Just stayed here for 11 nights. I cannot fault the hotel at all. Yes there is a steep hill up to the rooms so if you struggle with mobility take this into account but I saw guests with very poor mobility managing! Breakfast had plenty of choice. Cereal, yogurt, toast, cakes, sliced meats, cheese, sausage, small pastrey's, eggs, juice, coffee etc. There was enough to keep us going until tea time. The room had all we needed - safe, air con, fridge and a lovely comfy bed! It was cleaned every day, beds made and towels changed. Always got a welcoming smile and a good morning from the cleaners. Did use the pool - it was very cold, but so was the sea on some days! Hotel is on a busy main road with no footpath outside but there is room to walk single file and it was only for a couple of minutes. The hotel is located near to plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, all within walking distance. Not a lot of beach along argassi front but there is a free bus to banana beach (we didn't use this). There is no shortage of car/scooter/quad hire places and there are plenty of places to book your boat trips. I would definitely recommend a stay here - a small, quiet, friendly hotel. Having visited other Greek islands we were underwhelmed by Zakynthos in general and Argassi in particular: just 2 roads of souvenir shops, car/quad rentals, tour operators and restaurants all offering pretty much the same menu. No beach to speak of and difficult to get in and outof the sea due to all the sea****. However the Papillon gave us exactly what we wanted - a relaxing week in the sun in a clean, quiet and comfortable hotel. We had a great room, 412 overlooking the pool which had a lounge area as well as bedroom and balcony. The hotel seems to have been recently renovated so ignore the old photos. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good though I would have liked more fresh fruit. Would be happy to stay here again if somewhere else. Restaurants we'd recommend: Charlie Chaplin, the Green Frog and Peppermint.
