Hotel berhampiran EYE, Amsterdam

Stayed here for a few nights. First off the location is decent for the price, pretty much in the centre, once you get on the 24 hour free ferry, which goes every few minutes and is 5 minute walk from the hotel. There is a really nice Indian restaurant a few doors down as well, along with a bar next door which had a pool table and a dart board, so if you didn't fancy going into the centre one night you would be accommodated for. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly, we also had a balcony which was a nice surprise, there was no complaints for the room in not getting what we had requested. The only complaints would be that you could hear a lot of what else was going on in the hotel, especially as the doors slammed shut really loud (people banging around at 5 am, someone's alarm on their phone in another room going off for ages in the early hours of the morning, etc...) In addition to this the bed sheets were not a nice material, they felt a bit like a coat, which wasn't great, nice normal bed sheets would be a good addition to the rooms and wouldn't be much to ask for even for the price. Although we didn't request a change so maybe we would have gotten something different if we had. Also there was a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor which allowed light to get into the room as the corridor light was on all night. Overall for the price you can't go wrong, you won't find much else for cheaper with such a good location aside from hostels. And aside from issues I have mentioned the staff and the cleanliness were all perfectly fine, hence the 4 star review despite the hotel not being perfect. Would recommend for anyone travelling on a budget, but if you are expecting luxury this isn’t for you.

Oh my, I loved staying at BUNK Hotel Amsterdam. I was first attracted by the good reviews of this young hostel/hotel hybrid, booked it far enough in advance for an early bird discount, and just a couple of days into my seven day stay, I realized I'd truly gotten a great deal. BUNK Amsterdam is fantastic! Ugh, where to start? I rented a pod, which is in a large room containing about 50 pods. Pods are preferable to bunk beds or other kinds of barrack-style hostels. There is privacy, there is enough space for you to get comfortable, change your clothes, the mattress is fine, the blanket and pillow are very cushy and cozy, the curtain is thick and heavy. The lighting situation inside the pod is unique, one of those switches with a lot of color and tone options, so you can really light the pod to your mood. I slept very well considering I was in a room with 30-50 other people at any given time. You also get a private locker beneath your pod that can fit a suitcase and a backpack with relative ease, unless you've overpacked. The bathroom is non-gendered, all the stalls are very clean and private. As a guy, it felt weird to use the bathroom while women were in it, so I blasted music in my earbuds to tune the world out while I did my business, ha. The showers are in a separate room and also very private. The water pressure is great and the showerheads are waterfall style. They have towels available at all hours. If you don't see any on the rack, just ask and there they shall be. The biggest surprise for me here was the restaurant. The restaurant attached to BUNK is basically a 4-star restaurant with 2-star prices. They have a full bar with well-priced drinks and very skilled, very handsome bartenders/baristas who can craft a wide arrays of cocktails. The chefs are also highly skilled, and the servers are attentive and kind. The menu is diverse, ranging from avocado toast to an interesting Indonesia beef stew-like dish that I can only describe as mind-blowingly delicious. They also featured a ”taco” that was very tasty despite really not being a taco at all. My favorite breakfast (and perhaps favorite overall meal) was their Eggs Bennie with fresh smoked salmon. For dessert, on multiple occasions I ordered their popular Snickers dessert, which was peanut ice cream with caramel and shards of chocolate and brittle. I meant to do more foodie tourism during my week in Amsterdam, but the food was so good I wound up taking a good percentage of my meals in the BUNK restaurant. I snapped some pictures of the food I mentioned; it should go without saying that I am not a pro photographer. The front desk is manned (or womaned) 24/7, so anytime there was an issue or I had a question, someone was available. They are very attentive with regards to customer service. I should also note with their keycard system and network of entrances and hallways, I felt very safe. They care about security there and take proper, non-intrusive methods to make sure everyone is comfortable. I should also mention the facility is just beautiful. It's built within a very old church, there is a library, plants everywhere, a calming vibe throughout, and a quiet room for work or study. BUNK is located in the North section of Amsterdam (Noord). Noord is the quieter part of Amsterdam, suburb feeling as opposed to the city vibe elsewhere. It's extremely easy to get to the Central area from here though. There is a ferry about a 10 minute walk away that takes you to the central area, as well as a tram a five minute walk away that takes you directly to Centraal Station. I really hit a home run choosing this place, BUNK Amsterdam truly delivered the goods. Great building, great amenities, great staff, great restaurant, great location. I would recommend this to anyone traveling solo or as a couple/small group. Very small group. It's great to stay for a couple of days or a whole week. I loved my experience here and would stay again if/when I return to Amsterdam. Great place.

I could not ask for more! Great amenities at the room and also unbeatable facilities at the hotel. Love the gym and sauna a lot. Only small point deducted on location as it is challenging to walk from the central station with big luggage on check in day according to stairs. Take a tram from the central station is highly recommended only with luggage. Will definitely stay there again if i get chance to be in AMS again.

