was perfection, from the check in tent and fabulous staff, to our Canadiana tent which was unbelievably perfect, the pool, the watering hole for a little cocktail, some smores and fun conversation with guests, the incredible hiking, beautiful forest chapel, and a fabulous breakfast delivered to our tent. Planning the next getaway already!

Got married at this magical place so came back for our wedding anniversary! Staff are incredible, place feels like a second home and its incredibly relaxing & beautiful, the perfect weekend getaway without it being too far out the city. We went thinking we’d enjoy some quality time for our anniversary, but ended up sitting by the fire and enjoying our anniversary with other couples celebrating their anniversaries as well. This will be a new tradition for us! It was unexpected but an unforgettable anniversary. Retreat is a perfect balance of chill & things to do.

As usual, our stay at WS was amazing. Everything is so well organized and put together. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the tents are such an experience. They had live music during our stay this time which was great, and the pizzas they have as well are also great! The staff is always exceptional in their service. I am sure we will be back many more times. Truly a beautiful and great escape :)

My girlfriend and I attended our good friend's wedding here on 07/16 and we stayed in the treetop Indigo tent. Being elevated, the bugs were non-existent! Having our own private sink and toilet in our tent was a great perk and the private hot tub for the 3 treetop tents was a great luxury as well. Staff was friendly, attentive and the room was prepared perfectly. Book this tent for a great romantic getaway and hope you get lucky with great weather like we did! There is little to no cellphone service, so embrace it and take advantage of the ability to 'disconnect'. My only knock is that the breakfast basket wasn't delivered until 10am the following morning. If that's my only complaint while staying in the woods then Whispering Springs is doing it right!

So dreamy and wonderful! My mother in law bought us a gift card for one night at whispering springs and it was amazing! Booking was easy, I reached out to a staff member via email and they set everything up for me. When we got there, the staff were so lovely. They gave us a little tour of the facilities and let us know when the amenities opened/closed, etc… we found our tent and it was stunning inside. Rustic but also luxurious at the same time. There was a private grill and fire pit that came with everything you need to have a glam camping experience. Running water, even a bathtub inside the tent, made this over the top. We loved hanging out by the pool, we didn’t get a chance to use the pond but we did go for a walk around the resort and checked out the serene beauty of it all. We loved the main watering hole area with the beautiful seating overlooking the pool. The staff were amazing, always making sure everything was perfect for us. I wish check-in was a bit earlier or checkout was later so we can use more of the amenities as one night gives you less than 24 hours to enjoy however we absolutely fell in love with this place and can’t wait to return!

We were so excited to have our wedding at Whispering Springs as it was our dream location. However, after spending $12,000 just for the venue (in addition to all accommodations being paid for), our experience with staff was incredibly disappointing. Many of our guests reported overhearing staff gossiping about our wedding party/timeline, complaining about shuttling us through the grounds to other vendors, and talking poorly about our wedding planner. Our planner reached out to the venue coordinator since our event to discuss these concerns, however, emails have not been responded to. To top it off, after discussing with the venue that one of our guests (a child) needing accessibility accommodations, the ramps (that the venue states they have) were not put out because they ‘decided’ one point of access to the reception area would suffice. Oh, and it wasn’t until after the event that we were made aware only 2 tents (out of 20+) have accessibility ramps. Coincidently, after expressing our upset about the venue not being inclusive/accommodating, Whispering Springs offered us a free night and announced they are hosting a ‘camp for children with disabilities’. Did I mention that multiple staff members referred to people with mobility needs as having ‘issues’? After our poor experience, we sure hope Whispering Springs educates their staff on inclusivity, ensures the grounds (and tents) are accessible, and they hire people with professionalism moving forward.
