Our whole experience was bad from start to finish. We had pre-booked our stay and at check-in were treated with derision seemingly because we had reserved through a third party company. When we were told we had a room with a king bed I asked if we could have multiple beds, as we were an adult child and parent, and were told they were fully booked and had no other rooms. Not a big deal, but the whole interaction was just very cool. The person checking in ahead of us and beside us were offered bottled water and cookies, but not us. Our room was very run down (see pictures) with warped water damaged floors, holes in the wall, sticky floors, a disgusting drain in the middle of the bathroom floor, yellow stains on the shower curtain - just overall grimy. It was also an adjoining room, so you could hear every word of the occupants in the other room. This proved to be troublesome when at midnight an alarm started going off in the adjoining room. After 15 minutes I called the front desk, explaining the situation and was again met with indifference. The response I got was ”uh huh”. ??? I then had to specifically ask him to assist with the issue. Like why else would I be calling? He called me back a few minutes later to tell me the people were not in the hotel but were coming back. When I asked if I knew how long that would be I got a snotty response that he had no control over how long that would be. Again I realize that but really, wouldn't that be something one would naturally ask? In the end the alarm continued until nearly 1 am. Surely the hotel could have entered and turned off the alarm, but I didn't dare ask! As a Hilton Honors member I have always enjoyed staying at a Doubletree, but this hotel has experience has left me disappointed and wary of staying at another one.