Staff was friendly and the location is unbeatable, but I don’t think I’d recommend this place to anyone unless your only desire is to take things from the “coffeeshops” to your room’s balcony; the rooms are old and dirty, and the bathroom is small and also smelly (like matches?). The floor was dusty and full of dead bugs, and the window didn’t close properly. Also, there is no elevator in the hotel.

Very expensive for below mediocre service.. not at par with other Hilton hotel services! Upon check in (April 14, evening) there was no water in the room. I called and asked for water and was told it is only given to Hilton members, and I am! I told them I am a member and I was told by the female staff at the reception that I should go downstairs to get water! Seriously?! Is this a hostel that you can't bring water to the room?! So I insisted and they brought 1 small bottle! And I asked why only 1, and was told by the female staff it is because I don't have a companion!! She also told me to just drink water from the tap! Regardless if tap water is potable or not, there ahould be bottled water provided! The standard for hotels is to have at least 2 bottles upon check in! The staff even told me I should be polite (because I asked for explanantiom why only 1 bottle can be given to me). I have always said ”please” and if asking for explanation is impolite to her, what does she think of frowning at guest? She even told me I am just a new member hence.. I paid almost Euros 300 per night and you can't give me 2 small bottles of water?! The female staff was also frowning at me as I requested. Even slippers were missing! I was told it is for selected rooms only, but eventually they gave me a pair. The service is really terrible. I booked the room with river view and it was TINY!!! I could barely fit to walk to the bathroom once opened my luggage! The toiletry dispensers were empty! was about to take a shower when I arrived onlynto discover there was no shampoo and shower gel in the dispensers! Couldn't the check before someone checks in?! The bed headboard was dusty!!! The safety box could not be opened!! I locked my valuables inside and it just shut off! The staff came and checked and at first was not itnerested but then I insisted that I needed my passport. She then came again with new batteries, unscrewed and put it back. We were able to open and got my stuff. Before leaving I tried locking it empty and again, it could not be opened! I just ignored and did not use it again, not worth the stress. Breakfast is enough and restaurant staff were nice. also liked the location, far from the crowd with convenient ferry access. I think these are the only positive. Worst Hilton experience!

A good 5 min walk away from nice Asian food place Market 27 while the environment is peaceful and modern. The housekeeping service is splendid as we returned to the hotel room each night to find everything in order. The bed is hard enough for my comfort. Pillows are splendid and high enough. Water pressure in the bath room is good too. The clothes hanging rack is a little high for shorter Asian people like myself… but still manageable for a 1.7m tall man. Location is the best. It is located opposite metro station that 1 stations distance away then bring you Amsterdam Centre. Besides, it is right besides bus interchange that can bring us to zaandam.

Super friendly night staff and was very helpful !! Would not stay again as pictures are completely misleading nothing as advertised much smaller and pour room hygiene there were ants on our table side cigarette burns also on the table when mentioned to the day staff we were having issues with our room as the vent directly out side our room was so loud we asked to swap they had said there fully booked when looking on their website there were still plenty of other room I could have booked for that night we also asked at the same time if we could have a extra pillow as they provided small square pillows that were just enough to rest my head on lay down flat in one statue like position the maintenance person followed us up the stairs and got a pillow out of another room and this was filthy and had marks on it that were very visible on white sheets I would have recommended the hostel across the street over Trianon there best feature was the vending machine and free map

Teleport Hotel brings the conveniences of a hotel with a relaxed vibe of a hostel together. The twin room we stayed in was very spacious, included a small kitchen and was cleaned daily. Bathroom was private, you only need to make 2 steps across the corridor to enter it. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, offering advice and sightseeing tips. Lovely chill-out area right in front of the hotel and unique wall paintings in each room make the atmosphere better. Teleport Hotel is not right in the city center, but the center can be reached very conveniently by train in 5 minutes (1 stop) or a tram (20minutes). In short, for the price you get a lot more than expected, and we would gladly stay again.

On the positive, wellness is very nice, team tries to be helpful and beds are comfortable. On the negative, first room faced street with lots of noise even on the 4th floor. Asked for a room change which they provided to a quieter but a bit smaller room. No issue, it was quiet 😅. In the morning however I noticed a big black bug on the crispy white sheets - less fun that surprise in the morning but hey, we are close to water. The bike I rented from the hotel is a good brand, however poorly maintained - tyres pretty flat and left brake didn’t function. On the hotel info sheet was mentioned that welness opens from 06.00 to 23.00, however at 6.30 only fitness was open and swimming pool only as off seven. No bathrobe or slippers available in the room which was very enjoying seen you have to take lift and cross hallways to reach wellness at 2/3 floor. Finally the surroundings are convenient (close to train station) but it is a super touristy part with nothing for the visitor who is looking for authenticity. In summary, I had high hopes for this hotel but will never return despite a great swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Too Bad

It's a hotel, like a small resort. It's nice to get a car and drive around. The hotel has a special ventilation unit l on the window so as kind of thoughtful. the breakfast is okay.
