Hotel Beira Mar

Hotel Beira Mar is situated in the best location of Angra do Heroísmo directly facing to the sea. You can easily walk to Monte Brasil or explore the beautiful streets of Angra from there. The hotel staff were always receptive to any request and gave me a wonderful room on the 3rd floor with an incredible view. It was so peaceful to hear the waves rolling onto the shore. The hotel and room were spotlessly clean and had everything to make for a relaxing stay. The complimentary buffet breakfast was more than adequate, and the fresh homemade cakes were so delicious! Restaurant Beira Mar which is located in the hotel served the most fresh and reasonably priced seafood dishes. You can choose to sit inside or on the terrace facing the sea. My meal was so good that I returned the next evening and ordered exactly the same thing. One of the best meals ever! I stayed five nights and would definitely choose Hotel Beira Mar again on any return visit to Angra.

Restaurant visit only, for the freshest seafood you could possibly have. The boats come in just down the peirce, and then each dish is made to your liking. Try the limpets (lapas) and also the calamari. The wait staff were very helpful in assisting my travel companions pick just the right meals.

We came to Beira Mar for many years, always to have lunch on the terrace. We remember an impeccable and attentive service. Our experience yesterday was a harsh deception. Coming in, we were not greeted as usual. Waiters and waitresses were not dressed the way they were. We recognised two waiters only, the rest of the staff were new to us. Only very reluctantly we were seated on the terrace. To try to get the attention of a waiter to place our order was a thing of impossibility. The waiters chatted among each other and forgot about the guests. We asked for oil and vinegar for the salad - only vinegar came. When asking for the wine list, we had to wait about 5 minutes. When ordering the wine, an island wine, we were told that our choice was not available. We accepted the suggested alternative. However, on the check, our first choice of wine, at double the price of the alternate wine was registered. If it was clumsyness or bad faith, I will not decide. Our good memories of the place is in any case tainted. When I confronted the one waiter I recognised from many stays - he also remembered me - I felt his embarassement. But his apology was so softly spoken, practically not to be heard. I doubt that we will go vack to Beira Mar - it saddens me.

I didn’t actually stay at the hotel, I ate at the restaurant. The view from the terrace is beautiful. The food was good and our entry was particularly good. But the service was terrible. If I needed something I would have to ask multiple times and even then wouldn’t get it. I ordered a ½ bottle of wine and they brought a whole bottle telling they had no ½ bottles, but then I saw half bottles on other tables. And the bottle they brought me was rather expensive….without asking first if I wanted a whole bottle. Good food can be spoiled by lousy service and such was the case at Beira Mar.

El hotel tiene una ubicación excelente con vistas a la playa desde la habitación, pero no dispone de aparcamiento aunque pudimos aparcar en la puerta todos los días. La primera noche llegamos muy tarde y la persona de recepción nos cedió su aparcamiento en la puerta para nosotras, fue un detalle inesperado! La limpieza y el desayuno estuvo bastante bien. por contra, las habitaciones tienen que moderniz****

Chi lo ha definito stamberga non scherzava. Sicuramente ottima posizione ad Angra do Heroísmo, ma hotel pessimo. Pulizia incerta, colazione più che scadente, personale infastidito dai clienti. Struttura vetusta. Normalmente non faccio recensioni, ma un tanto dovevo per evitare che altri facciano la mia stessa esperienza.

El hotel está bien situado, con buenas vistas al mar, pero se le debería hacer una buena reforma. Las habitaciones y cuartos de baño súper antiguos. Mini bar muy ruidoso. El desayuno justo, Embutido de mala calidad y poca fruta

Hotel bastante bem localizado a 1 passo da praia e muito próximo do centro de Angra do Heroísmo. Peça pela falta de modernização apresentando já um desfasamento muito grande em relação a outros hotéis de 3 estrelas. A título de exemplo: - almofadas bastante rijas e altas, - TV no quarto minúscula, - WC antigo e desconfortável, - produtos de higiene em embalagem de papel (shampoo) e inexistência de gel de banho. - falta de tomada elétrica junto à cama, - fraquíssima variedade de produtos no pequeno almoço.
